Galien, Michigan

Galien Township is a civil township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 1,452. The village of Galien is located within the township. The township is in the south central portion of the county. Three Oaks Township is to the west and northwest, Weesaw Township to the north, Buchanan Township to the northeast, and Bertrand Township to the east. Indiana is to the south, with Olive Township in St. Joseph County to the southeast and Hudson Township in LaPorte County to the southwest.

Haven Hubbard Home, also known as Hamilton Grove, is a historic sanitarium and national historic district located in Olive Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. The district encompasses six contributing buildings and one contributing site on a former sanitarium originally developed as a working farm. It was developed between about 1860 and 1961, and includes examples of Second Empire, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Collegiate Gothic architecture. Notable buildings include the Hubbard Homestead Home (c. 1860 /c. 1895), Homestead Shed (c. 1880), Homestead Barn (c. 1880), Pump House (c. 1860), Epp Hall (1922, 1964, 1984), and Haven Hubbard Home Parsonage (1960).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

New Carlisle was a South Shore Line flag stop located at the corner of Arch and Zigler Streets in New Carlisle, Indiana. The station opened circa 1908 and was built by the Chicago, South Bend and Northern Indiana Railway whose line was immediately north of the South Shore Line. Both lines used the station until the Northern Indiana Railway abandoned its South Bend–Michigan City line leaving the South Shore as the sole occupant. The station remained in service on the South Shore Line until July 5, 1994, when it was closed as part of an NICTD service revision which also saw the closure of Ambridge, Kemil Road, Willard Avenue, LaLumiere, and Rolling Prairie.
