Waquoit Bay is a public national estuary, which is typically used as a research reserve. It is a part of Nantucket Sound and is located on the southern shore of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, USA. This bay forms the border of the towns of Falmouth and Mashpee, Massachusetts. The name Waquoit comes from the Wompanoag word "Weeqayut" (Waquoit) meaning "Place of Light".

The Childs River, also known as Child's River, is a 5.1-mile-long (8.2 km) river near Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Its drainage area is about 1-square-mile (2.6 km2). It has been heavily impacted by the development of cranberry bogs in its upper reaches. The river arises from John's Pond in Mashpee, just north of today's Route 28, and empties into Waquoit Bay. It runs parallel to the Quashnet River.

Menauhant ( mə-NOT) is a neighborhood at the southern end of Central Avenue in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, United States. The community, which lies between Bournes Pond on the west and Eel Pond on the east, is located across Vineyard Sound from Martha's Vineyard. The community has approximately 105 homes, the earliest of which date to the 1870s, a small chapel that serves the community during the summer months, and the public Menauhant Beach. The neighborhood is the home of the Menauhant Yacht Club, which owns two private beaches, tennis courts and several boats, and hosts a summer program for members.

The Quashnet River, also known as Quoshnet River or Moonakis River, is a 5.1-mile-long (8.2 km) estuary in Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Its area is about 1-square-mile (2.6 km2). The river is connected by ditch to John's Pond in Mashpee, just north of today's Route 28. It is fed by groundwater and flows south, gaining water as it goes, into Waquoit Bay which then flows into Nantucket Sound. During colonial times it was known for its abundant brook trout but was dammed in the mid-19th century for water power. After the mills burned and the dam was breached, the valley was converted to cranberry cultivation in the early 20th century. Cranberry production stopped in the 1950s, and the cranberry bogs were abandoned. The land was purchased by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts beginning in the late 1950s, and Trout Unlimited and other organizations began to restore the river to trout-quality in the 1970s. Today the river is an important migratory fish run for alewife and salter brook trout, home to herring and eels, and is Waquoit Bay's largest source of fresh water. Additional portions of its watershed were purchased through the years by various entities. The area is now a wildlife management and conservation preserve managed by the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Seconsett Island is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mashpee in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 100 at the 2010 census.

Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (WBNERR) encompasses open waters, barrier beaches, marshlands and uplands on the south shore of Cape Cod in the towns of Falmouth and Mashpee. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The WBNERR is representative of the northern section (Cape Cod to Sandy Hook) of the Virginian biogeographic region. WBNERR is located within the transitional border between the Virginian and Acadian biogeographic regions.

Falmouth Airpark (FAA LID: 5B6) is a public-use airport and residential airpark located four miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Falmouth, in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. It is privately owned by Falmouth Airpark Homeowners Association. The airport grew to supersede the Coonamessett Airport which was located in close proximity to the Otis Air National Guard Base and closed in the 1960s.

East Falmouth is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Falmouth in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. It is located at the base of Massachusetts' "fishhook" peninsula (see map at right). The population was 6,038 at the 2010 census, making East Falmouth the most populous of the six CDPs in Falmouth.

The Waquoit Historic District encompasses the historic village center of Waquoit, a village of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Waquoit Village is located in southeastern Falmouth at the head of Waquoit Bay. The district extends along the Waquoit Highway (Massachusetts Route 28) between Childs River Road and Red Brook Road, excluding the section between Parsons Lane and Carriage Shop Road. The latter two roads run through the village center, and the district includes many properties lining those roads as well. The 170-acre (69 ha) district includes 81 predominantly residential properties; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Monomoscoy Island is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mashpee in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. At the 2010 census, the CDP had a total population of 147.

South Cape Beach State Park is a Massachusetts state park located in the town of Mashpee. It is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. The park is situated between Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound and features barrier beach and dunes, salt marsh, scrub oak and pitch pine woodland and kettle ponds and is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Seabrook is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mashpee in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 455 at the 2010 census.
