Manchester North was one of six single-member Parliamentary constituencies created in 1885 by the division of the existing three-member Parliamentary Borough of Manchester. It was abolished in 1918.

Blackley and Broughton (Blayk-lee and Brore-tun) is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Graham Stringer. He was first elected in 1997 for the former Manchester Blackley and prior to this was Leader of Manchester City Council. The constituency covers north Manchester and east Salford. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to major boundary changes, including the loss of its two City of Salford wards (Broughton) and the addition of two Borough of Rochdale wards (Middleton South). Accordingly, the seat will be renamed Blackley and Middleton South, to be first contested at the next general election.

Manchester, Blackley was a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which existed from 1918 to 2010. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. In boundary changes for the 2010 general election it was replaced by Blackley and Broughton.

Monsall is a tram stop on the Oldham and Rochdale Line (ORL) of Greater Manchester's light-rail Metrolink system in the Monsall area of Manchester in North West England. The Oldham and Rochdale line was built as part of Phase 3a of the system's expansion, on most of the route of the former Oldham Loop Line, and opened to passengers on 13 June 2012.However, this station in particular is on the ex-Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway's Cheetham Hill Loop line between the former Thorpe's Bridge Junction (near Newton Heath TMD) and Irk Valley Junction, where the Oldham route joins the line from Bury en route to Victoria. This line had previously been used by Manchester to Rochdale and Leeds services via the Caldervale Line to avoid the notorious Miles Platting incline and also by trains accessing the Red Bank carriage sidings until its closure in 1998 as part of the Manchester North re-signalling scheme.

The Queen's Park Hippodrome was a theatre in Harpurhey, Manchester, England. It was built on the site of an old tramshed and opened on 25 April 1904. It initially staged variety, dramas, pantomimes, and revues, which gave way to "sizzlingly saucy" French variety acts towards the end of the theatre's life.Like many other theatres of the period, the increasing competition from cinema resulted in its closure in 1952, and the building was eventually demolished in 1966.The theatre was part of the Broadhead Circuit of 17 theatres at its peak, which had its head quarters at Hulme Hippodrome.

Miles Platting railway station served the district of Miles Platting in Manchester from 1844 until closure on 27 May 1995. The station was opened on 1 January 1844 by the Manchester and Leeds Railway; after amalgamating with other railways, this became the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in 1847. The station was situated at the junction of the lines to Stalybridge (opened 1846) and Rochdale (opened 1839), and had platforms on both routes. Little trace remains of the station today, as the platforms were removed and the buildings demolished after closure. However, a length of platform awning has been re-erected at Ramsbottom station on the preserved East Lancs Railway.

Central Park is a tram stop on the Oldham and Rochdale Line (ORL) of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. It opened to passengers on 13 June 2012 as part of Phase 3a of Metrolink's expansion, and is located in the Newton Heath area of Manchester, England. The station was constructed in 2005 but was unused until 2012.The station serves the Central Park area, an urban renewal development project in north-east Manchester which includes the new headquarters of Greater Manchester Police and the Sharp Project. The station forms part of The Gateway, a £36.5 million transport interchange which will include local bus services as well as the Metrolink tram stop.

Manchester Communication Academy is a secondary school in Harpurhey, Manchester which opened in September 2010 and specialises in communication-related subjects including speaking and listening, languages, drama, media and presentation skills, and information communication technology.

Manchester Central corps of the Salvation Army is the main Salvation Army church (corps) in the city of Manchester. Located on the University of Manchester campus, the corps has a strong African flavour with a number of the congregation coming from Zimbabwe, together with its Shona-speaking choir. Other nationalities worshiping there are/have included Zambian, Eritrean, Korean, Liberian, Italian, Namibian and Nigerian, as well as British members. There is a strong outreach to students of the University of Manchester.

Boggart Hole Brook is a river in Blackley, Manchester, England, which a tributary of the River Irk. It rises in Boggart Hole Clough, near the main lake, and has a length of just over a mile.

Boggart Hole Clough is a large woodland and urban country park in Blackley, a suburb of Manchester, England. It occupies an area of approximately 76 hectares (190 acres), part of an ancient woodland, with picturesque cloughs varying from steep ravines to sloping gullies. Clough is a local dialect word for a steep sided, wooded valley. Boggart Hole Clough was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2008.Historically, local activists used Boggart Hole Clough for open air meetings but in 1896, when Manchester City Council acquired the land they tried to stop these meetings by fining speakers. The speakers rebelled by refusing to pay the fines and the publicity increased audiences from hundreds to tens of thousands. National figures began to attend, including Keir Hardie. A women's suffrage demonstration of 15,000 was held at Boggart Hole Clough on 15 July 1906 where a group of men caused a disturbance that was reported in the Manchester Guardian. Veteran suffragist campaigner Elizabeth Clarke Wolstenholme Elmy attended and wrote an account of being caught up in the scrum. The park stages a number of cross-country events and mountain bike rides, along with summer fundays and an annual bonfire and firework display. It also provides facilities for a number of other activities, ranging from boating to athletics. Boggart Hole Clough featured in the childhood memories of ex-Manchester City footballer Fred Eyre in his autobiography "Kicked Into Touch", who lived in the adjacent Clough Top Road. It has been claimed that the clough is haunted by a boggart, a mischievous spirit found mainly in Lancashire and Yorkshire, perhaps in an attempt to explain the unusual name. In 2008, Boggart Hole Clough attained the Green Flag Award for the eighth consecutive year.Boggart Hole Brook rises in the clough.
