The Gideon Welles House is a historic house at 17 Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Built in 1783, it was home to generations of the locally prominent Welles family, whose most famous member was Gideon Welles, the United States Secretary of the Navy under Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War. Now re-adapted to commercial uses, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Academy School is a former school complex located in Glastonbury, Connecticut, United States. It was discontinued for school use in 2001 with the opening of the Smith Middle School and renovation of the Gideon Welles School. From 1974–2001, Academy School was the town's sixth-grade school, although it housed some fifth-grade students as well for many years. Among many other uses, Academy also served as the Glastonbury High School from 1923–1952.

The Glastonbury Historic District encompasses a streetscape dating to the 17th century, along Main St. from Hebron Ave. to Talcott Rd. in Glastonbury, Connecticut. In addition to a significant number of 17th and 18th-century houses, it shows the architectural development of the town over time, with buildings spanning three centuries in construction dates. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Curtisville Historic District encompasses a predominantly residential area along Naubuc Avenue and Pratt Streets in northwestern Glastonbury, Connecticut. Developed mainly in the 19th century, it illustrates the coexistence of agricultural and industrial pursuits in a single village area, mixing worker housing, former farm properties, and a small mill complex. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The J. B. Williams Co. Historic District encompasses a historic 19th-century factory complex and related family housing in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Located on and around Hubbard, Williams, and Willieb Streets, the area includes a mid-19th century frame factory as well as later brick buildings, and houses belonging to its owners, members of the Williams family. The soap factory operated by the Williamses was one of the otherwise agrarian town's largest economic forces until its mid-20th century decline. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Glastonbury High School is a public, co-educational high school located in Glastonbury, Connecticut, United States. It is the only high school in Glastonbury, and serves roughly 2,000 students and employs roughly 150 faculty members. The school is known for its excellent education, and is consistently ranked among the best in Connecticut and the nation.

The Kimberly Mansion is a historic house at 1625 Main Street in Glastonbury, Connecticut. It was the home of Abby and Julia Evelina Smith, political activists involved in causes including abolitionism and women's suffrage. By contesting the assessment on their property and protesting against "taxation without representation," they brought international attention to the cause of women's rights.

The Naubuc Avenue-Broad Street Historic District encompasses a largely agrarian village area of southwestern East Hartford, Connecticut. Extending along Naubuc Avenue from the Glastonbury line to Broad Street, and along Broad to Main Street, its architecture encapsulates the area's history between the 18th and early 20th centuries. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Z Rink was an indoor roller hockey facility located in Glastonbury, Connecticut (a suburb of Hartford), in the United States. It was the home arena of the Killingworth Guppies, known as America’s Favorite NonProfessional Sports Franchise and for their numerous League Championships. Also the Connecticut Blaze of the PIHA and Hartford Fire Ants of the American Inline Hockey League. The rink announced it would close at the end of November 2012, after the building was sold.

The Selden Brewer House is a historic house at Naubuc Avenue and Main Street in East Hartford, Connecticut. Built about 1827, it is a good local example of late Federal/early Greek Revival architecture. It was built and owned for many years by a prominent local tobacco-growing family. Originally located on High Street, it was moved to its present location in the 1980s, and now houses offices of the local historical society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Putnam Bridge is a bridge in the state of Connecticut carrying the Route 3 Expressway over the Connecticut River, connecting Interstate 91 in Wethersfield and Route 2 in Glastonbury. It is the southernmost crossing of the Connecticut River in the Hartford Area and carries an average of 50,800 vehicles per day.[1]The bridge was built in the late 1950s as part of the Route 3 connector between Interstate 91 and Connecticut Route 2. It originally terminated at Main Street in Glastonbury, rather than at Route 2. It was expected to be expanded to a double-decker in the early 1970s as part of the planned Interstate 491, a southeastern bypass around Hartford from Wethersfield to East Hartford. However, the project was cancelled in 1973. In the late 1980s, the expressway portion of Route 3 was extended to terminate at Route 2. In 2013, the bridge underwent a $15 million rehabilitation project, which repaved the roadbed, repainted the girders, added new lighting fixtures and a new pedestrian walkway.

Connecticut IB Academy (CIBA) is an interdistrict magnet school located in East Hartford, Connecticut. It is next door to East Hartford High School; the two are connected by a bridge. The Connecticut IB Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12 and the Middle Years Programme in grades 9 and 10. The school is located on the campus of East Hartford High School and the two schools share the same bell schedule, allowing students to take classes in either building. CIBA students also participate in all athletics, band orchestra and drama programs at East Hartford High School. CIBA's current principal is Kathleen Simoneau. CIBA is part of the East Hartford Public School system and is under the jurisdiction of Mr. Nathan Quesnel, Superintendent of East Hartford Public Schools. CIBA is a distinguished Blue Ribbon School, ranked among the best in America by the U.S. Department of Education. In 2009, CIBA was recognized by Magnet Schools of America as "the top secondary magnet school in the country."
