Third Street Bridge (Cannon Falls, Minnesota)

The Little Cannon River is a 30.6-mile-long (49.2 km) river of Minnesota in the United States. It flows into the Cannon River at the city of Cannon Falls. A section of the Little Cannon River south of Sogn, Minnesota is a designated trout stream by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The Church of the Redeemer is a historic Episcopal church located at 123 Third Street North in Cannon Falls in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The building was built with limestone and wood in 1867.Episcopal families started meeting in private homes for about eight years before they decided to build a church. The minister traveled from Hastings, by foot or by horseback, for about 18 miles (29 km). In 1866, the congregation decided to build a church. Christopher Doner drew up the plans, while Lester Bancroft did the masonry. The stone was Platteville Limestone quarried from a farm north of Cannon Falls. Bishop Henry Benjamin Whipple laid the cornerstone on June 28, 1866. When the church was complete, at a cost of about $3500, Bishop Whipple returned on May 1, 1867, to consecrate the church.On February 12, 1980, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Firemen's Hall in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, at 206 W. Mill St., was built in 1888. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was built after fires in 1884 and 1887 devastated the town's business district. It is an 1888 fire station reflecting the peril from and response to fires in the period's communities.In 2012, it was the Cannon Falls Area Historical Society's museum.It is a two-story 24 by 35 feet (7.3 m × 10.7 m) limestone building with some elements of Italianate style.It was the Cannon Falls Library from 1953 to 1976.

Pachyderm Recording Studio is a residential music recording studio located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, United States, 35.8 mi (57.6 km) southeast of Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. It is located in a secluded old-growth forest in rural Minnesota. The studio was founded in 1988 by Jim Nickel, Mark Walk and Eric S. Anderson, with acoustic design by Bret Theney of Westlake Audio. It boasted the same Neve 8068 recording console that was used in Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios as well as Studer tape machines. The house was designed by Herb Bloomberg, architect of Old Log Theatre and founder of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. The studio went into a decline in the mid-2000s, after original co-owner Jim Nickel sold the property. It went into a state of disrepair for many years, though bands occasionally still recorded there. It was purchased by engineer John Kuker in 2011 out of foreclosure and remodeled over the next three years. Kuker died on February 2, 2015, at the age of 40. The studio is currently operational; the home, studio and grounds have been renovated. Musicians are able to use and record with the wide variety of musical equipment and guitars that Kuker collected.

Lake Byllesby Dam is a concrete gravity dam located in Randolph Township, Dakota County and Stanton Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, just west of the city of Cannon Falls. It is approximately 30 miles (48 km) southeast of the Twin Cities. The 75-foot (23 m)-high dam was built in 1910 by H.M. Byllesby & Company to impound the Cannon River for hydroelectric power. Its nameplate capacity is 1.8 MW. Byllesby, a former employee of both Edison and Westinghouse, formed what would become Northern States Power in 1909.The dam created Lake Byllesby, with a surface area of 1,432 acres (580 ha) and a capacity of 20,000 acre-feet (25,000,000 m3). The facility is owned and operated by Dakota County.

Cannon Falls Township is a township in Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,236 at the 2000 census. Cannon Falls Township was organized in 1858, and named for the falls on the Cannon River.

Randolph Township is a township in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 536 at the 2000 census. Randolph Township was organized in 1858, and named for John Randolph of Roanoke.

Minnesota's 2nd congressional district covers the south Twin Cities metro area and contains all of Scott, Dakota, and Le Sueur counties. It also contains part of northern and eastern Rice County including the city of Northfield, as well as southern Washington County including the city of Cottage Grove. Lakeville and Eagan are the largest cities in the district. Historically, for many decades in the mid 20th century the 2nd congressional district covered the southwest corner of the state, while the 1st congressional district covered most of this part of the state. Three of Minnesota's most important rivers run through the district, the Mississippi River, the Minnesota River, and the St. Croix River. Interstate highways I-35 E and I-35 W merge in the district in addition to the north–south thoroughfares of U.S. Routes 169, 61, and 52 and the east–west Route 212. The suburban areas in the northern part of the district blend into the rural farmland in the south. The district's economy includes agriculture, small businesses, and large corporations. Some of the largest employers in the district are Thomson Reuters, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, 3M, Cambria, and Red Wing Shoes. The district includes Pine Bend Refinery, the largest oil refinery in Minnesota, owned by Koch Industries. The 2nd district is also home to two private liberal arts colleges: St. Olaf and Carleton, both in Northfield. Shakopee is home to Minnesota's largest amusement park, Valleyfair, as well as Canterbury Park. Two of Minnesota's oldest cities, Hastings and Red Wing are in the district. The district hosts heritage festivals and town celebrations, such as Kolacky days in Montgomery, the Pine Island Cheese festival, and Shakopee Derby Days. Minnesota's 2nd congressional district is currently represented by Democrat Angie Craig, who defeated incumbent Republican Jason Lewis in the 2018 election. The district is considered to be highly competitive.

Lake Byllesby is a 1,432-acre (580 ha) artificial lake on the Cannon River in Dakota and Goodhue counties, in the U.S. State of Minnesota. The lake was formed as a result of construction of the Byllesby Dam by the H.M. Byllesby & Company, which would later become Northern States Power Company for hydroelectric power generation. Today, the lake serves as a popular recreational destination and is the largest lake in Southern Dakota County, approximately 30 miles (48 km) southeast of the Twin Cities. The Lake Byllesby Regional Park, operated by Dakota County Parks & Trails Department offers several boat launch facilities, RV and tent campground, hiking/biking trails, picnic areas, and a swimming beach on the northeast part of the lake. Goodhue County also operates a small park on the southeast part of the lake with picnic areas and a boat launch.The lake area is designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society for its importance for bird habitat in the Cannon River Valley.

Stanton Township is a township in Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,130 at the 2010 census. Stanton Township was organized in 1858, and named for William Stanton, an early settler.

New Trier ( NEW CHREER) is a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 112 at the 2010 census. Minnesota Highway 50 serves as a main route in the community.

The Church of Saint Mary's is a 1909 Beaux-Arts Catholic church, located at 8433 239th Street East, New Trier in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The bright red building sits high on a hill overlooking the town, which was settled by German immigrants from Trier. The immigrants began arriving in 1854, and in 1857, they built a log church. In 1864, they built a larger stone church on a hill above the town.In 1909 the congregation decided to build a new, larger church. George J. Ries of St. Paul, who also designed the Church of St. Agnes, used a Beaux-Arts style for the new church. It is built of red brick and can be seen for miles, being perched on a hilltop. The cornerstone from the old church is installed in the vestibule, and a five-foot tall statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1862 is located in a shrine above the main entrance.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its association with the German immigrants who almost exclusively populated southeastern Dakota County in the second half of the 20th century.
