The Comarca de Antequera is one of the nine comarcas (currently with no administrative role) in the province of Málaga, in Andalusia, southern Spain. It is located in the area of the Surco Intrabético range, on the boundary with the province of Córdoba. The landscape is largely plain (Hoya de Antequera), run by the higher valley of the Guadalhorce river. The present-day comarca was established in 2003 by the Government of Andalusia.

Alameda is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 85 km from the city of Málaga. It has a population of approximately 5,000 and the natives are called Alamedanos or Lametanos. It takes its name from the stream Álamos, which crosses the municipality. The Bandito "El Tempranillo" is buried here. It is located north of Antequera and 430 meters above sea level. The average annual precipitation is in the 610 L/m2 and the average temperature is 16 °C. Almadea has an area of about 65 km2.

Antequera-Santa Ana railway station is a railway station at a railway junction near the Spanish town of Antequera, Málaga in Andalusia. It is located 17 kilometres (11 mi) from the town centre. It was created principally to serve passengers on the developing AVE high-speed rail system. However, the station has access to Iberian gauge lines for conventional services.

Bobadilla, also known as Bobadilla Pueblo ("Bobadilla Village"), is a Spanish village in the municipality of Antequera, in the province of Málaga, Andalusia. It is located in the west of the Antequerano municipal territory, 3 km from Bobadilla railway station.

Fuente de Piedra Lagoon is a wetland located in the Málaga province of Spain. It is used by the greater flamingo for its annual reproduction cycle, constituting the largest colony on the Iberian Peninsula of this bird. The lagoon is fed by underwater springs that pass through mineral salt deposits, so the lagoon is saline - indeed salt was harvested until recently. The lagoon covers an area of 13 square kilometres (5.0 sq mi). It is elliptical in shape. Its major axis is 6.8 kilometres (4.2 mi) and the minor one is 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi). However it is very shallow; in a good year it is less than 1 metre (3 ft 3 in) deep at its deepest point. Evaporation is a major factor for the lagoon. The flamingos need a certain amount of water to breed and will desert the eggs if the lagoon dries out too soon. In April 2023, due to drought, the lake dried up and turned into a salt pan, interrupting the flamingos breeding cycle and forcing them to leave the lake earlier than usual.

The Hoya of Antequera (also Antequera Depression or, in Spanish, Depresión de Antequera, Hoya de Antequera or Vega de Antequera) is a sedimentary basin located in the northern part of the province of Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. It takes its name from the city of Antequera, located within the depression. It is located in the Baetic Cordillera, with the Cordilleras Subbéticas to its north and the Cordillera Penibética to its south. It is one of the series of valleys forming the Surco Intrabético. In the east a narrow pass connects it to the Depression of Granada. In the west, the Serranía de Ronda separates it from the Depression of Ronda. The term hoya literally means "trough" and refers to the boxed in character of the area. The plain composes most of the Comarca de Antequera. Running through the Hoya of Antequera is the upper portion of the Guadalhorce, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea near the city of Málaga. The plain consists of rolling fields dotted with hills. Water is abundant. Rainfall, unable to form streams on this uneven terrain, accumulates in the center, forming lagoons such as the Campillos Lagoons, Archidona Lagoons, Ratosa Laguna, and the largest, the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon, birthplace to thousands of flamingoes every year. Because of its central location in Andalusia, it is a principal node for that region's land routes.

It is part of the judicial district of Archidona. The municipality is situated 75 kilometers from Málaga and 495 km from Madrid In 2011 it had a population of 1,482 inhabitants. Its surface area is 16.53 km2. Cuevas Bajas has a density of 89.66 inhabitants/km2. The natives are called Cueveños.

Villanueva de Algaidas is a town and municipality in the North-Eastern Malaga comarca (Nororma), province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 11 kilometres from Archidona, 30 from Antequera and 70 from the provincial capital of Málaga. It has a population of approximately 4,200 residents. The natives are called Algaideños.

Encinas Reales is a municipality located in the province of Córdoba, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the city has a population of 2,425 inhabitants.
