Blackwolf Run

The 2012 U.S. Women's Open was the 67th U.S. Women's Open, held July 5–8 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin. Na Yeon Choi won her first major championship, four strokes ahead of runner-up Amy Yang. The U.S. Women's Open is the oldest major championship and the third of the 2012 season. It has the largest purse in women's golf, at $3.25 million in 2012. It is one of 13 national championships conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA). Qualifying tournaments began on May 14, 2012 and concluded on June 3, 2012. The tournament was televised by ESPN and NBC Sports. Blackwolf Run previously hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1998 with Se Ri Pak beating amateur Jenny Chuasiriporn in a Monday playoff that went to 20 holes. Their 72-hole score was 290 (+6), played on a par-71 course at 6,412 yards (5,863 m). The course for 2012 was set as a par-72 with a maximum length of 6,954 yards (6,359 m), an increase of 542 yards (496 m). The course was set at less than the maximum for all four rounds.

The 1998 U.S. Women's Open was the 53rd edition of the U.S. Women's Open, held July 2–6 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin. The champion was Se Ri Pak, the winner of a 20-hole Monday playoff over amateur Jenny Chuasiriporn. Both age 20, Pak and Chuasiriporn finished the 18-hole playoff round tied at 73, and both parred the first extra hole, a par-5. Pak rolled in an 18-foot (5.5 m) birdie putt on the 92nd hole of competition to become the youngest woman to win two major championships in the same year. She won her first major, the LPGA Championship, seven weeks earlier. On the 72nd hole on Sunday, Chuasiriporn holed a 40-foot (12 m) birdie putt to get into the playoff. Pak later had an 8-foot (2.4 m) birdie putt to win the title outright, but it did not drop. Pak was awarded the winner's share of the prize money on Sunday, prior to the playoff, as Chuasiriporn was an amateur.The championship returned to the course fourteen years later, in 2012.

The Waelderhaus is a structure in Kohler, Wisconsin, managed by the Kohler Foundation. It was constructed by Marie C Kohler as a memorial to her father John Michael Kohler II (1844–1900). It was built as a headquarters for the Kohler Women's Club, the local chapter of Girl Scouts and as a public meeting place for lectures and small performances.

Kohler is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Sheboygan River. The population was 2,120 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The American Club is a luxury spa and resort located in Kohler, Wisconsin. It is owned and operated by the Kohler Company. It has received various awards, including the Top 100 Golf Resorts by Conde Nast Traveler magazine, and is the Midwest's only AAA Five Diamond Resort Hotel. It is now part of Destination Kohler. The American Club is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Kohler Distinguished Guest Series is a series of lecture and performing arts programs began in 1944 with a current venue at the Kohler Memorial Theatre in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Kohler High School is a public high school located in Kohler, Wisconsin. It serves grades 9-12 and is part of the Kohler School District. Kohler Elementary and Kohler Middle Schools are also based out of the same building, though the enrollments of each school are broken out individually rather than as one K-12 unit. In the same building is the Kohler Public Library, which serves as the school library for all three schools.

The Kohler Riverbend Estate is an historic property located in Kohler, Wisconsin. It was built in 1922–1923 by Walter J. Kohler, Sr., then governor of Wisconsin and president of the Kohler Company. It was reported to cost in excess of $1,000,000 to construct (equivalent to $17,200,000 in 2022).

The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus (UW–Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus) is a university in Sheboygan, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

Sheboygan Lutheran High School is a private secondary school in Sheboygan, Wisconsin near the University of Wisconsin–Sheboygan campus on the city's southwest side. It is operated by the Lutheran High School Association of the Greater Sheboygan Area, Inc., an association of Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations in the Sheboygan area.

The Art Preserve is an art museum and a satellite campus of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The preserve houses a collection of artist-built environments and sculptural works. It is designed by Tres Birds and located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Opened in June 2021, the Art Preserve is the first museum dedicated to the exhibition, preservation, and care of artist-built environments. The museum also serves as a research space for the art environment genre.

The Eastern Shores Library System (ESLS) was one of 17 public library systems in Wisconsin. Founded in 1987, it had 13 member libraries, with five in Ozaukee County and eight located in Sheboygan County, in addition to a bookmobile. Sheboygan's Mead Public Library served as the resource library for the system. The last director of ESLS was Amy Birtell. ESLS covered 741 square miles (1,920 km2), serving over 191,000 people. All thirteen libraries use the integrated library system provided by Polaris Library Systems, with the system's online catalog known as "EasiCat" (for "Eastern Shores Information Catalog"). All residents of Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties may use the services provided by Eastern Shores and its member libraries. In 2017, Eastern Shores Library System merged with Mid-Wisconsin Library System to form Monarch Library System. The new system serves Dodge, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, and Washington Counties.
