Edgerton is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,748. It is home to a large BNSF intermodal train facility named Logistics Park Kansas City.

The Lanesfield School is a historic limestone one-room school in Edgerton, Kansas that operated as a school from 1869 to 1963. The school is an example of the one-room schoolhouses that served much of rural America during the nineteenth century, and it is the only remaining structure from the former town of Lanesfield, which served as a mail stop along the Pony Express and Santa Fe Trail. The school was converted into a museum in 1967. The school is located on the Lanesfield Historic Site that includes the schoolhouse, four outbuildings, and a modern visitors center.

Gardner Edgerton High School (commonly called GE or GEHS) is a fully accredited public high school located in Gardner, Kansas, United States. It is the only high school in the Gardner–Edgerton USD 231 school district. The school colors are blue and white. GEHS is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A division and are known as the Trailblazers or Blazers for short. Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.

The William Thomas Turner Barn was built in 1898 near Gardner, Kansas, United States. The Turner barn is regarded as an outstanding example of barn construction, built by Arthur J. Clinton, a highly regarded barn builder. The barn has been extensively photographed and has been featured in magazines, greeting cards, calendars and other publications.The barn was built to a high standard of craftsmanship, using red cypress, a durable wood not often used in Kansas. The barn has a limestone foundation. The barn has two levels. The barn measures 62 feet (19 m) wide, 40 feet (12 m) deep and 45 feet (14 m) high overall. It is capped by two large wood ventilators. The interior has two main levels, with a large hayloft on the upper level. The lower level has intersecting corridors running down the center between the facades, with accommodations for 15 horses and three grain bins.The Turner barn's exterior materials and detailing are in a remarkable state of preservation. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1999. The Turner Barn is still owned by the Turner Family and is open to the public.

First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Gardner, Kansas is a PC(USA) congregation that was established in 1866. The church now occupies its third building; the first two buildings both were destroyed, one after being hit by lightning, and another due to an electrical fire. First Presbyterian Church has a congregation of approximately 400 adult members. In addition to weekly and holiday services, the church has an active youth group, and several community outreach programs.

Hillsdale State Park is a state park in Paola, Kansas, United States. This park located in eastern Kansas was built on the shore of Hillsdale Lake which was completed in 1982. The park itself was established and opened in 1994. The state park features two hiking trails.
