East Longmeadow, Massachusetts

First Congregational Church of East Longmeadow is a historic church in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Built in 1828, it is the oldest church building in East Longmeadow, and houses its oldest congregation. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The congregation is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

The Elijah Burt House is a historic house at 201 Chestnut Street in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Built sometime between 1720 and 1740, it is believed to be the oldest surviving building in the town, and a station on the Underground Railroad. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

East Longmeadow High School is a public high school located in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only secondary school (high school) in the East Longmeadow School District. It enrolls 833 students. On November 7, 2023, the residents of East Longmeadow voted in favor of a debt exclusion which will allocate funds to build a brand new high school and pool. The project is expected to begin in summer of 2024, with the goal of the new building being ready for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Swetland-Pease House is a historic house at 191 Pease Road in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Probably built about 1793, it is one of a small number of surviving 18th-century houses in the town, and is one of its best-preserved. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Heritage Academy is a private independent Jewish day school in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. It serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade and is fully accredited by Association of Independent Schools of New England. The school is not affiliated to any specific Jewish denomination and is a member of RAVSAK, The Jewish Community Day School Network.

Pioneer Valley Christian Academy is a private, non-denominational Christian school in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Founded in 1972, the school is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the New England Association of Christian Schools (NEACS). The school has over 350 students in pre-K through Grade 12. On August 19, 2014, Pioneer Valley Christian School unveiled a new sign and logo. The new sign and logo highlight the name change to Pioneer Valley Christian Academy(PVCA) which school officials believe better reflects its academic offerings.

The Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institution is a medium-security state prison for men in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, owned and operated by the Connecticut Department of Correction. It houses a maximum of 1165 inmates.The facility is the result of a 1997 merger of two previous institutions: the Willard Correctional Institution opened 1990, and the Cybulski Correctional Institution opened 1993. Willard-Cybulski is also one of a cluster of five state prisons in the immediate area, northeast of Enfield and under a mile from the Massachusetts state line. The others are: Robinson Correctional Institution, Enfield Correctional Institution (inmate population 717), Northern Correctional Institution, and Osborn Correctional Institution. Governor Ned Lamont announced the closure of the Willard Correctional Institution citing an inmate decline of 44% of prisoners between 2012 and 2022.

The Carl Robinson Correctional Institution is a Connecticut Department of Correction state prison for men located in Enfield, Connecticut. The facility was opened in 1985 for medium-security inmates with a capacity of 880.Robinson is one of a cluster of five state prisons in the immediate area, northeast of Enfield and under a mile from the Massachusetts state line. The others are Enfield Correctional Institution (inmate population 717), Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institution, Northern Correctional Institution, and Osborn Correctional Institution. It was announced in 2017 that the Enfield Correctional Institute would close in early 2018 due to reduced inmate population statewide; most staff members in the staff of 190 were reassigned.Robinson was the scene of two escapes in 1990, an extensive prison riot in June 1990, when 300 to 400 inmates set fire to the mess hall and gymnasium, and a worse riot on July 12, 1994. Members of the "20 Love" gangs from Hartford and New Haven clashed with Bridgeport gangs over the use of washing machines. The fight escalated and resulted in two inmate deaths, 35 detainees injured, two correctional officers injured, and all six of Robinson's dorm buildings under control of inmates for at least an hour. Overcrowding 1075 prisoners into a facility built for 880 was identified as a contributing factor.

Longmeadow High School (LHS) is an American public high school located in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Founded in 1956, it enrolls approximately 1,000 students. The school's mascot is a Lancer. It was ranked as the sixth best public school in Massachusetts in a 2011 report by Newsweek. 96% of graduates continue their studies at the college level.

Golden Bear Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor sports facility on the campus of Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. It features a synthetic turf field. The 1,500-seat stadium serves as the home field for Western New England University's football, field hockey, and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.Western New England University's football and lacrosse teams previously played their contests on the game field located near the St. Germain Campus Center. The field hockey team played its events on a grass surface at Suprenant Field.

Western New England University School of Law is a private, ABA-accredited law school in Springfield, Massachusetts. Established in 1919, the law school has approximately 8,000 alumni who live and work across the United States and internationally. Western New England Law offers both full-time and part-time programs. It is a college within Western New England University.
