Augusta AVA

Klondike is an unincorporated community in southern St. Charles County, in the U.S. state of Missouri.The community lies above the Missouri River floodplain, east of Augusta. Missouri Route 94 passes to the north of the community and St. Albans lies to the east across the river.

Robert Ewich Farmstead is a historic home and farm located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The house was built about 1865, and is a two-story, three-bay, front-gabled, red brick dwelling on a stone foundation. The house measures approximately 35 feet wide and 30 feet deep and has a central-passage plan. Also on the property is a contributing board-and-batten barn dated to about 1865.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Augusta Harmonie Verein, also known as the American Legion Post 262 and Grand Army of the Republic Hall, is a historic clubhouse located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. It was built in 1869, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, frame building with board and batten siding. It measures approximately 35 feet wide by 95 feet deep and has a weatherboarded addition built about 1970. Also on the property is a contributing octagonal bandstand constructed about 1890.: 6 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Staudinger–Grumke House–Store is a historic home and store located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The house was built about 1859 by August Staudinger, and was later purchased by George Grumke in 1873, who used the structure to operate a saloon on the ground floor. The property was in the Grumke family until 1932.The home is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, brick I-house. The store occupied the first floor with living quarters above. It measures approximately 46 feet wide by 43 feet deep and has a one-story frame addition built about 1880.: 3–4 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. It is located in the Walnut Street Historic District.

Mt. Pleasant Winery Historic District is a historic winery and national historic district located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The district encompasses a frame half-timber house (c. 1859) with brick outbuilding (c. 1880); a brick winery building (1881) with a stone well house (1881); and wine cellars (c. 1865). The winery building measures approximately 24 feet by 62 feet, 6 inches, with a 15 foot by 17 foot extension leading to the wine cellars. The wine cellars feature brick floors and brick barrel vaults supported by stone walls.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Walnut Street Historic District is a national historic district located at the northern end of Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The District includes residential and commercial buildings constructed from the mid-19th to mid-20th centuries. Although there have been some minor modifications, the District appears as it did when the town was founded, and many buildings are still owned by descendants of German settlers. Located in the district is the separately listed Staudinger-Grumke House-Store.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

J. F. Schroer House-Store is a historic home and store located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The house was built about 1865–1866, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, brick dwelling with a central passage plan. The store occupied the first floor with living quarters above. It measures approximately 50 feet wide by 36 feet deep and has a side-gable roof and wine cellar.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Dr. C. L. Gerling House is a historic home located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. It was built about 1850, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, half-timber frame dwelling sheathed in weatherboard. The house measures approximately 27 feet wide and 35 feet deep. It has a side gable roof and sits on a stone foundation.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Augusta is a city in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. The population was 270 at the 2020 census, up from 253 at the 2010 census. Starting in 2020, David Hoffmann and the Hoffmann Family of Companies have invested to grow the region into a wine-tourism destination and have purchased more than two dozen properties, including four wineries and six vineyards.Augusta is a popular stop along the Katy Trail, a 225-mile-long bike and walking path built along a former railroad right-of-way.

The Harold–Knoernschild Farmstead Historic District, also known as Centennial Farms, is a historic home and farm and national historic district located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. The house was built about 1836, and is a two-story, log farmhouse sheathed in weatherboard. A one-story brick addition was constructed about 1882. The house features a stone chimney with hearths on both stories and a two-story, full facade porch. Also on the property is a contributing board-and-batten barn dated to about 1860 and two early-20th century farm outbuildings. The house was built by Leonard Harold, founder of Augusta.: 6–7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Charles McLee Farris House is a historic home located at Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. It was built about 1850, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, frame dwelling on a stone foundation and with a saddlebag plan. The house measures approximately 32 feet wide and 30 feet deep. It has a side gable roof with dormer and one-bay front porch.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Klondike Park is a county park in St. Charles County, Missouri. The park offers access to hiking and cycling trails including the Katy Trail. Camping and fishing facilities are also available. Klondike park also has a very diverse set of wildlife and habitats.
