The Thessaloniki International Fair (Greek: Διεθνής Έκθεση Θεσσαλονίκης, Diethnis Ekthesi Thessalonikis), abbreviated TIF (ΔΕΘ), is an annual international exhibition event held in Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city. It has been held in the first week of September since 1926, and its opening is traditionally marked by a series of programmatical statements by the Prime Minister of Greece. The 2020 fair was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first cancellation since WW2.

MOMus Contemporary, in full MOMus–Museum of Contemporary Art–Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and State Museum of Contemporary Art Collections, is a contemporary art museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece, located in the area of the Thessaloniki International Fair. It was formerly known as the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art (MMCA, Greek: Μακεδονικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, ΜΜΣΤ).

OTE Tower is a 76-metre-tall tower located in the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center in central Thessaloniki, Greece. The tower opened in 1966 and was renovated in 2005. The tower was designed by Greek architect Alexandros Anastasiadis and was completed in 1965, with the first black and white broadcasts on a Greek television network taking place from the tower in 1971. The tower was also used in the 1970s to support the antennas of an experimental VHF analogue mobile telephone network. Today it is used by the Cosmote cellular mobile telephone network. The tower today, other than its status as a modern monument of the city and its use by Cosmote, opens up for events and exhibitions during the Thessaloniki International Fair, while the Skyline Café-Bar, a revolving restaurant operates year-round on the top floor.

The Cemetery Basilica is an Early Christian basilica church located at Tritis Septemvriou Street in Thessaloniki, Greece. Only a portion of the building has been excavated, as the rest lies underneath the buildings of the Thessaloniki International Fair. The new Museum of Byzantine Culture is also located nearby.The church is a three-aisled basilica. Its date of construction is unknown, but a number of coins dating from the period AD 380–450 have been excavated around it, making the church a 5th-century construction. The building survived intact until the 7th century, when it was destroyed during one of the barbarian assaults on the city. The church is connected to the nearby martyrion of Alexander of Pydna, and features also a kyklion – an unusual subterranean corridor underneath the sanctuary, probably connected with the cult of the martyrs.

Panepistimio (Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο, literally University) is an under-construction metro station serving Thessaloniki Metro's Line 1 and Line 2. The station is named after the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; it also serves the University of Macedonia. Construction of the station has been delayed by major archaeological finds, and it is designated as a mid-importance archaeological site by Attiko Metro, the company overseeing its construction. It is expected to enter service in 2023. Panepistimio station appears in the 1988 Thessaloniki Metro proposal, and construction of a 650 m (2,130 ft) section of the system began here in the same year before being abandoned due to lack of funding.

The University of Macedonia (UoM; Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Μακεδονίας (Πα.Μακ.), Panepistímio Makedonías (Pa.Mak.)) is a public research university in Thessaloniki, Macedonia, Greece. It is a modern institution, renowned for the quality, freedom, democracy, meritocracy and individual development it provides to its members.Founded as School of Higher Industrial Studies of Thessaloniki (in Greek: Ανώτατη Βιομηχανική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης) in 1948 and started its first operation during the academic year 1957–1958, it is the second largest university in the city (following the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). It currently consists of eight departments which deal mainly with social, political, economic sciences and Information Technology.The language of instruction is Greek, although there are programs in foreign languages,courses and for international and local students, carried out in English, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian and Arabic.

The Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is considered one of the most prestigious Greek law schools. It is ranked first among the Greek law schools and is considered one of the 200 best law schools in the world.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.; often called the Aristotelian University or University of Thessaloniki; Greek: Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης) is the sixth oldest, and among the most highly ranked, tertiary education institution within Greece. Named after the philosopher Aristotle, who was born in Stageira, about 55 km (34 miles) east of Thessaloniki, it is the largest university in Greece and its campus covers 230,000 square metres in the centre of Thessaloniki, with additional educational and administrative facilities elsewhere.As of 2014, there is a student population of approximately 40,000 active students enrolled at the university (31,000 at the undergraduate level and 9,000 in postgraduate programmes of which 3,952 at Doctoral level) and 2,366 faculty members. There are additionally 248 members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Personnel and 213 members of the Special Technical Laboratory Personnel. The administrative staff consists of 400 permanent employees and 528 subcontractor employees that are contracted by the university.The language of instruction is Greek, although there are programs in foreign languages and courses for international students, which are carried out in English, French, German and Italian.

The Film School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is a higher educational film school in Greece. It offers a five years 1st and 2nd circle program leading to an Integrated Master degree in Film.

The Jewish cemetery of Salonica was established in the late fifteenth century by Sephardic Jews fleeing the expulsion of Jews from Spain, covered around 350,000 square metres (3,800,000 sq ft) and contained almost 500,000 burials. The cemetery's expropriation was envisioned in the urban redevelopment plan following the 1917 Great Fire of Thessaloniki, but strongly opposed by the Jewish community as disturbing the graves violated Jewish law. The cemetery was finally destroyed in December 1942 by the municipality of Thessaloniki as part of the Holocaust in Greece during the Axis occupation of Greece. The headstones were used as building materials around the city, including for Greek Orthodox churches, while the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was built on the grounds. The Jewish community never received compensation for the expropriation of the land, valued at 1.5 billion drachmas in 1943.

The War Museum of Thessaloniki (Greek: Πολεμικό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης Polemiko Mousio Thessalonikis) is a military museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. Thessaloniki War Museum opened in October 2000. It is housed in a building designed by architect Vitaliano Poselli and erected between 1900 and 1902. The museum's mission is to help preserve military historical memory and heritage in Northern Greece. The permanent collections show events which were a watershed in Modern Greek history from the turn of the 20th century to the liberation of Greece from German forces at the end of World War II. They include photographs of the era, Hellenic army, air force and navy uniforms, weapons of the army, replicas of artillery and ships, works of art, stone engravings, maps, paintings, postcards, and similar items from the armies of other Balkan countries. These exhibits give insight to the Balkan Wars, World War I, the Asia Minor Campaign, the Greco-Italian War, the Battle of the Forts in eastern Macedonia, the Battle of Crete, the Occupation and the Resistance, the part played by Greek forces in Allied action in North Africa, Italy and Normandy, as well as the liberation from the forces of occupation. In addition to exhibition spaces, the War Museum has an amphitheatre, a multi-purpose hall, a library of writings on history and war, and a giftshop.

The Museum of Byzantine Culture (Greek: Μουσείο Βυζαντινού Πολιτισμού) is a museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece, which opened in 1994.
