Vitro is the largest glass producer in Mexico and one of the world's largest organizations in the glass industry. Founded in 1909 in Monterrey, Mexico, this corporation has 30 subsidiaries in Mexico, United States, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama. Its companies produce, distribute, and market a wide range of glass articles, which are part of the daily life of millions of people in 34 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. It was founded by Roberto Sada Muguerza in 1909. It is one of the world's largest glass producers. In 2015 it sold its part of glass bottles to Owens Illinois for $2.15 billion. Vitro now focuses on producing flat glass.

Gruma, S.A.B. de C.V., known as Gruma, is a Mexican multinational corn flour (masa) and tortilla manufacturing company headquartered in San Pedro, near Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. It is the largest corn flour and tortilla manufacturer in the world. Its brand names include Mission Foods (Misión in Mexico), Maseca, and Guerrero. Gruma reported revenues of US$3.8 billion for 2014. It operates more than 79 plants worldwide, mainly in Mexico, the United States, and Europe, and employs approximately 18,000 people. It is listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1994, and it had a NYSE listing through ADRs from 1998 to September 2015. It is a constituent of the IPC, the main benchmark index of Mexican stocks.

Plaza Fiesta San Agustín is one of the largest shopping malls in Mexico, and the largest located in the metropolitan area of Monterrey. Founded in 1988, it has grown to include shops and department stores dedicated to over 150 commercial activities. It is administered by Inmobiliaria Real San Agustín, S.A.

The Monterrey Open is a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. The event is affiliated with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), and is part of the 250 series on the WTA Tour. From 2009 to 2013, the tournament was held in the Sierra Madre Tennis Club and since 2014 the tournament is currently held at the Club Sonoma.

Canal 28 (call sign XHMNL-TDT) is an educational and public television station owned and operated by the government of the Mexican state of Nuevo León. It is part of Radio y Televisión de Nuevo León and broadcasts on 24 transmitters serving the entire state.

Alfa Planetarium (Spanish: Planetario Alfa) was a planetarium located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. This institution was created by ALFA (Mexico) in 1978 to promote science and technology in Latin America. It included an interactive science museum, an Omnimax system cinema, an aviary and an area for temporary exhibits and events. The Alfa Planetarium was one of the most visited cultural centers in Mexico. It was announced in September 2020 that the planetarium would close on 4 September.

The Showcenter Complex is an indoor arena located in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, Mexico. With a capacity of 4,500, it is primarily used for concerts, shows, and indoor sports. The Showcenter Complex was opened in March 2019. The venue was inaugurated on March 14, 2019, by architect Eudelio Mercado and would have several guests, including the municipal president Miguel Treviño de Hoyos and the businessmen and representatives of the Broadway Across America company, Jeff Daniels and Bruce Granath.

Loma Larga Tunnel, or, as it is known by the locals, Túnel de la Loma Larga, is a man-made tunnel constructed in the bowels of the Cerro de la Loma Larga, in the limits of the cities of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García in Nuevo León, México. The work itself in fact is two tunnels, holding three lanes each (a fourth one is destined for emergencies). The tunnel is almost two kilometers long. The lanes flowing south end in the municipality of San Pedro Garza García, while the ones flowing north end in Monterrey.

The Metropolitan Center is a mixed-use skyscraper building complex located in the Valle Oriente district of the San Pedro Garza García municipality of Monterrey, Mexico. Overally built between 2012 and 2020, the complex consists of three towers, with the tallest one (the Hotel Safi Metropolitan also known as Metropolitan Center Tower III) standing at 233 m (764 ft) tall with 56 floors, which is the current 7th tallest building in Mexico and the 3rd tallest in Monterrey.

Cerro de la Loma Larga (literal English: Long Hill Mountain), or Loma Larga (short version), is a lower extension of the Sierra Madre Oriental, particularly of Cerro de las Mitras. located in the Monterrey, Nuevo León metropolitan area. The hill has long been considered the natural division of the now adjacent cities of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García. The Diana Cazadora statue marking the division of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García was placed along a busy avenue (Gonzalitos) crossing over the hill. In the early 2000s, the state government completed the Loma Larga Tunnel, which burrows under the mountain to connect Monterrey to San Pedro Garza García. For its length of about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi), it is flanked on its northern side by the Santa Catarina River, and on its southern side, the Sierra Madre Oriental in almost full height. Nearby geological features make it a relatively unremarkable slope. Residential and commercial development has been built over most of the mountain. The Basílica de Guadalupe is also located on the hill, among other churches. Loma Larga is used for some broadcasting. XHRL-FM and XET-AM, among other stations, maintain facilities on the mountain. Other stations use Cerro del Mirador, located to the west. Some other well-known mountains or elevations of the area are Cerro de la Silla, Cerro de las Mitras, the Sierra Madre Oriental and Cerro de Chipinque with its famous M-shaped figure, the Cerro del Topo Chico, Cerro del Obispado and La Huasteca.
