Wisch, Gelderland

Schlinge is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and Gelderland, Netherlands. Dutch names are Boven-Slinge and Bielheimerbeek. Its source is between Gescher and Stadtlohn. It flows generally west through Südlohn, Winterswijk, Bredevoort, Aalten and Varsseveld. It flows into the Oude IJssel between Gaanderen and Doetinchem.

Oosseld or Oosselt, also known as De Bloemenbuurt is a district within, and former hamlet (buurtschap) of the municipality of Doetinchem, located in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Until 1919 Oosseld belonged to the municipality Ambt Doetinchem. Koekendaal and Ter Gun are also part of Ooseld.

Doetinchem Stadion was a stop on the Winterswijk–Zevenaar railway in Doetinchem, Netherlands. It was for spectators going to the De Graafschap football club's De Vijverberg stadium. It was opened in 1992 and was only used for important matches. It closed in 2005, but the platform still exists.

Etten is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, 7 km southeast of Doetinchem. Etten was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Gendringen.

Gaanderen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Doetinchem. The number of inhabitants is around 5,575 (2020).It was first mentioned around 1200 as de Gernere, and means "tapering land on a sandy ridge".Gaanderen was home to 482 people in 1840. The St Martinus Church dates from 1913 and is a replacement of a 1854 church. The tower of the old church remained.

Doetinchem is a railway station located in Doetinchem, Netherlands. The station was opened on 15 July 1885 and is located on the Winterswijk–Zevenaar railway. The station is operated by Arriva and Breng. In Doetinchem there is also Doetinchem De Huet railway station to the west of this station. From 1885 to 1937, it was also the start of the branch to Ruurlo. From Doetinchem station it is a 10-minute walk north to the town centre. In a Railpro survey in 2005, there were approximately 3590 passengers per day using Doetinchem station.

Benninkmolen is a smock mill in Doetinchem, Gelderland, Netherlands which was built in 1921 and has been restored to working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument.

Ambt Doetinchem is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It consisted of the countryside surrounding the city of Doetinchem, which belonged to the separate municipality of Stad Doetinchem. Ambt Doetinchem was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1920, when it merged with Stad Doetinchem.

Doetinchem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdutɪŋxəm] ; Low Saxon: Deutekem) is a city and municipality in the east of the Netherlands. It is situated along the Oude IJssel (Old IJssel) river in a part of the province of Gelderland called the Achterhoek. The municipality had a population of 58,270 in 2021 and consists of an area of 79.66 km2 (30.76 sq mi) of which 0.61 km2 (0.24 sq mi) is water. This makes Doetinchem the largest town (by population) in the Achterhoek. On 1 January 2005, a municipal restructuring merged the neighbouring municipality of Wehl as well as the Zelhelmse Broek area with Doetinchem.

Stad Doetinchem is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It consisted of the city of Doetinchem and its immediate surroundings. The larger surrounding countryside was a separate municipality, called Ambt Doetinchem. Stad Doetinchem existed until 1920, when it merged with Ambt Doetinchem to form a single municipality Doetinchem.

Terborg is a small city in the Dutch province of Gelderland, in the Achterhoek region in the east of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek. The city lies about 7 km southeast of Doetinchem. The population is about 4600 inhabitants. Terborg is situated on the river the Oude IJssel. In the centre of the little city lies Castle Wisch, founded in the 13th century (hence the name "Terborg" which means "by the castle"). In the southeast of the city, near Silvolde lies a small nature reserve called the Paasberg ("Easter Mountain"). Terborg has a train station on the train route Arnhem - Winterswijk, and trains call here twice every hour. Terborg received city rights in 1419. The patron saint of the city is Saint George. Its coat of arms still is Saint George on a horse, killing a dragon. Until 1813, Terborg was part of the fiefdom Wisch, together with the villages Silvolde en Varsseveld. Terborg was a separate municipality until 1818 when it was merged with Varsseveld into municipality Wisch (equal to the ancient fiefdom). In 2005 it formed municipality Oude IJsselstreek with municipality Gendringen.In 1945, the town's Chasdei Enosh synagogue was blown up and destroyed by Nazis. An exact replica of the historic building opened on 7 June 2018 in Mevo Horon Israel, inaugurated by Israeli descendants of Dutch Jews. The old synagogue, on the Silvoldeseweg, was built in 1901.
