Kurrajong Heights, New South Wales

Kurrajong is a small town in New South Wales, Australia. Kurrajong is located 75 kilometres (47 mi) north-west of Sydney, in the local government area of the City of Hawkesbury. Kurrajong is located to the west of the Hawkesbury River on the lower slopes of the Blue Mountains. It is 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-west of Richmond on the Bells Line of Road, with Kurrajong Hills and Kurrajong Heights further west on this road.

Goldfinders Inn is a heritage-listed former inn, guesthouse, general store and post office and now residence at 164 Old Bells Line of Road, Kurrajong, City of Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1809 to 1830 by John Lamrock. It is also known as Gold Finders Rest, Kurrajong General Store and Kurrajong Post Office. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 21 October 2016.

Kurmond is a village 70.5 km west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the City of Hawkesbury between Kurrajong and North Richmond on Bells Line of Road. In the 2016 census, Kurmond recorded a population of 852 people. It has a small shopping centre including a post office, with two restaurants further east to North Richmond (all located on Bells Line of Road) In his memoir From Kurmond Kid to Cancer Crusader, oncologist Fred Stephens describes growing up on a soldier settler block at Kurmond in the 1930s. The area was well known at that time for its orchards and soldier settlement houses. The village has one school, Kurmond Public School. Kurmond was home to the original Airlite windows factory in the 1960s. Notable residents include F.B Mackenzie, who was a local orchardist and advocate for farmer and community issues in the area. Prime Minister Ben Chifley would often stop at the Mackenzie farm on his way home to Bathurst (at that time Kurmond was in his electorate). Rowley McMahon founded a bus company after walking home from the then Grose Vale train station at the end of World War II which went on to become Westbus. Originally known as Longleat, the name "Kurmond" is a derivative of neighboring town names Kurrajong and Richmond.

Grose Vale is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the City of Hawkesbury. It was previously known as South Kurrajong. Many historic properties are located in Grose Vale including "Lemon Forest" originally owned by the Lamrock family as well as a number of homes owned by the Dunston and Ezzy families.

Yobarnie Keyline Farm is a heritage-listed former experimental farm and now pastoral property at 108 Grose Vale Road, North Richmond, City of Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by P.A. Yeomans and built by him from 1943 to 1964. It is also known as Redbank North Richmond and Belmont Park. The property is owned by Redbank Communities Pty Ltd. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 8 March 2013.

Colo High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located on the Bells Line of Road in North Richmond, on the north-western outskirts of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1978, the school caters for approximately 1,000 students enrolled at the school from Year 7 to Year 12; and the school is operated by the New South Wales Department of Education.

Bowen Mountain is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, in the City of Hawkesbury. It is in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The nearest commercial centre is Kurrajong, which lies approximately 5 km to the north-east. It is named after George M. C. Bowen, an earlier setter of the area.

Crago Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned by the Astronomical Society of New South Wales. It is located at Bowen Mountain, near North Richmond, which is around 75 kilometres (47 mi) from Sydney city.The observatory has a large rotating dome atop a concrete block building. Until 2020 it housed a 16″ ƒ/7 Dobsonian telescope, fitted with Argo Navis and ServoCAT. Then a combination of storm damage to the observatory and the COVID-19 pandemic forced the observatory to close temporarily. The society decided to take advantage of that extended break to upgrade the telescope, and commissioned the construction of a new 22" f/5 telescope. It is expected to re-open with the new telescope during 2022. There is also a wide range of eyepieces and star charts available for use with the telescope.Crago is one of the most accessible observatories to Sydney residents that does not suffer from excessive light pollution compared to Sydney Observatory located in the city. It is named after Marion and Jack Crago, members of the flour-milling Crago family, who were active members of the society. Marion Crago suggested Bowen Mountain as the location for an observatory and, upon her death, had left money to the society.

Grose Wold is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is in the City of Hawkesbury. At the 2021 census, Grose Wold's population was 668. RedBank North Richmond has proposed building a bridge through Grose Wold to Yarramundi to get to Penrith quicker and ease traffic and congestion on the North Richmond bridge to Richmond.

St John of God Hospital Richmond is a private psychiatric hospital which provides mental health care on an inpatient, day patient and outpatient basis. It is located in North Richmond, New South Wales. North Richmond is a semi-rural suburb of Richmond, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. North Richmond is located 67 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Hawkesbury. It is separated from Richmond to the south-east by the Hawkesbury River.
