Raymond's Hill

St Andrew's Church is a Church of England church in Monkton Wyld, Dorset, England. It was built in 1848–49 to the designs of Richard Cromwell Carpenter and has been a Grade II* listed building since 1960.

Holcombe is a hamlet in the district of East Devon in the English county of Devon. Holcombe is located northwest of the town of Lyme Regis about a mile west of Uplyme. The Iron Age "Holcombe Mirror", now in the British Museum, was found on a farm here in 1970 by Devon Archaeological Society when excavating the site of a Roman villa.

Moridunum was a fort and small town in the Roman province of Britannia. Its remains are located at Woodbury Farm, immediately south of Axminster in the English county of Devon. The square fort was built at the intersection of two Roman roads, the Fosse Way and Durnovaria-Isca Dumnoniorum road, apparently in the 2nd century. Its ditch survives around much of the site. A civilian settlement soon grew up nearby, encouraged by the building of what has been interpreted as a large stone mansio for the provincial postal service. It was a centre for pottery production in the 3rd century and occupation continued until the end of the 4th.

Abbey Gate is a hamlet just south of Axminster in Devon, England. Abbey Gate is at the junction between the A35 and A358 main roads, just west of Wyke.Abbey Gate is in a very rural area and has almost no residential infrastructure, only consisting of a farm and a carpet factory. Abbey Gate has a bus stop is served by the local bus route 885. Much of a smaller hamlet called Archway House is within Abbey Gate and has many of its buildings within it.Abbey Gate is the site of Newham Abbey, whence it takes its name. Abbey Gate has a camping and caravanning site.

Uplyme is an English village and civil parish in East Devon on the Devon-Dorset border and the River Lym, adjacent to the Dorset coastal town of Lyme Regis. It has a population of approximately 1700 recounted as 1663 at the 2011 census. Uplyme is situated in the electoral ward of Trinity whose population at the above census was 2,521.

Axe Valley Academy, previously known as The Axe Valley Community College, is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Axminster, Devon in the South West of England. The school was awarded specialist Business and Enterprise College status in September 2004, and has provided Post 16 education since the opening of a sixth form in September 2001. Newenham Abbey (alias Newnham) was a Cistercian abbey founded in 1247 by Reginald II de Mohun (1206–1258) on land within his manor of Axminster in Devon, England. The site of the ruined abbey is a short distance south-west of the town of Axminster.

Furzehill Plantation is a woodland in Devon, England, near the village of Uplyme. It covers a total area of 1.22 hectares (3.01 acres). It is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.

St Mary's Church is a Church of England church in Axminster, Devon, England. The church has Norman origins, although much of the building dates from the 13th–15th centuries. St Mary's is Axminster's parish church and the oldest building in the town.St Mary's has been Grade II* Listed since 1950. The earliest surviving section of the church is a reset doorway from the Norman period, while the tower, rebuilt in the 13th century, was restored in 1896. The church suffered an arson attack in 2014, and underwent restoration and repair work before reopening in 2015.A World War I memorial is located in the churchyard. An obelisk with Perpendicular decorations, it has been Grade II Listed since 1983. It lists the names of 65 local men who lost their lives in the war, with a later addition of 19 names from World War II. An early 19th-century tomb chest, located by the churchyard's north east gate, is also Grade II Listed.

Axminster Monastery was a monastery in Devon, England. Cyneheard the Ætheling was buried in the minster.

Axminster is a market town and civil parish on the eastern border of the county of Devon in England. It is 28 miles (45 km) from the county town of Exeter. The town is built on a hill overlooking the River Axe which heads towards the English Channel at Axmouth, and is in the East Devon local government district. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 5,626, increasing to 5,761 at the 2011 census. The town contains two electoral wards (town and rural) whose combined population is 7,110. The market is still held every Thursday. Axminster gave its name to a type of carpet. An Axminster-type power loom is capable of weaving high quality carpets with many varying colours and patterns. While Axminster carpets are made in the town by Axminster Carpets Ltd, this type of carpet is now manufactured all over the world as well.

Axminster Rural District is a former district council area based around Axminster, Devon. It was administered by Axminster Rural District Council. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974.
