Luxembourg-Cents

Cents (Luxembourgish: Zens, pronounced [tsæns] ) is a quarter in eastern Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. As of 31 December 2022, the quarter has a population of 6,449 inhabitants.The area lies on the eastern side of the city, on an elevated area 60 metres above Clausen and Neudorf.

The National Sports and Culture Centre d'Coque (French: Centre National Sportif et Culturel d'Coque), better known simply as d'Coque, (English: The Hull or The Shell) is a sporting and cultural venue with an indoor arena and Olympic-sized swimming pool, amongst other facilities, in Kirchberg, a quarter of Luxembourg City, in Luxembourg. More recently it has expanded into providing onsite hotel services, and acting as a conference venue.

Cents-Hamm railway station (Luxembourgish: Gare Zens-Hamm, French: Gare de Cents-Hamm, German: Bahnhof Cents-Hamm) is a railway station serving the quarters of Cents and Hamm in the east of Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 30, which connects Luxembourg City to the east of the country and Trier. It is the first stop east out of Luxembourg station, which is located on the other side of the Alzette valley.

Luxinnovation is the Luxembourg national innovation agency. It offers services to companies and public research actors in order to foster innovation, thus supporting the Government's economic development objectives. The agency also ensures that Luxembourg continues to attract international investment, companies and skills.

La Fontaine Castle (French: Château La Fontaine, German: Schloss La Fontaine Luxembourgish: Schlass La Fontaine) is the name of a former castle in Clausen, Luxembourg. The elaborate building was the residence of Peter Ernst I von Mansfeld-Vorderort, governor of Luxembourg, who began its construction in 1563 and continued to extend it until his death in 1604. For this reason, it is also known as the Palais Mansfeld or Mansfeld Palace. Almost nothing remains of it at present.

The Alcide de Gasperi Building is a skyscraper in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. At 77 m (253 ft) tall and with 23 floors, it was the tallest building in Luxembourg. It is located in Kirchberg, in the north-east of the city.

The Jean Monnet 2 building (also known as JMO2) is a future office complex for the European Commission under construction on Boulevard Konrad Adenauer in the European district of the Luxembourg City quarter of Kirchberg, Luxembourg. The complex is to be composed of a welcome pavilion and two office buildings to be completed in two phases respectively; an 8 storey 180 metre (m) long block and a 24 storey tower, connected at the basement and second storey levels. The first phase was expected to be completed by late February 2023, and the second phase by late February 2024. This timetable has been pushed back due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The first Jean Monnet building, opened in 1975, was demolished between 2016 and 2019, after exceeding its lifespan, and following the discovery of airborne traces of asbestos. The construction site combines some of the plot of the previous building with an adjacent former open air car park. Upon completion, the Jean Monnet 2 building will enable the European Commission to consolidate the majority of its Luxembourg-based staff on one site. Like its predecessor, the building's namesake is European Union (EU) founding father Jean Monnet.

Altmünster Abbey was a Benedictine monastery on the Plateau Altmünster, between the Fishmarket and Clausen areas of Luxembourg City.

The Philharmonie Luxembourg, also known officially as the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall (French: Salle de concerts grande-duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte, German: Konzertsaal Großherzogin Joséphine-Charlotte), is a concert hall located in the European district in the Luxembourg City quarter of Kirchberg. Opened in 2005, it now plays host to 400 performances each year.

The General Court, informally known as the European General Court (EGC), is a constituent court of the Court of Justice of the European Union. It hears actions taken against the institutions of the European Union by individuals and member states, although certain matters are reserved for the European Court of Justice. Decisions of the General Court can be appealed to the Court of Justice, but only on a point of law. Prior to the coming into force of the Lisbon Treaty on 1 December 2009, it was known as the Court of First Instance.

The Clausen German war cemetery (Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof Clausen in German) is a German military cemetery in Luxembourg City. The cemetery primarily contains remains from World War I and World War II; however it also contains military remains from the Belgian Revolution, the Prussian garrison located in the city between 1815–1867 and the Franco-Prussian War.

The Palais de la Cour de Justice is a building complex acting as the seat of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), located in the European district of the Luxembourg City quarter of Kirchberg. Today the Palais complex encompasses the original 1973 building, now known as the Ancien Palais, which houses the court rooms of the CJEU's Court of Justice, the Anneau building, encircling the Ancien Palais, which contains the judges chambers and deliberative rooms, the three tower buildings containing the CJEU's translation services, and the Gallery building, containing the CJEU's legal library and linking all the structures of the Palais complex with the renovated three annexes (Erasmus, Thomas More and Themis) originally constructed between 1978 and 1994 that now host the court rooms of the CJEU's General Court. The Palais' third tower, and latest extension to the complex, is the tallest building in Luxembourg, and, according to the CJEU, boasts the only skyscraper observation deck in the world with a view over four countries: Belgium, France, Germany and Luxembourg.
