Kaatsheuvel

De Molen is a defunct restaurant in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2008 and retained that rating until 2014. On 14 July 2014 it was announced that the restaurant was closed with immediate effect due to bankruptcy. The economic crisis and the expensive location proved fatal for the restaurant.In 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.Head chef of De Molen was Wouter van Laarhoven. Maître Jerry van der Pluijm was the owner of the restaurant, which he opened in 2000.De restaurant was housed in the former storage area of corn mill De Couwenbergh. This mill was built in 1849 but burned down and was repaired in 1881. In 1944, the mill was renewed only to be severely damaged in October 1944 during the liberation of Kaatsheuvel. Due to lack of funds, the mill was dismantled in 1950 and the milling was done with power of a diesel engine. The mill was sold in 1994 and the new owner wanted to have a windmill again. After a long and costly renovation, the mill was working again in 1998.

Waalwijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋaːlʋɛik] ) is a municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands. It had a population of 48,815 in 2021 and is located near the A59 and N261 motorways. The villages of Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle, Sprang (the former municipality of Sprang-Capelle) and Waspik together with the city of Waalwijk form the municipality of Waalwijk. Sprang-Capelle is a former municipality in the North Brabant province of the Netherlands. It was formed in 1923 as a merger of the municipalities of Sprang, Vrijhoeve-Capelle and 's Grevelduin-Capelle. The People of Laaf is an attraction in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and opened its doors in 1990. It is a small village, called “Lavelaer”, inhabited by the so-called “Laafs” ("Laven" in Dutch). The visitors can walk through the village and enter the houses, among which a bakery, a brewery, a windmill and a nursery and watch the Laafs do their normal daily activities. A monorail of 450 meters in length runs through the village at an altitude of about 3 meters. In the early years, riders had to pedal the monorail. This was discontinued because of the possibility of "crashing" into each other. Furthermore, if a rider stopped pedaling, the ride could be blocked for other visitors.For the children there are slides and distorting mirrors. Little statues of Laaf people engaged in various activities were for sale in the souvenir shops in Efteling, but also in several garden centres until 2004.
