Blaxland High School is a government-operated comprehensive secondary school located in Blaxland, a suburb in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1977, the school enrolled approximately 1,000 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom five percent identified as Indigenous Australians and eight percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education.

Blaxland railway station is located on the Main Western line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the Blue Mountains suburb of Blaxland opening on 11 July 1867 as Wascoes, being renamed Blaxland on 21 April 1879.

The Glenbrook Native Plant Reserve is a small botanical garden and arboretum of around 2 hectares (4.9 acres) in Glenbrook, New South Wales, Australia, featuring Australian native plants, principally those indigenous to the Blue Mountains. It contains a small nursery and education centre, as well as a small landscaped garden and the local flora reserve, with a number of walking trails and a wide range of local species represented. It is tended by the Blue Mountains Branch of the Australian Plants Society.

The Lennox Bridge, Glenbrook is a heritage-listed road bridge that carries the Mitchell's Pass across Brookside Creek (also known as Lapstone Creek), located at Glenbrook, in the City of Blue Mountains local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The bridge was designed by David Lennox and built from 1832 to 1833 by James Randall and other convicts. It is also known as Lennox Bridge or The Horseshoe Bridge. The property is owned by Blue Mountains City Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The stone arch bridge is a single arch of 6 metres (20 ft) span and is 9 metres (30 ft) above water level, with a road width of 9 metres (30 ft).

The Glenbrook Railway Residence is a heritage-listed railway residence located at Great Western Highway, Glenbrook, City of Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. It is also known as Railway Residence. The property is owned by Ampol Pty Ltd. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Glenbrook is a township of the Lower Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 63 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blue Mountains. As of the 2021 Australian census Glenbrook had a population of 5,078 people.Glenbrook lies between Lapstone and Blaxland at an elevation of 163 metres (535 feet) and is approximately a 50-minute drive from Sydney. It plays host to trendy cafes and boutiques, while offering various tourist attractions, including weekend markets, recreational opportunities and native flora and fauna. The town takes its name from Glenbrook Creek, which is on the southern side of the village and must be crossed to enter the Blue Mountains National Park. Glenbrook retains many historical homes and buildings throughout the village, although most of these are occupied and not open to the public.

The Glenbrook Tunnel is a heritage-listed single-track former railway tunnel and mustard gas storage facility and previously a mushroom farm located on the former Main Western Line (since deviated) at the Great Western Highway, Glenbrook, in the City of Blue Mountains local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The Department of Railways designed the tunnel and built it from 1891 to 1892. It is also known as Lapstone Hill tunnel and Former Glenbrook Railway and World War II Mustard Gas Storage Tunnel. The property is owned by Blue Mountains City Council and Land and Property Management Authority, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 5 August 2011. The railway tunnel was originally part of the Glenbrook 1892 single-track deviation, which bypassed the Lapstone Zig Zag across the Blue Mountains. It is 634 metres; 693 yards (31.5 chains) long and is constructed in an 'S' shape with a gradient of 1:33.The tunnel was built to the east of Glenbrook railway station and opened on 18 December 1892. Due to the steep gradient, seepage keeping the rails wet causing slippage, poor ventilation and planned duplication of the track, plans were drawn up to bypass the steep route. Trains commonly stalled in the tunnel for some time before having to back the locomotive out of the tunnel for another attempt. The tunnel was closed on 25 September 1913, and was utilised for growing mushrooms. In 1942, during World War II, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) stockpiled bulk mustard gas stocks in preparation for a possible Japanese chemical weapons attack. The facility was known as No. 2 Sub Depot of No. 1 Central Reserve RAAF and was vacated by the RAAF after the war. It features in the "Alcatraz Down Under" episode of Cities of the Underworld on the History Channel.in July 2021, the local state member Stuart Ayres announced that the NSW Government had allocated $2.5 million to progress the opening of the tunnel for public recreation

Mount Riverview is a town off the Great Western Highway about 2 km NE of Blaxland in the Lower Blue Mountains, New South Wales, 70 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, Australia. At the 2006 census, Mount Riverview had a population of 2,993 people.Mount Riverview borders the townships/suburbs of Warrimoo, Blaxland, Emu Heights and Yellow Rock. Mount Riverview has views over the Sydney area, including of Centrepoint Tower some 55 kilometres away. It has a general store, two churches, a wood turning and woodcraft centre, a public school, tennis courts, a water tank, a Chinese restaurant, two parks and a local fire brigade under the jurisdiction of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. Mount Riverview is part of the Federal Electoral Division of Macquarie (NSW).

RAAF Base Glenbrook (ICAO: YGNB) is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base located in Glenbrook, in the Lower Blue Mountains, approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. The base serves as home to Headquarters Air Command of the RAAF. There is no airfield although it has a heliport, or helicopter landing site (HLS) and most administrative services are located on the nearby RAAF Base Richmond. Parts of the 28-hectare (69-acre) site are heritage-listed and comprise the Officers' Mess, once the Lapstone Hotel.During World War Two, men stationed at the base co-ordinated the stockpiling of mustard gas in the disused Glenbrook railway tunnel.In 2009 the Minister for Defence, John Faulkner, announced that the base would be closed by 2015, and its command operations transfer to RAAF Base Amberley. Closure has yet to occur.

The Lucasville railway station is a decommissioned railway station on the Lapstone Zig Zag that closed in 1892. John Lucas purchased land for a country retreat adjacent to the top road of the Lapstone ZigZag. He built his house called Lucasville. The house has disappeared but traces of its gardens and access paths are still visible immediately to the west of the ZigZag walking track.For the convenience of himself, his family, and his guests, Lucas used his political clout to have a railway station built on the Top Road of the ZigZag. Lucasville Station opened in 1877 and the substantial concrete platform, with rock-cut steps leading west into Lucasville grounds. Today the station is part of the Historic Lapstone Zig Zag walking track.
