Beşiktaş J.K.

Vodafone Park is an all-seater, multi-purpose stadium in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is the home ground of Beşiktaş JK. The stadium was built on the site of Beşiktaş's former home, BJK İnönü Stadium. It has a capacity of approximately 42,590 spectators, after initially being planned for 41,903. The stadium hosted the 2019 UEFA Super Cup. Vodafone Park houses 144 executive suites, and one "1903 Lounge" which can entertain up to 1,903 spectators in total. The "1903 stand" has a capacity of 636 spectators. VIP seats in the stadium are equipped with the FUNTORO Stadium & Arena solution – high definition interactive monitors which provide a live TV broadcast, advertising systems, player information etc. The new stadium also has 2,123 square metres of restaurants, 2,520 square metres of terrace restaurants and a VIP parking capacity of 600 vehicles. The ground is a 'smart stadium', where fans enjoy StadiumVision and high-speed Wi-Fi technology, planned in conjunction with Cisco.Demolition works on BJK İnönü Stadium started on 2 June 2013, following the end of promotion play-offs for the TFF First League. The estimated cost of the project at the time was around $80 million. The new stadium was designed by Bünyamin Derman of DB architects. The old stadium was demolished, except for the Eski Açık stand, since this stand and its towers are considered historical monuments by the government. The Eski Açık stand was re-arranged to resemble the look of an antique amphitheatre. The new stadium was designed to be "in harmony with the natural and historic landscape of the Bosphorus" when seen from the sea.

İnönü Stadium (Turkish: İnönü Stadyumu) was a football stadium in Istanbul, Turkey and the home ground of the football club Beşiktaş J.K. Previously, the ground had also been shared with Galatasaray S.K. and Fenerbahçe S.K. The ground was located in Dolmabahçe, close to Dolmabahçe Palace in the district of Beşiktaş, on the European side of Istanbul. The stadium was demolished except for the walls of the Eski Açık stand and its historical towers in order to build a new stadium for Beşiktaş J.K. at the same location - Vodafone Park. The all-seater stadium had the capacity to host 32,145 spectators.

On the evening of 10 December 2016, two explosions caused by a car bombing and suicide bombing in Istanbul's Beşiktaş municipality killed 48 people and injured 166 others. 39 of those killed were police officers, 7 were civilians and 2 were perpetrators. The Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK) assumed responsibility, claiming that their members killed more than 100 police officers.

Dolmabahçe Clock Tower (Turkish: Dolmabahçe Saat Kulesi) is a clock tower situated outside Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. Its construction was ordered by Ottoman sultan Abdülhamid II (1842–1918) and designed by the court architect Sarkis Balyan between 1890 and 1895. The clock tower was added to Dolmabahçe Palace, and stands in front of its Treasury Gate on a square along the European waterfront of Bosphorus next to Dolmabahçe Mosque. Designed in Ottoman neo-baroque style, the four-sided, four-story tower stands on a floor area of 8.5 × 8.5 m (28 × 28 ft) at a height of 27 m (89 ft). Its clock was manufactured by the renowned French clockmaker house of Jean-Paul Garnier, and installed by the court clock master Johann Mayer. Its face features highly stylised Eastern Arabic numerals. In 1979, the original mechanical clock was converted partly to an electrical one. Two opposing sides of the tower bear the tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II.

The Dolmabahçe Mosque is a baroque waterside mosque in Kabataş in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, close to the Dolmabahçe Palace. It was commissioned by queen mother Bezmi Alem Valide Sultan and designed by the Turkish Armenian architect, Garabet Balyan in 1855. After his mother's death, Sultan Abdülmecid, saw the building work through to completion. The mosque has twin minarets and is distinguished by the huge stone arches on its facades which are cut with large windows, allowig light to flood the interior. From 1956-60 the mosque provided a venue for the Naval Museum, only resuming prayer services in 1967. Road-widening robbed it of its courtyard and sebil that were originally part of the design.

Swissôtel The Bosphorus is a luxury hotel in Istanbul and is managed by the Switzerland-based hotel chain Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is located in the centre of Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, on the European banks of the Bosphorus. The hotel is member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

Ayaspaşa, also known as Ayazpaşa, is a quarter of Beyoğlu district in Istanbul, Turkey. It is close to Taksim Square and the neighbourhoods of Gümüşsuyu and Cihangir.

İstanbul State Art and Sculpture Museum (Turkish: İstanbul Devlet Resim ve Heykel Müzesi) is a museum in İstanbul, Turkey. The museum is in Dolmabahçe Palace in Vişnezade neighborhood of İstanbul. The building, just like the rest of the palace, was built in 1856. It was the mansion of the crown prince. On 20 September 1937, upon the suggestion of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, it was converted into a museum. There are paintings, sculptures and moulage by the Turkish and foreign artists in the museum. Most of the paintings are oil paintings. Some of the artists, whose works are exhibited, are Pierre Bonnard (1867—1947), André Derain (1880–1954), Henri Matisse (1869–1954), Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) and Maurice Utrillo (1883– 5 1955). As of 2005, the number of exhibited items are as follows; 3,977 paintings, 672 sculptures, 80 calligraphy artwork (Arabic script typeface) and 107 ceramics.

Kabataş is an underground station and eastern terminus of the F1 funicular line of the Istanbul Metro. The station is located under Meclis-i Mebusan Avenue in northeastern Beyoğlu. Connections to the T1 tram line, ferry service and city bus service are available on the surface. Kabataş station was opened on 29 June 2006, 28 days after the T1 tram line was extended north from Eminönü to Kabataş. The station has become an important transfer point between ferry and rapid transit.

Taşkışla (pronounced [taʃˈkɯʃla]) is neighborhood and building complex in Istanbul. It takes its name Stone Barracks from its use as a military establishment in the Ottoman period also known as Mecidiye Kışlası. It is located in close proximity to Beyoğlu and home to the Architecture faculty of the Istanbul Technical University and today serves as a terminus for the Maçka Gondola cable car line.

Maçka Democracy Park is a recreational area in Istanbul, Turkey, which has paths for jogging, walking and dog walking. It also has children's areas, rest areas and benches and decorative pools.

Vişnezade is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Beşiktaş, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 5,957 (2022). Vişne means "sour cherry" and the neighborhood is named after İzzeti Mehmet Efendi (1629-1681) an Ottoman statesman nicknamed Vişnezade who was known to cultivate sour cherry in the place of this neighborhood. Vişnezade is the southernmost neighborhood of Beşiktaş district. Beyoğlu ilçe is to the southwest, Sinanpaşa (Beşiktaş centrum) is to the north east and the Bosphorus is to the southeast. The two of the most important structures are the Dolmabahçe Palace and the mosque which bears the name of the neighborhood.
