Munsbach railway station

Munsbach (Luxembourgish: Minsbech, German: Münsbach) is a small town in the commune of Schuttrange, in eastern region of Luxembourg. As of 2007, the town has a population of 612. The Baroque style Munsbach Castle from 1775 is home to the Institut Universitaire International Luxembourg which provides educational courses in business, European law and public sector management.

Übersyren or Uebersyren (Luxembourgish: Iwwersiren) is a small town in the commune of Schuttrange, in southern Luxembourg. As of 2019, the town has a population of 4,144.

Munsbach Castle (Luxembourgish: Schlass Mënsbech; French: Château de Munsbach; German: Schloss Münsbach) is located to the west of Munsbach, in the Schuttrange commune, east of Luxembourg city. Built in 1775 in the Baroque style, the main building was originally used as a manor for a long time, before it was transformed into a castle at the end of the 19th century, with the addition of two towers and a number of independent buildings.The castle is situated in the midst of a park with a rose garden that is permanently open to the public free of charge, and which hosts an annual Rose Fest in September. The garden preserves a collection of more than 600 rose varieties with a rich history of Luxembourgish heritage, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Luxembourg was once the largest exporter of roses in the world. The rose garden was created and is regularly maintained and improved by volunteers of the Lëtzebuerger Rousefrënn (Luxembourg Rose friends) association, in collaboration with the Schuttrange commune.The castle itself cannot be visited, and it now serves as the administrative building of the Centre for Social and Emotional Development (CDSE) which created and designed the first open-air mindfulness trail in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which was inaugurated in 2021 by Claude Meisch as Minister of National Education, Children and Youth. With the help of mindfulness, a practice with origins in Buddhism, the CDSE promotes awareness of emotional skills and well-being. It was originally an initiative in response to the effects of stress and emotional insecurity caused by the covid-pandemic.

Schuttrange (French pronunciation: [ʃytʁɑ̃ʒ]; Luxembourgish: Schëtter [ˈʃətɐ] ; German: Schüttringen) is a commune and small town in southern Luxembourg. It is located east of Luxembourg City. As of 2005, the town of Schuttrange, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 825. Other towns within the commune include Munsbach, Neuhäusgen, Schrassig, and Übersyren.

As of 2018, it has a population of 6,156. The commune of Niederanven is the intersection for the A1 motorway and N1. Luxembourg Airport is located within the boundaries of the communes Niederanven and Sandweiler.

Luxair Flight 9642 (LG9642/LGL9642) was a scheduled international passenger flight from Berlin Tempelhof Airport, Germany, to Luxembourg Findel Airport, Luxembourg, operated by Luxembourg national airline Luxair. On 6 November 2002, the aircraft operating the flight, a Fokker 50 registered as LX-LGB, lost control and crashed onto a field during an attempted landing at the airport. Out of 22 passengers and crew members on board, only two people survived. The crash is the deadliest aviation disaster to occur in Luxembourg.Luxembourg's Administration for Technical Investigations (AET) concluded that the crash was caused by pilot error. The crew decided to accept the approach clearance that had been given by the ATC even though they had not conducted enough preparation for the landing, leading the crew to conduct a series of improvised actions. Their actions led to the override of a certain safety features that would have prevented the propellers from entering the reverse angle, enabling the propellers to enter the reverse angle in flight and led to the lost control situation.: 61–62 The result of the investigation highlighted the possible safety risk regarding the protection system against an accidental deployment of reverse angle in turboprops during mid-flight, prompting Fokker to issue a mandatory modification on the safety feature.: 63–65 

Schrassig (Luxembourgish: Schraasseg [ˈʃʀaːsəɕ]) is a town in the commune of Schuttrange, in the south-east of Luxembourg. As of 2023, the town has a population of 822. It houses the country's biggest prison.

Oetrange (Luxembourgish: Éiter, German: Oetringen) is a small town in the commune of Contern, in south-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2007, the town has a population of 781, but it increased to 843 in 2021 and again to 858 in 2022.The town is served by Oetrange railway station, which lies on Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois' Line 30.

Neuhäusgen or Neuhaeusgen (Luxembourgish: Neihaischen) is a village in the commune of Schuttrange, in southern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the village had a population of 235.

Senningen Castle (Luxembourgish: Schlass Senneng; French: Château de Senningen) is a revival-style castle, located in the town of Senningen, in the west of the commune of Niederanven, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Today it is used by the State for official meetings.

Mensdorf (Luxembourgish: Menster) is a small town in the commune of Betzdorf, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 765.
