Greenfield is a former civil township of Wayne County, Michigan; it was created from a portion of neighboring Springwells Township in 1833. Greenfield eventually encompassed the survey township T1S R11E. It even had its own police force. By 1875, a series of annexations to Detroit and Highland Park had begun; by 1926, the township of Greenfield had ceased to exist. Today, Greenfield Road follows the former western township boundary between Greenfield and Redford Township. 8 Mile road was the northern boundary of Greenfield Township. Tireman Avenue follows the former southern boundary between Greenfield and Springwells Township.

Marygrove College was a private Roman Catholic graduate college in Detroit, Michigan, affiliated with the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It announced its closure on December 17, 2019, at end of the fall semester.

Detroit St. Martin de Porres High School (short form: "Detroit DePorres", "DePorres", or "DP") was a co-educational college preparatory school in Detroit, Michigan and belonged to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. St. Martin de Porres was a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and competed athletically in the Catholic High School League (CHSL).

Samuel C. Mumford High School is a public high school located on the near-northwest side of Detroit, Michigan. It was operated by the Detroit Public Schools, and had been operated by the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan (EAA). DPS re-assumed control of Mumford High in fall 2017.

Immaculata High School was an all-girls Catholic high school located at W. McNichols and Wyoming Ave. in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The school was opened in 1941 and was operated by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The school closed in 1983. The building now houses The School at Marygrove Elementary.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is the largest of the eight hospitals that comprise the Detroit Medical Center (DMC). Located in northwest Detroit, Sinai-Grace provides health care services in over forty specialties and has 334 inpatient beds. The hospital has comprehensive cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, cancer, surgical, OBGYN, urological, gastrointestinal, intensive, and geriatrics services.Sinai-Grace's Joint Excel Plus program features minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgical services. In addition to its hospital-based care, Sinai-Grace operates more than 25 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties. Sinai-Grace is one of 10 hospitals in the nation to be awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to set the standards of cardiac care for hospitals and physicians throughout the nation. U.S. News & World Report named Sinai-Grace Hospital as high-performing in stroke, COPD, and heart failure care in 2020.More than 200 medical students and resident physicians in a variety of medical and surgical specialties get their advanced training at Sinai-Grace every year. In addition, nursing and medical students, radiology technicians, pharmacists, physician assistants, pathologists' assistants, and chaplains train at the hospital.

WNIC (100.3 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Dearborn, Michigan, and serving the Metro Detroit media market. Owned by iHeartMedia, WNIC broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format. Each year, usually on the first Friday of November, WNIC switches its format to all-Christmas music. WNIC's studios and offices are located in Farmington Hills, and its transmitter is located near Schoolcraft Avenue and Turner Street on the Near West Side of Detroit. WNIC broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 32,000 watts from an antenna 600 feet in height. WNIC is licensed for HD Radio operation and formerly featured a soft AC/oldies format on its HD2 channel from iHeartRadio's "Sunny Radio" channel.

Thomas M. Cooley High School is an abandoned high school located at the intersection of Hubbell Avenue and Chalfonte Street, on the northwest side of Detroit, Michigan. The three-story, Mediterranean Revival-style facility opened its doors on September 4, 1928. The school was named in honor of Thomas M. Cooley, a nineteenth-century jurist and former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. Cooley was also a charter member, and first chairman, of the Federal Interstate Commerce Commission. Due to budget constraints and declining enrollment, Cooley High School was closed at the end of the 2009–2010 academic year. On September 30, 2017, a three-alarm fire severely damaged the auditorium and surrounding rooms.

Jerry L. White Center is a high school in Detroit, Michigan. It is a part of Detroit Public Schools. The school serves students with disabilities aged 14–19. It includes severely cognitively impaired, severely multiply impaired, moderately cognitively impaired, visually impaired, and hearing-impaired students. It was established in 2005.

Detroit Collaborative Design Center is an outreach of University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture in response to the decline of Detroit, Michigan, with changes in the auto industry. It uses participatory community design to enhance the appearance and functionality of residential, business, and recreational areas as well as community centers, schools, and streetscapes.

The Louis G. Redstone Residential Historic District consists of three houses located at 19303, 19309 and 19315 Appoline Street in the Greenwich Park neighborhood in northwest Detroit. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.The houses were designed by Redstone for occupancy by himself (19303 Appoline), his brother Solomon Redstone (19309 Appoline), and his business partner, architect Henry J . Abrams (19315 Appoline). The district is significant because the houses exhibit many of the fundamental characteristics of the International Style, as evidenced by the simple geometric form and proportions with lack of ornamentation, the low-sloped hip roofs, and use of corner windows, textured glass block, and curved bays. The design of the houses is distinctive in the use of reclaimed common red brick for the exterior, rather than the white stucco usually associated with the International style. The site also includes a perimeter brick wall that encloses the common rear yards, an outdoor cook stove, and a small wading pool decorated with stylized snail sculptures by artist Samuel Cashwan.

The University of Detroit Mercy is a private Roman Catholic university in Detroit, Michigan. It is sponsored by both the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and the Sisters of Mercy. The university was founded in 1877 and is the largest Catholic university in Michigan. It has three campuses where it offers more than 100 academic degree programs. In athletics, the university sponsors 17 NCAA Division I sports for men and women. It is a member of the Horizon League.
