Northampton Plantation was an American plantation established by Thomas Sprigg in 1673.Charles Calvert, 3rd Baron Baltimore granted a 1000-acre tract of land to Thomas Sprigg in 1673. The tract was called "Northampton," and Sprigg built his plantation there. In 1865, John Contee Fairfax purchased the Northampton plantation, which continued as a working farm until the 1950s.The site is now Northampton Plantation Slave Quarters & Archaeological Park in Bowie, Maryland. The park features the foundations of two former slave quarters that have been reconstructed as permanent outdoor museum exhibits in a park setting with interpretive signs. Group tours and school programs can be arranged by appointment.

Downtown Largo station (also known as Largo) is an island-platformed Washington Metro station in Lake Arbor, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, with a Largo postal address.The station opened on December 18, 2004, as Largo Town Center and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). It is the eastern terminus of the Blue and Silver Lines, and serves the town of Largo and the former The Boulevard at the Capital Centre. It is the first and so far only station in Prince George's County outside the Capital Beltway, and is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) from FedExField, the home of the Washington Commanders. It is also a major commuter station, with two parking garages, containing a total of 2,200 spaces, connected by a bridge at the top level. This station is also the only terminus that has two lines terminating at it.

The Boulevard at the Capital Centre was an open-air shopping center in Lake Arbor, Prince George's County, Maryland; it had a Largo postal address. It was located on the former site of the Capital Centre, previously the home of the Washington Bullets and Washington Capitals. Opened in 2003, the Boulevard at the Capital Centre was located next to the Largo Town Center Washington Metro station (the eastern terminus of the Blue and Silver Lines). The facility had more than 70 establishments. It was formerly the home of short-lived chain restaurant Gladys Knight & Ron Winans' Chicken & Waffles. Though it was envisioned as a middle-class destination when it opened, the mall soon began to struggle. Its more desirable retailers closed and were replaced with downscale offerings like T-shirt and cell phone shops; many vacancies also remained. It also experienced problems with crime: five people were killed at the mall between 2005 and 2009, and there were 101 car break-ins in 2008.In November 2017, the shopping center closed to build the new University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. In addition there were to be new luxury apartments, restaurants, and a shopping center. When the Boulevard closed, surviving businesses included Chick-Fil-A, TGI Friday's, Chuck E. Cheese's, Carolina Kitchen, The Magic Johnson Theater (AMC Theatres), Phoenix Salon, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Golden Corral. The area will be known as Downtown Largo once completed. In July 2019, demolition of 290,000 square feet (27,000 m2) of retail space commenced to make way for Carillon, a new lifestyle-oriented mixed-use development on the same site. The University of Maryland Capital Region Health was completed and opened on June 8, 2021.

The Capital Centre (later USAir Arena and US Airways Arena) was an indoor arena in the eastern United States, located in Landover, Maryland, a suburb east of Washington, D.C. The seating capacity was 18,756 for basketball and 18,130 for hockey. Opened in late 1973, it closed in March 2002, and was demolished that December.

Largo High School is a public High School in Largo census-designated place, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. Operated by Prince George's County Public Schools, it serves students of grades 9 to 12. The school is operated by the Prince George's County Public Schools system. The school's athletic teams are known as the Lions. The school serves about 870 students in grades 9 through 12. The principal is Albert T. Lewis. The school's name originates from the Largo unincorporated community, which is served by the school. Other places served include sections of the CDPs of Kettering, Brock Hall, Forestville, and Westphalia. It serves sections of the former Greater Upper Marlboro CDP.Largo High School is located next to Prince George's Community College.

Charles Herbert Flowers High School is a comprehensive science and technology magnet school located in unincorporated Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, adjacent to the Springdale census-designated place and with a Springdale postal address. It is part of the Prince George's County School System. Its principal is Dr. Gorman Brown. The school serves: most of the City of Glenarden, all of Lake Arbor CDP and Springdale CDP, portions of Landover CDP and Summerfield CDP, and most of the 2010-defined Mitchellville and Woodmore CDPs.Flowers High School's motto is "Mecca of Excellence." The school's Alma Mater, "A Mecca of Excellence," was written by R&B singer and 2004 graduate Patrice Jones and principal Helena Jones.

The Newton White Mansion is a Neo-Georgian home was built in 1939 by architect William Lawrence Bottomley for Captain Newton H. White of the United States Navy. Captain White had a long and distinguished career, serving on the USS Yorktown, the USS Lexington, and, prior to World War II, as the first commanding officer of the USS Enterprise. At one time the centerpiece of a 586-acre (2.37 km2) dairy farm, the house and grounds (known locally as the Enterprise Estate) are now entirely surrounded by the Enterprise Golf Course.

Ridgley Methodist Episcopal Church, constructed in 1921, is a one-story frame church on the north side of Central Avenue in Landover, Prince George's County, Maryland. The church was founded in 1871 and a cemetery begun in 1892. It served as the spiritual and social center of the formerly rural African American farming community of Ridgley.The gable-front church consists of a 1921 block on the south and a small 1940s extension on the north. The church was moved from its original location to its current location in 1990. In 2002, the church suffered a fire that destroyed the original plaster. The cemetery has about 20 mostly hand carved gravestones with flower and vine motif, arranged in orderly rows and grouped by families. The stones date from the 1910s to the 1940s. It is currently home to New Rock Church. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Landover Mall was a large shopping mall located in Landover, Maryland, directly across from FedExField, off MD 202 and Interstates 95 and 495. The mall was built by Sonny Abramson and Ted Lerner of Lerner Enterprises, and opened in 1972. Like its neighbor, Capital Plaza Mall, it was a major attraction through its opening years in Prince George's County. The mall featured many anchors and smaller tenants; however, upon the decline and closing of its major anchors, the mall itself entered a state of decline. Finally, in 2002, the mall's doors were closed and it ultimately was demolished in 2006. Sears remained open because it owned the land beneath the store. Sears later sold the land underneath its store to Lerner. In January 2014, Sears announced that it would close in March.
