Inkster, Michigan

The Malcolm X House, also known as the Wilfred and Ruth Little House, is a private house located at 4336 Williams Street in Inkster, Michigan. It is significant for its association with African American Civil Rights leader Malcolm X, who lived here with his brother Wilfred Little in 1952-53. The building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.

Inkster High School was a high school in Inkster, Michigan in Metro Detroit. It was a part of Inkster Public Schools.

Eloise Cemetery was the name applied to cemeteries used by the Eloise hospital complex located in what was then Nankin Township in western Wayne County, Michigan, and is now Westland, Michigan. The patients buried in the cemetery were from the Infirmary Division, the William P. Seymour General Hospital, the T.B. Sanitarium and the Eloise Hospital (Psychiatric Division). The majority of burials were from the Infirmary Division which was the largest of the three divisions, housing up to 7,000 patients at a time. Most burials were of adult males, but there are women and a few infants and children.

Eloise Psychiatric Hospital was a large complex located in Westland, Michigan. It was named after Eloise Dickerson Davock, the daughter of Detroit's postmaster. It operated from 1839 to early 1982. Starting out as a poor house and farm, it eventually developed into an asylum, sanatorium and hospital. In 1832 it was called the Wayne County Poorhouse; in 1872 it was the Wayne County Alms House; in 1886 it was referred to simply as the Wayne County House. In 1913 there were three divisions: The Eloise Hospital (Mental Hospital), the Eloise Infirmary (Poorhouse) and the Eloise Sanatorium (T.B. Hospital) which were collectively called Eloise. In 1945 it was named Wayne County General Hospital and Infirmary at Eloise, Michigan. In 1974 it had two divisions - the Wayne County General Hospital and the Wayne County Psychiatric Hospital. In 1979 it was officially called Wayne County General Hospital with the psychiatric division closing in 1982. In its prime, Eloise consisted of 78 buildings on 902 acres with 10,000 patients along with 2,000 staff. It was the largest psychiatric facility in the United States. Only five of the 78 buildings and the Eloise Cemetery remain. The firehouse, power plant, commissary and D buildings still stand as of July, 2023. The bakery was burned down due to arson in 2020.

The Annapolis Park Historic District is a historic district located along Julius, Matthew, Hanover, Farnum, Alan, and Paul Streets in Westland, Michigan, covering 71 acres (290,000 m2) and 354 buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

William Ganong Cemetery is a cemetery located in Westland, Michigan, USA. It is named after a local farmer who set aside a portion of his farm land for burials in 1832. It contains approximately 350 interments. It is currently owned by Wayne County and no longer open for further burials. The cemetery's main claim to fame is having a reputation among ghost enthusiasts, who consider the grounds to be haunted. Many visitors to the cemetery have reported seeing apparitions flitting among the headstones, and there has even been several minor car accidents on the road near the cemetery, with people claiming that they saw something run out into the road in front of them.[1]

Crestwood High School or CHS is a public, magnet high school in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. It was founded in 1960 and is located on Beech Daly Road between Ford Road and Cherry Hill Road. It is a part of the Crestwood School District.

The Henry Ford Square House (also known as the Henry Ford Honeymoon House) is a single-family house located at 29835 Beechwood Avenue in Garden City, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1979 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Dearborn Hills is a golf course built in 1922–23 by the late Robert Herndon, a prominent local developer and benefactor. It is reputed to be Michigan's oldest public golf course and is listed in the State Register of Historic Sites. In the summer of 1991 it closed to undergo a nearly $5 million renovation and expansion. The resulting new course was named "Michigan's Best Public Golf Course" by Detroit News readers and awarded 3½ stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places To Play".

Divine Child High School, commonly known as Divine Child (DC), is a private, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory, parochical high school in Dearborn, Michigan, United States. Divine Child is a highly ranked private high school in Michigan, scoring in the top 15 percent of private schools in the State. Notably, it is the seventh-largest private high school, and the largest co-educational Catholic high school in the State.The school is located on a 20-acre campus that includes a new athletic complex and fitness center, which was financed through an ongoing capital campaign that has raised five million in capital to date.
