Los Mártires (Spanish for "The Martyrs") is the 14th locality of Bogotá, capital of Colombia. It is located near the city's downtown to its west. This district is mostly inhabited by lower middle and working class residents. It takes its name in honor of those who died during the war for independence from Spain. It is completely urbanized, save for its parks and the banks of its rivers.

The Administrative Department of Security (Spanish: Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad, DAS) was the security service agency of Colombia, which was also responsible for border and immigration services. It was dissolved on 31 October 2011 as part of a wider Executive Reform, and was replaced by the Dirección Nacional de Inteligencia (DNI).

The DAS Building bombing was a truck bomb attack in Bogotá, Colombia, at 7:30 am on December 6, 1989, targeting the Administrative Department of Security (DAS) headquarters. A truck parked near the building exploded, killing 57 people instantly and injuring 2,248. The bomb blast, an estimated 500 kg of dynamite, destroyed 14 city blocks and destroyed more than 300 commercial properties. The last victim of the bombing died on April 27 1990. It was the deadliest car bomb attack in Latin America before being succeeded by the AMIA bombing 5 years later. It is widely believed that the Medellín Cartel was responsible for the attack, in an attempt to assassinate DAS director Miguel Maza Márquez, who escaped unharmed. The same group was believed to be behind the bombing of Avianca Flight 203 9 days before.The DAS building bombing was the last in the long series of attacks that targeted Colombian politicians, officials, and journalists in 1989, which started with the January 18 killing of 12 judicial officials in Simacota.

Avenida Norte-Quito-Sur or NQS is an arterial road in Bogotá, Colombia that crosses the city from northeast to southwest. The avenue is formed from the union of three old avenues, Avenida Ciudad de Quito, Avenida Novena, and Autopista Sur.

La Modelo (English: The Model [Prison]) is a prison in Bogotá, Colombia. With 11,000 inmates, the facility is known for its violence. The prison's north wing accommodates left-wing rebels while the south wing has right-wing government supporters and paramilitaries. The area between these two wings is where many killings in the prison take place. Guards do not carry weapons in the prison, although the ones in the guard towers do control rifles. Prisoners from both sides have easy access to guns and even grenades. Members of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) continue to drill in their section of the prison. There are restaurants in the prison and one sponsored by FARC provides free food to left-wing rebels.On 27 April 2000, 25 prisoners were murdered in fighting. After the killings and the publicity it created the government began to change the prison regime. Many of the private shops were shut down and security was stepped up, although inmates still have access to arms.In 2016, the dismembered remains of at least 100 prisoners and visitors were found in drain pipes at the jail.On 21 March 2020, at least 23 prisoners were killed and 83 injured during a riot which erupted amid fears over spreading of SARS-CoV-2 through prison walls during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prisoners across the country were protesting against overcrowding as well as poor health services ever since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Corferias is a convention center located in the city of Bogotá Colombia, between Quinta Paredes and El Recuerdo neighborhoods. It is a venue of local, national and international events. Although it was originally created only as a fair space it has also served as an important place for social activities including voting and it is used by companies and individuals for cultural events.

The Bogotá La Sabana railway station (in Spanish: Estación de la Sabana) is a neoclassical building in Bogotá (Colombia), home to the central station of the Bogotá Savannah Railway and the National Railways of Colombia (Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Colombia, FNC). Inaugurated on 20 July 1917, this construction replaced the old station built at the end of the 1880s.It is located on the locality of Los Mártires, near the downtown of the city. During the first half of the 20th century it was an important pole of development towards the west of the city. Due to the deterioration of the sector and the decline of the railroad, the building has suffered a whole series of damages. At present, although it does not fulfill its role as the railway's central transportation hub (being used for the Tourist train of the Savannah of Bogotá), the recovery of the building is included in the sector's urban renewal plan. The building has been declared national monument in 1984, due to its historical and cultural importance.

Centro Mayor is a shopping mall located in the south of Bogotá, Colombia. It was inaugurated on March 26, 2010. Centro Mayor is the biggest mall in Colombia and the third one in Latin America.

The Office of the Attorney General of Colombia (Spanish: Fiscalía General de la Nación; literally "General Prosecutorial Office of the Nation") is the Colombian institution part of the Colombian judicial branch of Government with administrative autonomy designed to prosecute offenders, investigate crimes, review judicial processes and accuse penal law infractions against judges and courts of justice. The Office of the Attorney General was created by the Colombian Constitution of 1991 and began operating on July 1, 1992. The current attorney general is Fernando Carrillo. An investigative process is initiated either by the institutions' own initiative or after a denouncer has made authorities aware of the case in a police station or in a Quick Reaction Unit of the Attorney General's Office.

Santa Fe (Spanish pronunciation: [santaˈfe]) is the third locality of Bogotá, Capital District of Colombia. Santa Fe is part of the traditional downtown of the city of Bogotá, the area where the city was founded by Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada on August 6, 1538. This area once comprised Bogotá's total main urban area and was known as "Santa Fe de Bogotá" with its traditional neighbourhoods. Santa Fe hosts some of the main business areas in Bogotá, and is served by the Carrera Séptima, one of the main arteries of the city. The locality hosts most of Bogotá's skyscrapers. The International Center and the financial district along the Avenida Jiménez are also located within Santa Fe. The main streets of central Bogotá intersect in Santa Fe: Carrera Séptima, formerly known as Calle Real (Royal Street), Carrera Décima, Calle 26, Avenida Circunvalar, Avenida Caracas, Avenida Ciudad de Lima and Avenida Jiménez. Santa Fe also has a rural area located in the Eastern Hills of which Monserrate and Guadalupe are the main landmarks. The locality of La Candelaria was the location where Santa Fe de Bogotá was founded and is an enclave in the middle of the locality Santa Fe. La Candelaria was separated from Santa Fe after the creation of the Capital District.

Radio Nacional de Colombia ("Colombian National Radio") is a Colombian state-owned public radio network, part of Señal Colombia RTVC. It was launched – as Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia – on 1 February 1940, three years after closure of the country's first state-owned radio station, HJN. Between 1954 and 1963, Radiodifusora Nacional was also responsible for National Television, then the only television network in the country. As of 2019, the network broadcasts news and information from state and other institutional agencies in addition to coverage of all aspects of Colombian culture in programmes grouped under the heading Colombiología, with the motto Colombiología al aire ("Colombiology on the air"). Broadcasting on both AM and FM, Radio Nacional covers Colombia's 32 departmental capitals, including Bogotá, as well as a number of other medium-sized municipalities.

Radiónica is a Colombian state-owned music radio network, formerly known as 99-1 Frecuencia Joven ("Young Frequency"). It belongs to the National Radio Television of Colombia, Colombia's state-owned national broadcaster. The network broadcast mainly independently-made music covering many genres, mostly rock, electronica, and metal, with some hip hop and reggae. It also promotes and broadcasts many Colombian artists. In 2005, Bogotá's 99.1 FM would become Radiónica, during that year's Rock al Parque festival in Bogotá. It was known as Señal Radiónica between 2013 and 2015. Radiónica added its first station outside Bogotá in 2006, with HJXP 99.5 MHz in San Andrés Islas. Later it would expand to Cartagena, Cali and Medellín (2007), and other cities in 2009.
