Miesville ( MEEZ-vil) is a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 125 at the 2010 census.U.S. Highway 61 serves as a main route in the community. Minnesota Highways 20, 50, and 316 are nearby. Miesville is home to an amateur baseball team, the Miesville Mudhens, which participate in Town Team Baseball.

Miesville Ravine Park Reserve is a Dakota County park near the town of Miesville, Minnesota, United States. It preserves over 1,600 acres (6 km2) of biologically diverse land in the Cannon River valley. Most of the park is wooded with mature oak, maple, cottonwood, willow, red cedar, and white pine. A trout stream, Trout Brook, is located in the reserve.

Pachyderm Recording Studio is a residential music recording studio located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, United States, 35.8 mi (57.6 km) southeast of Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. It is located in a secluded old-growth forest in rural Minnesota. The studio was founded in 1988 by Jim Nickel, Mark Walk and Eric S. Anderson, with acoustic design by Bret Theney of Westlake Audio. It boasted the same Neve 8068 recording console that was used in Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios as well as Studer tape machines. The house was designed by Herb Bloomberg, architect of Old Log Theatre and founder of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. The studio went into a decline in the mid-2000s, after original co-owner Jim Nickel sold the property. It went into a state of disrepair for many years, though bands occasionally still recorded there. It was purchased by engineer John Kuker in 2011 out of foreclosure and remodeled over the next three years. Kuker died on February 2, 2015, at the age of 40. The studio is currently operational; the home, studio and grounds have been renovated. Musicians are able to use and record with the wide variety of musical equipment and guitars that Kuker collected.

Chimney Rock is a protected scientific and natural area in rural Dakota County, Minnesota. The area features a 30-foot-tall (9.1 m) sandstone rock pillar; the last remaining in the county.

The Cannon Valley Trail is a paved rail trail that follows the Cannon River in southeast Minnesota. The trail follows an abandoned Chicago Great Western Railway corridor for 20 miles (32 km) between Cannon Falls, Minnesota and Red Wing, Minnesota. In the spring, summer, and fall months, the trail is open to hiking, biking, and inline skating. In the winter months, the trail is groomed for cross-country skiing. Points of interest on the trail include the Cannon River, wildlife management areas, a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) mountain-bike trail, Welch Village ski area, and the Red Wing archaeological preserve. The trail is managed by a joint powers board consisting of representatives from Cannon Falls, Red Wing and Goodhue County, Minnesota.

New Trier ( NEW CHREER) is a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 112 at the 2010 census. Minnesota Highway 50 serves as a main route in the community.

The Church of Saint Mary's is a 1909 Beaux-Arts Catholic church, located at 8433 239th Street East, New Trier in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The bright red building sits high on a hill overlooking the town, which was settled by German immigrants from Trier. The immigrants began arriving in 1854, and in 1857, they built a log church. In 1864, they built a larger stone church on a hill above the town.In 1909 the congregation decided to build a new, larger church. George J. Ries of St. Paul, who also designed the Church of St. Agnes, used a Beaux-Arts style for the new church. It is built of red brick and can be seen for miles, being perched on a hilltop. The cornerstone from the old church is installed in the vestibule, and a five-foot tall statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1862 is located in a shrine above the main entrance.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its association with the German immigrants who almost exclusively populated southeastern Dakota County in the second half of the 20th century.

Cannon Falls Township is a township in Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,236 at the 2000 census. Cannon Falls Township was organized in 1858, and named for the falls on the Cannon River.

Third Street Bridge is a historic bridge over the Cannon River in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, United States. It is a Pennsylvania through truss bridge constructed of steel. The bridge is 184.3 feet (56.2 m) long and 17.7 feet (5.4 m) wide. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It is also part of the "Iron and Steel Bridges in Minnesota" Multiple Property Nomination.The Minnesota Highway Commission did not have design control over many bridges built in the state in the early 20th century, but they were able to influence the plans via financial incentives. Louis P. Wolff, who also designed Bridge No. 12 in Goodhue County, designed the plans for this bridge, and the city of Cannon Falls sought funding from the state. The state highway commission made some minor changes to the plans before approving them. The Pennsylvania through truss design is relatively uncommon in Minnesota.An August 2014 report on the bridge points out that the bridge is in fair to poor condition and is posted with a weight limit of 5 tons. When the bridge was inspected, the stringers and floorbeams were corroded, the paint was failing, the bridge bearings were frozen in place, and the concrete abutments and wing walls were scaled and cracked.

The Firemen's Hall in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, at 206 W. Mill St., was built in 1888. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was built after fires in 1884 and 1887 devastated the town's business district. It is an 1888 fire station reflecting the peril from and response to fires in the period's communities.In 2012, it was the Cannon Falls Area Historical Society's museum.It is a two-story 24 by 35 feet (7.3 m × 10.7 m) limestone building with some elements of Italianate style.It was the Cannon Falls Library from 1953 to 1976.
