Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut

The Cornwall Bridge (also known as Bridge No. 560) is a two-lane, concrete arch bridge carrying U.S. Route 7/Connecticut Route 4 over the Housatonic River and the Housatonic Railroad in northwestern Connecticut. It was built in 1930 by C.W. Blakeslee and Sons for the Connecticut Highway Department and consists of six open-spandrel arches spanning 674 feet (205 m), and is a fairly large example of concrete open-spandrel construction. The bridge was reconstructed in 1994 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Cornwall Bridge station is a former train station in Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut. The station building was built in the 1880s to serve passengers on the Housatonic Railroad. Passenger service on the line ended in 1971, at which time Penn Central auctioned off the station. The following year, the station received a National Register of Historic Places designation.

Dudleytown is an abandoned settlement, located in a valley known as the Dark Entry Forest, in northwestern Connecticut in the United States, best known today as a ghost town. Due to vandalism and trespassers, the site is not open to the public. Since the mid-1920s, the land occupied by the village has been maintained by philanthropists as a private land trust, who worked to reforest the land after decades of agricultural use. Only a few traces, such as cellar holes, remain of the original village. Due to rumors of ghost activity beginning in the 1980s, the village site has been subject to frequent vandalism, and the owners have since closed the land to the public.

Wyantenock State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the towns of Warren, Kent and Cornwall. The forest consists of nine scattered parcels and was originally part of Mohawk State Forest. The forest is one of the least visited and developed state forests with little or no public access.

Kent Falls State Park is a public recreation area located in the town of Kent, Connecticut, within the Litchfield Hills region of the southern Berkshires. The state park is home to Kent Falls, a series of waterfalls on Falls Brook, a tributary of the Housatonic River. The falls drop 250 feet (76 m) in under a quarter mile. The largest cascade drops more than 70 feet (21 m) into a reflecting pool, before traveling over the lesser falls.

Housatonic Meadows State Park is a public recreation area covering 452 acres (183 ha) along the Housatonic River in the towns of Sharon and Cornwall, Connecticut. The state park offers opportunities for camping, hiking, picnicking, canoeing, and fly-fishing. It is crossed by the Appalachian Trail and is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The Foreign Mission School was an educational institution which operated between 1817 and 1826 in Cornwall, Connecticut. It was established by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. The ABCFM was focused on sending missionaries to non-Christian cultures, mostly overseas. The school was intended to educate students of non-Christian cultures, including Native Americans, in Christianity and Western culture so that they might become missionaries and emissaries to their own peoples. It had students from Hawaii, India and East Asia, in addition to those of Native American tribes primarily from east of the Mississippi River.

Rumsey Hall was an historic academic building at 12 Bolton Hill Road in Cornwall, Connecticut. Built in 1848, it was a distinguished example of Greek Revival architecture that served as home to a number of academic institutions, including the first campus of the Rumsey Hall School. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, and was demolished in 2010.

Cornwall is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 1,567 at the 2020 census. The town is part of the Northwest Hills Planning Region.

Cathedral Pines is a 42-acre (17 ha) nature preserve owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy in Cornwall, Connecticut. It is an old-growth white pine and hemlock forest which had been donated in 1967 by the Calhoun family who had purchased it in 1883 to prevent logging. It was mostly destroyed by tornadoes in July 1989 and has become a study site for ecological restoration. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1982.The remaining white pines are approximately 120 feet (37 m) to 140 feet (43 m) high. It is open to the public. In his book Second Nature, writer Michael Pollan uses the aftermath of the 1989 tornado damage at Cathedral Pines as a case for an insightful discussion of environmental ethics.

Cornwall is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the central village in the town of Cornwall, Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the geographic center of the town, along Connecticut Route 4 (Furnace Brook Road/Cemetery Hill Road), southeast of West Cornwall and northeast of Cornwall Bridge. Cornwall was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Warren Congregational Church is a historic Congregational Church at 4 Sackett Hill Road in Warren, Connecticut. Built in 1820, it is a well-preserved example of Federal architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
