Royal Hobart Hospital

The Magistrates Court of Tasmania is the main day-to-day court in the Australian state of Tasmania and exists in accordance with the laws handed down by the Tasmanian Parliament. The Court is an inferior court to the Supreme Court of Tasmania and, in terms of the Australian court hierarchy, is at the bottom level.

The Hobart Private Hospital is a 146-bed private hospital located in the central business district of Hobart adjacent to the Royal Hobart Hospital. It is owned by Healthscope, one of Australia's leading providers of hospitals, medical and pathology centres. The Hobart Private Hospital provides private health care specialising in the areas of emergency, cardiac, maternity, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, urology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, respiratory medicine, rehab and general surgery. In December 2019, after previous discussions ended in a stalemate, it was announced that the lease to Healthscope would be renewed for another 20 years.

The Hobart Reception Centre, formerly the Hobart Remand Centre, an Australian maximum security prison for male and female inmates held on remand, is located in Hobart, Tasmania. The facility is operated by the Tasmanian Prison Service, an agency of the Department of Justice of the Government of Tasmania. The facility accepts felons charged under Tasmanian and/or Commonwealth legislation pending legal proceedings; and also detains convicted felons, pending their classification and placement at other correctional facilities in Tasmania.

Theatre Royal is an historic performing arts venue in central Hobart, Tasmania. It is the oldest continually operating theatre in Australia; Noël Coward once called it "a dream of a theatre" and Laurence Olivier launched a national appeal for its reconstruction in the 1940s.

The Menzies Institute for Medical Research is an Australian medical research institute of the University of Tasmania based in Hobart, Tasmania. Formerly known as the Menzies Centre for Population Health Research, the institute was established in 1988 and conducts innovative, world-class medical research to improve human health and well-being.

The Hedberg is performing arts campus and teaching facility that encompasses the historic Theatre Royal and the University of Tasmania (UTAS) through a collaborative partnership which also included the Australian and Tasmanian Governments.

The Hobart Synagogue is a heritage-listed synagogue located in 59 Argyle Street, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The synagogue is the oldest synagogue building in Australia and is a rare example of the Egyptian Revival style of synagogue architecture. The Egyptian Revival building was constructed in 1845. The trapezoidal shape of the windows and the columns with lotus capitals are characteristic of the Egyptian Revival style. Currently the Hobart Synagogue has regular Orthodox and Progressive services.The land on which the synagogue stands was originally part of the garden of former convict Judah Solomon. It has a seating capacity of 150 and features hard benches at the back of the building for the Jewish convicts who in the early days were marched in under armed guard. The synagogue is listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register.

Tasmania Police is the primary law enforcement agency of the Australian state of Tasmania. Established in 1899, the force has more than 1,300 officers policing Tasmania's population of over half a million people.

NAB House (formerly known as the AMP Building) is an A-grade office building situated in Hobart, Tasmania.

The Hope and Anchor Tavern (formerly Hope and Anchor Hotel, the Alexandra, the Whale Fishery and the Hope) is an Australian pub in Hobart, Tasmania. Built in 1807, it is the oldest continually licensed pub in Australia. However, The Bush Inn in New Norfolk claims to be the oldest operating Australian pub, because their venue has operated continuously since it opened in 1815 whereas the Hope and Anchor Tavern has had periods of closure (whilst still holding their licence) since opening in 1807. The Hope and Anchor Tavern is referred to in 'Captain A E Sykes: memoirs'It was reopened in 2014 after the building and its extensive antique collection were purchased by Chinese developer Kim Xing for A$1.5 million. The property was then leased to Robert Wilson and licensed to Daniel Cullen. whose goal was to preserve a piece of Tasmanian history. The building has been listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register since 1998. The Hope and Anchor Tavern was owned for many years by Gunter Jaeger, who also owns Boomer Island. In 2015, the owner and licensee was Daniel Cullen.

Railway Roundabout is a three-lane roundabout in Hobart, Tasmania. It is located on the Brooker Highway, at the top of Liverpool Street. It was originally built for the city's main railway station.At the centre of the roundabout is a fountain built in 1963. It was restored in 2013 after having been out of service for more than a decade.Railway Roundabout is the worst accident blackspot in Tasmania.In 2015, the Roundabout Appreciation Society awarded Railway Roundabout their "one-way gyratory accolade".

Ingle Hall is a landmark building in Hobart, Tasmania on the corner of Macquarie and Argyle Streets. It has served numerous purposes over its history and is vacant; it was most recently used as The Mercury print museum. It is unknown when the building was built as it predates any government record holding by the state of Tasmania, which began in 1822. It is named for John Ingle, one of the two possible first inhabitants of the building.It was listed on the Register of the National Estate until that list was archived in 2007, and is on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. It is alleged to be the oldest building in Hobart (and therefore Tasmania), but this is not proven.
