Middlemore Hospital

Middlemore is a suburb of the former Manukau City, one of the four cities that made up the conurbation of Auckland, in northern New Zealand, until 2010. The suburb is located on flat land at the southern end of the Ōtāhuhu isthmus, at the end of an arm of the Tamaki River and 18 kilometres southeast of Auckland city centre. It is located on State Highway 1, and the North Island Main Trunk railway passes by the Middlemore Hospital. Middlemore's most well-known landmarks are Middlemore Hospital and the Auckland Golf Club course, which surrounds the hospital grounds. Adjacent to both the golf club and Otahuhu College is the private secondary school, King's College.

Middlemore railway station is on the Southern Line and Eastern Line of the Auckland railway network in New Zealand. The station has side platforms on the northbound and southbound lines connected by a pedestrian level crossing at the south end of the platforms. Access to the station is via Hospital Road: it is next to Middlemore Hospital.

De La Salle College is an integrated Catholic secondary boys' school in the south of Auckland, New Zealand. Established in 1953 by the De La Salle Brothers, it continues to educate young men in the Catholic faith and Christian values. In New Zealand there are two schools along with De La Salle College established by the Brothers in New Zealand. Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth and John Paul College in Rotorua. Students are encouraged to develop every aspect of their person and a strong emphasis is placed on excellence in academic study, cultural pride and sporting ability. King's College (Latin: Collegium Regis; Māori: Kīngi Kāreti), often informally referred to simply as King's, is an independent secondary boarding and day school in New Zealand. It educates over 1000 pupils, aged 13 to 18 years. King's was originally a single sex boys school but has admitted girls in the Sixth and Seventh forms (Years 12 and 13) since 1980, and in the Fifth form (Year 11) since 2016. King's was founded in 1896 by Graham Bruce. King's was originally situated in Remuera, Auckland on the site now occupied by King's School, Remuera, in 1922 the school moved to its present site in the South Auckland suburb of Otahuhu.The school has strong links to the Anglican church; the Anglican Bishop of Auckland, and the Dean of Auckland are permanent members of the school's Board Of Governors. The College is a member of the Round Square group. King's celebrated its 125-year anniversary in 2021, while the 40 year anniversary of girls attending King's was celebrated in 2020.

Otahuhu College is a secondary school in Auckland, New Zealand for students years 9 to 13.

The Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre (MRRC) is the central processing and assessment location for all refugees who arrive in New Zealand. It is a housing complex, set on a 10-acre (40,000 m2) site in Auckland owned by the New Zealand Government where all United Nations Quota Refugees enter for a 6-week period of assessment and orientation prior to resettlement. The MRRC is the national refugee resettlement operation for New Zealand and is a 'one-stop-shop' with a collaborative service run by several key agencies. including Immigration New Zealand, Refugees As Survivors New Zealand (RASNZ), Auckland Public Health Refugee Medical Services, Refugee Services Aotearoa New Zealand Inc., Auckland University of Technology, and the Red Cross.

The Tāmaki Bridge is a bridge along the Great South Road crossing the Tāmaki River in Auckland, New Zealand, connecting the suburbs of Ōtāhuhu and Papatoetoe. The first bridge opened in 1851, and was significantly widened in 1932.

Māngere East or Mangere East is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, under the governance of Auckland Council. It is located to the south of Favona, north of Papatoetoe, west of Middlemore, east of Māngere and Māngere Bridge, and southwest of Ōtāhuhu. In 2019, the name of the suburb was officially gazetted as Māngere East.

Otahuhu Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Auckland, New Zealand. The club was established in 1926 and is affiliated with the Auckland Rugby Football Union. The club have historically been one of the most successful in Auckland history, having won the Gallaher Shield on nine occasions, most recently in 2000. Otahuhu have also produced numerous Auckland and international representatives, including 13 All Blacks.

Robertson Hill (also Sturges Park, Mount Robertson or Te Tapuwae a Mataoho) is one of the volcanoes in the Auckland volcanic field in New Zealand. It erupted approximately 24,300 years ago. The hill, alongside Māngere Lagoon, Waitomokia, Crater Hill, Kohuora and Pukaki Lagoon, is one of the volcanic features collectively referred to as Nga Tapuwae a Mataoho ("The Sacred Footprints of Mataoho"), referring to the deity in Tāmaki Māori myths who was involved in their creation.Its scoria cone reaches 78 metres above sea level (around 28 m above the surrounding land). The cone sits in the centre of a large explosion (maar) crater with the tuff ring arc still present around the south and east sides. In the 20th century, the scoria cone crater was reshaped into a sports oval with terraced seating, and is the home ground of Otahuhu RFC.

Kedgley Intermediate School is an intermediate school (years 7–8) in Papatoetoe, a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand The school opened in February 1958 as Papatoetoe Intermediate School. Classes were held in part of Papatoetoe High School for the first year. After principal Maurice F. Kedgley died the school was renamed Kedgley Intermediate School in his memory in 1968, and Otara Intermediate School was renamed Papatoetoe Intermediate School.Teachers at Kedgley Intermediate have subject specialisations, such as science, social studies and physical education.

Otahuhu Railway Workshops were a major rolling stock construction, maintenance and repair facility operated by the New Zealand Railways Department (NZR), in the south Auckland suburb of Otahuhu in New Zealand's North Island. The workshops were opened in 1928 and were closed in 1992 as part of a rationalisation of workshop facilities throughout the country. Otahuhu Workshops were built following a report that highlighted the inadequacies of the Newmarket Workshops, the central Auckland facility that the Otahuhu Workshops replaced. Originally it was proposed that Otahuhu would carry out locomotive work and Wellington's Hutt Workshops would be the Car and Wagon Workshop. This was reversed when it was found that the land on which Otahuhu was to be built was not suitable for the heavy machinery required for locomotive work. Though officially a Car and Wagon Shop, Otahuhu did some repair and maintenance work on steam and diesel locomotives and railcars.
