Vliet, Utrecht

Hoenkoop is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. Since 1970, Hoenkoop has been a part of the municipality of Oudewater. Between 1815 and 1970, it was a separate municipality.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1299 or 1300 Hoencoop, and means "(peat) concession", however the name first name Hoen does not fit. Hoenkoop has not place name signs. In 1840, it was home to 324 people.

Rozendaal is a town in the Dutch province of South Holland. The town is a part of the municipality Vlist. It and lies about 8 km south of Woerden. The statistical area "Rozendaal", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 90.

It was first mentioned in 1371 as "in de ruwer weyde, ende op ter langher weyde", and means meadow with rough vegetation. Also to distinguish it from Langeweide. The postal authorities have placed it under Oudewater. The hamlet has no place name signs. In 1840, Ruigeweide was home to 84 people.

Papekop is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 3 km northwest of the city of Oudewater. Papekop was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1964, when it merged with Driebruggen. Between 1821 and 1989, when it became part of Oudewater, the village was located in the province of South Holland.The village was first mentioned around 1307 as Papencoip, and means "(peat) concession of Pape (probably a clergy)". In 1840, it was home to 284 people. Between 1858 and 1936, there was a railway station in Papekop.

Diemerbroek is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 3 km (1.9 mi) north of the town of Oudewater. The statistical district "Diemerbroek", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 150.

Polsbroek is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Lopik, and lies about 10 km southeast of Gouda.

Noord-Polsbroek is a former village and municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It existed between 1817 and 1857, when it merged with Zuid-Polsbroek to form a single municipality Polsbroek.Noord-Polsbroek was the northern half of Polsbroek, north of the small river the Benschopse Wetering. Around 1850, the municipality had a population of about 410.

The Goejanverwellesluis is a lock in Hekendorp, Netherlands. The 'Goejannen' - the men from the surrounding polders who went to sea - said their last farewells by this channel. According to the tradition, Wilhelmina of Prussia, wife of stadholder William V was captured here on 28 June 1787 by the Patriots from Gouda. In reality, her entourage were arrested at Bonrepas on the river Vlist, on the way to Schoonhoven near Haastrecht. Wilhelmina was at a farm overhanging the Goejanverwellesluis, where Cornelis Johan de Lange, commander of the free corps of Gouda, had been billeted. Informed of her plans by the gentleman Martinus van Toulon, former bailiff of Gouda, the Commission of Defense stopped her from driving on to Gouda that night. The princess left the very same evening after 10pm in the direction of Schoonhoven and turned back to her spouse stadholder William V at Nijmegen. This event formed the main reason for the Prussians' raid into Holland, with Frederick William II of Prussia coming to his sister Wilhelmina's aid and so making possible William's return to the Hague. This raid led to an exodus of the Patriots from the United Republic of the Seven Netherlands in 1787. A foot ferry at Goejanverwellesluis was replaced by the Wilhelmina van Pruisen Bridge in 1992.

Zuid-Polsbroek was a semi-sovereign or free and high fief (Free and high fief of Zuid-Polsbroek), now part of Polsbroek in the Dutch province of Utrecht. Zuid-Polsbroek was the part of Polsbroek south of the small river Benschopse Wetering.

Hekendorp is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 6 km east of Gouda. Hekendorp was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1964, when it merged with Driebruggen. During this period, the area was part of the province South Holland. In 1857, the municipality of Oukoop was added to Hekendorp, even though the two former municipalities did not border each other.The Goejanverwellesluis where the patriots stopped Wilhelmina van Pruisen is located in Hekendorp.

Lange Linschoten is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 2 km northeast of the city of Oudewater. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1555 as Lange Lynschoten, and means "the long part of the Linschoten (river)". It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Snelrewaard. In 1840, Lange Linschoten was home to 144 people. Nowadays, it consists of about 120 houses.
