Thistletown

Thistletown Collegiate Institute (also called Thistletown C.I., T.C.I. or Thistletown) is a high school located in Toronto, in the former city of Etobicoke. It was built originally for the Etobicoke Board of Education and is now a part of the Toronto District School Board. The school is located at the corner of Fordwich Crescent and Islington Avenue. The motto of the school is "Scientia Crescat Vita Colatur" (Let knowledge grow so that life may be enriched).

Nile Academy (Turkish: Nil Akademi) (Nicknamed "Okul"; lit. "School" in Turkish), located in the Humber Summit neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, is a Canadian private school for students between Kindergarten and Grade Twelve. Originally founded in 2005 by Muslim Turkish immigrants belonging to the Hizmet Movement in order to better serve the growing Turkish-Canadian community, the school now has a wide range of students from a variety of backgrounds.

Smithfield is part of the Rexdale neighbourhood in the northwestern area of Etobicoke, in the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Some new residents of Toronto and new immigrants to Canada are attracted to this neighbourhood, mainly because there is a large amount of affordable public housing. It is named after the former village of Smithfield that was located at the intersection of Albion Road and Martin Grove Road.The neighbourhood covers the residential areas of Etobicoke north of the west branch of the Humber River and west of Kipling Avenue. The west and north of the neighbourhood are small industrial areas. For social purposes, the city identifies the neighbourhood as Mount Olive-Silverstone-Jamestown, named for three streets in the area. Mount Olive is the name given to the area north of Albion Road between Kipling and Martin Grove. Jamestown is the part of the community south of Albion between Kipling and Martin Grove. Silverstone covers the area west of Martin Grove and north of Finch. The northernmost section of the neighbourhood, above the hydro right of way, is known as South Steeles. The western projection of the area running along the south side of Finch is known as Woodbine Downs.

Etobicoke North (French: Etobicoke-Nord) is a federal electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented by one Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of Canada since 1979. It covers the neighbourhood of Rexdale, in the northern part of the Etobicoke district of Toronto. The riding was created in 1976 from parts of Etobicoke and York West. In the House of Commons, the riding has been represented by Liberal Kirsty Duncan since 2008.

Etobicoke North is a provincial electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It is currently the constituency of Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from parts of Etobicoke—Rexdale and Etobicoke—Humber. At the time, it included all of Etobicoke north of a line following the 401 to Dixon Road to Royal York Road to La Rose Avenue. In 2007, the southern border was altered to follow Dixon Road all the way to Humber River.

Rexdale is a neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located north-west of the central core, in the former city of Etobicoke. Rexdale defines an area of several official neighbourhoods north of Highway 401 and east of Highway 427. Rexdale was originally a post World War II residential development within Etobicoke, and today is applied to a general area from Malton and Toronto Pearson International Airport in the City of Mississauga to the west, Highway 401 to the south, Steeles Avenue to the north, and the Humber River to the east. It is centred on Rexdale Boulevard and Islington Avenue.

Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic Secondary School (Monsignor Percy Johnson CSS, MPJCSS, MPJ or Johnson) is a Roman Catholic high school in Rexdale, northern Etobicoke in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The school was opened in 1984 at the former Rexdale Junior School before moving to the Heatherbrae Middle School in 1986. It is located next to St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church and Catholic School and was named after Percy Johnson (September 22, 1912 – December 22, 1983), a Catholic priest and member of the former Metropolitan Separate School Board. . The motto of the school is Heart Speaks to Heart.

The Sringeri Sharadamba Temple of Toronto (Kannada: ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ ಶಾರದಾಂಬೆ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಟೊರೊಂಟೊ), (Telugu: టొరొంటో శృంగేరి శారదా పీఠం), (Tamil: ஸ்ரிங்கேரி ேகாவில்) is a Hindu temple located in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sharadamba. It is more popularly known as SVBF Canada or Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation Canada. The temple is modelled after the original 8th-century Sringeri Sharadamba Temple located at Sringeri in Chikkamagaluru District in Karnataka, India.

Humber Summit is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the northernmost neighbourhoods in Toronto, located in the North York district of the city. It is bounded by Steeles Avenue to the north, Highway 400 to the east, Finch Avenue to the south, and follows the Humber River (east branch) to the west.

North Albion Collegiate Institute (abbreviated as North Albion CI, NACI or North Albion) is a high school in the Etobicoke area of the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Toronto District School Board. Prior to 1998, it was part of the Etobicoke Board of Education. Its motto is Virtus, Officium, Vertias ("Excellence, Service, Truth").

West Humber Collegiate Institute (WHCI, West Humber) is a public high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is situated at the corner of Martin Grove Road and John Garland Blvd., just south of Finch Avenue West in the neighbourhood of Rexdale. Opened in 1966, the institute is owned and operated by the Toronto District School Board. Prior to 1998, it was overseen by the Etobicoke Board of Education. Since 1998, the school has annually awarded the Pamela M. Prinold Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is given to a student who demonstrates community involvement, making a difference in their community, and strength in volunteering and leadership – all qualities that Pam Prinold was renowned for.

The CSA Group (formerly the Canadian Standards Association; CSA) is a standards organization which develops standards in 57 areas. CSA publishes standards in print and electronic form, and provides training and advisory services. CSA is composed of representatives from industry, government, and consumer groups. CSA began as the Canadian Engineering Standards Association (CESA) in 1919, federally chartered to create standards. During World War I, lack of interoperability between technical resources led to the formation of a standards committee. CSA is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada, a crown corporation which promotes voluntary standardization in Canada. This accreditation verifies that CSA is competent to carry out standards development and certification functions, and is based on internationally recognised criteria and procedures.The CSA registered mark shows that a product has been independently tested and certified to meet recognized standards for safety or performance.
