The Church of the Nativity was a Catholic parish church in the Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 44 Second Avenue between Second and 3rd Streets in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It was established in 1842 and permanently closed in 2015.

La Salle Academy is a private, Catholic all boys high school run by the Eastern North American District of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in the borough of Manhattan, New York City. It was founded by the Christian Brothers in 1848. The school was first named Saint Vincent's School when it opened on Canal Street. It moved to Second Avenue in 1856 and changed its name to La Salle Academy in 1887. In 2010 La Salle relocated to 215 East 6th Street, sharing the building with St. George Ukrainian Catholic School. Various offices are still located in the Second Street building. Throughout its history, La Salle has been home to thousands of "Brothers' boys".

Anthology Film Archives is an international center for the preservation, study, and exhibition of film and video, with a particular focus on independent, experimental, and avant-garde cinema. The film archive and theater is located at 32 Second Avenue on the southeast corner of East 2nd Street, in a New York City historic district in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan.

East Village Radio (EVR), begun in August 2003, is an Internet radio station which broadcasts from a storefront studio in the East Village of Manhattan, in New York City. Originally a pirate radio station broadcasting at 88.1 MHz, the station shut down on May 23, 2014 and relaunched in conjunction with Dash Radio, June 3, 2015.EVR's street-level studio is on 21 First Avenue at East 1st Street. According to an MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority) study of pedestrian traffic in New York City, almost 1,800 (1,000 during off-peak travel times) pedestrians passed by the sound booth per hour. Over 60 DJs and hosts provide 16 hours of free live programming a day, in two-hour show blocks, seven days a week. Programming features a mix of music, news, comedy and commentary. Music ranges from indie to new wave to coldwave to hip hop and post punk to vintage jazz, funk and soul to house, techno and ambient electronic. EVR supports the free radio movement.

First Street was a local station on the demolished IRT Second Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City, located at the intersection of First Street and First Avenue. It had two levels. The lower level had two tracks and two side platforms and the upper level had one track that served express trains,. The next stop to the north was Eighth Street. The next stop to the south was Rivington Street. The station closed on June 13, 1942.

Club 82, also known as the 82 Club, was a nightclub in Manhattan, New York City that employed female impersonators as entertainers. The nightclub had a second life as a music venue, but was eventually closed.

Lucien is a French restaurant located at 14 1st Avenue in New York City. Lucien was opened by Moroccan-born restauranteur Lucien Bahaj in 1998. The menu includes traditional French fare inspired by Bahaj's upbringing in the South of France. Its clientele have included established celebrities through promotional collaboration with New York publicist Kaitlin Phillips; she has brought celebrities like Bella Hadid and Chloe Sevigny, and New York artists Jonas Mekas and Dash Snow, to the restaurant.Bahaj passed away in 2019, and today the restaurant's operations are handled by his son Zac.

The Horse Trade Theater Group was founded in 1998 in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is located at 85 East 4th Street between Second Avenue and The Bowery The three theaters in the group are the Kraine Theater, the Red Room and UNDER St. Marks. These three theaters are the artistic homes to the many Off-Off Broadway theatre artists involved with Horse Trade as resident artists and guest artists.In 2015, Horse Trade Theater Group/The Fire This Time Festival won the Obie Grant at the Obie Awards presented by the American Theater Wing.

Yonah Schimmel's Knish Bakery is a bakery and restaurant, located at 137 East Houston Street (between First Avenue and Second Avenue), in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, that has been selling knishes on the Lower East Side since 1890. Its current location on Houston Street opened in 1910.As the Lower East Side has changed over the decades and many of its Jewish residents have departed, Yonah Schimmel's is one of the few distinctly Jewish businesses and restaurants that remain as a fixture of this largely departed culture and cuisine.As cited in The Underground Gourmet, a review of Yonah Schimmel's in a collection of restaurant reviews by Milton Glaser and Jerome Snyder, "No New York politician in the last 50 years has been elected to office without having at least one photograph showing him on the Lower East Side with a knish in his face."
