Žižkov is a cadastral district of Prague, Czech Republic. Most of Žižkov lies in the municipal and administrative district of Prague 3, except for very small parts which are in Prague 8 and Prague 10. Prior to 1922, Žižkov was an independent city. The district is named after Hussite military leader Jan Žižka. It is situated south of Vitkov hill, site of the Battle of Vitkov Hill on 14 July 1420, where Žižka's peasant army decisively defeated the forces of Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor.

St. Procopius Church (Czech: Kostel svatého Prokopa) is the parish church of the district of Žižkov in Prague, Czech Republic. Dedicated to the patron saint of Bohemia, Procopius of Sázava, the three-aisled Neo-Gothic church, located at Sladkovského Square on Seifertova Street, was designed by Bohemian architects Josef Mocker (who completed St. Vitus Cathedral) and František Mikš. Its steeple dominates the skyline of Žižkov (along with the more-recently constructed Žižkov Television Tower).

The Žižkov Television Tower (Czech: Žižkovský vysílač) is a unique transmitter tower built in Prague between 1985 and 1992. Designed by the architect Václav Aulický and the structural engineer Jiří Kozák, it stands high above the city's traditional skyline from its position on top of a hill in the district of Žižkov, from which it takes its name. The tower is an example of high-tech architecture.

Jiřího z Poděbrad Square (George of Poděbrady Square, officially: náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad) is located in Vinohrady district in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It is dominated by Art Nouveau Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord from 1932, which stands in the middle of it. The majority of the square is actually an urban park, there is also a stone fountain included. Metro and tram stops of the same are located on the square.

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord (Czech: Kostel Nejsvětějšího Srdce Páně) is a Roman Catholic church at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square in Prague's Vinohrady district. It was built between 1929 and 1932 and designed by the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik. Plečnik found the inspiration for this construction in old Christian and ancient patterns. This was one of three new buildings constructed in 1929 in Prague, inspired by the 1000th anniversary of the death of St. Wenceslas. The most expensive construction for Wenceslas's commemoration in Prague was the completion of the medieval St. Vitus Cathedral, but the Catholic Church also decided to build two new churches. One church was to be built in Vršovice, Prague 10 – St. Wenceslas Church (Vršovice) by Czech architect Josef Gočár and this one, which was to be built at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square in Vinohrady. It is considered one of the most significant Czech religious constructions of the 20th century. In the wide 42 m high tower wall is a huge, 7.6 m diameter glazed clock (the largest in the Czech Republic). In the basement is a spacious chapel with a wooden caisson ceiling. Inside is an altar made of white marble, a three-metre gilded figure of Christ, and six statues of the patrons of Bohemia.During World War II, the six bells from the tower were melted down for arms production, and in 1992, two copies were returned. Since 2010, the church has been ranked among national cultural monuments.

The FK Viktoria Stadion, officially named the eFotbal Arena, is a multi-use stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Viktoria Žižkov. The stadium holds 5,037 people, all seated. In 2007 the club opened a shop at the stadium for the sale of club merchandise. A new playing surface was laid in 2011 after the club was promoted to the Czech First League, one of the conditions of the club's acceptance into the league.

The statue of Jaroslav Hašek is an outdoor monument and equestrian statue by Karel Nepraš and Karolína Neprašová, installed at Prokopovo náměstí in the Žižkov district of Prague, Czech Republic. The sculpture was installed in 2005, having been completed by Nepraš's daughter Karolína after his death. It is located in an area where Hašek lived during writing of his famous novel The Good Soldier Švejk.

The Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (Czech: Ústav pro studium totalitních režimů or ÚSTR) is a Czech government agency and research institute. It was founded by the Czech government in 2007 and is situated at Siwiecova street, Prague-Žižkov (the street is named after Ryszard Siwiec). Its purpose is to gather, analyse and make accessible documents from the Nazi and Communist totalitarian regimes. The archives will also have documents from the former communist secret police, the StB or State Security. The institute is a founding member organisation of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience, and hosts its secretariat.

Prague 3 (formally the Prague 3 Municipal District, Czech: Městská čast Praha 3), is a second-tier municipality in Prague. It is geographically identical to the national administrative district (správní obvod) and city administrative district (městský obvod) of the same name. The district includes most of the cadastral area of Žižkov and parts of Vinohrady, Vysočany and Strašnice. The district area has remained intact since its creation in 1960. Like many districts of the city, Prague 3 is socioeconomically diverse. The western part of Žižkov is known for its high concentration of brothels, strip clubs and cheap bars. Yet only a short distance away are nice apartments and a new shopping mall with expensive stores.Two of Prague's most-visible landmarks are in Prague 3: the National Monument on the Vítkov hill, with its giant equestrian statue of Jan Žižka; and the 216 metre-high Žižkov Tower, Prague's tallest structure. The large Olšany Cemetery take up much of the district. A New Jewish Cemetery nearby, one of two historic Jewish burial places in the district, contains the grave of Bohemian-German writer Franz Kafka.

The National Monument on top of Vítkov Hill in Prague's Žižkov district is one of the most important buildings related to the development of Czechoslovak/Czech statehood. It includes the third largest bronze rider statue in the world, of Jan Žižka, who defeated Catholic forces led by King Sigismund in 1420 in the Battle of Vítkov Hill. The Monument also includes the Ceremonial Hall, an exhibition entitled Crossroads of Czech and Czechoslovak Statehood, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other exhibition halls. The Monument was built from 1928–1938 in honor of the World War I Czechoslovak legionaries. After 1948, it was used to promote the Communist regime. Between 1954-1962 it housed the mausoleum of Klement Gottwald. In 2000, the monument was acquired by the National Museum, which conducted a major restoration work. After over two years of reconstruction, the Memorial was opened to the public on 29 October 2009.
