Leith Hospital was situated on Mill Lane in Leith, Edinburgh, and was a general hospital with adult medical and surgical wards, paediatric medical and surgical wards, a casualty department and a wide range of out-patient services. It closed in 1987.

Leith School of Art (LSA) is an independent art college in Edinburgh, Scotland, providing tertiary education in art and design. LSA is located in the Leith area of Edinburgh, in the former converted Norwegian Seamen's Church, originally built by Scottish architect James Simpson and Danish architect Johan Schroder in 1868.LSA was founded by Mark and Charlotte Cheverton. It was founded in 1988 or 1989 with the aim: " ... to create a school with a vital artistic life emphasising both tradition and innovation, to produce work of distinctive quality and character." LSA has always been based in the former Norwegian Seamen's Church in Leith. Studios are set out on three levels in the main church building, with additional studio and lecture space in the former church hall at the rear of the main building. In 1999 a modern extension was built around three sides of the former church, adding further studio space, a small library and entrance hall.

Cables Wynd House, better known as the Leith Banana Flats or the Banana Block because of its curved shape, is a nine-storey local authority housing block in Leith, Edinburgh. The building, in fact, has ten storeys. The ground floor is called Cables Wynd and the nine floors above constitute Cables Wynd House. This often leads to confusion in postal and other services. Communal heating and other energy measures have recently been installed by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Leith Library is one of Edinburgh's 28 freely-accessible libraries. It is a category B listed building. located in Leith, in the northern part of the city, at the foot of Ferry Road shortly before it meets Great Junction Street and North Junction Street. The stone marking the first phase of construction was laid by the then Lord Provost, Alexander Stevenson in 1929. It was designed by Bradshaw Gass & Hope and opened in 1932. The building suffered bomb damage in 1941 but was subsequently restored and re-opened in 1955.The library is currently open six days a week and, in addition to the collection of books, offers visitors computer access, a for-hire community room, public exhibition space, a knitting group and a weekly children's crafts class/workshop.Local-area MSP Ben Macpherson also host surgeries within the library, and the local registrar's office adjoins the main library building. To the building's rear is the Leith Theatre.As with all of the City's libraries, Leith public library uses the Library of Congress Classification system for its adult collection. As of 1974, Edinburgh is the only area in the UK where public libraries utilise the US classification scheme. Children's books, and some non-English works, are indexed using the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme.

Leith Citadel, renamed in 1952 from North Leith, was an early railway terminus in Leith, Scotland. It was on Commercial Street, near the Leith Docks.

Leith Theatre (also known as Leith Town Hall and alternatively, in 1975 and 1976, Citadel Theatre) is a theatre located on Ferry Road in Edinburgh, Scotland. It opened in 1932 and ceased operation in 1988. Following the efforts of Leith Theatre Trust, fundraising and campaigning is currently underway to support Leith Theatre's redevelopment and eventual full reopening as an arts and community venue.

Bonnington is a district of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The area centres upon an original village which grew up around a ford on the Water of Leith on the old boundary between Edinburgh and the port of Leith. Before the creation of Leith Walk the road via the villages of Broughton and Bonnington, or Wester Road as it appears on some old maps, was one of two roads formerly connecting Edinburgh to Leith; the other being Easter Road. The district lies between the districts of Pilrig and Newhaven.

Henderson Street is a street in Leith, a district of the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. It forms a curving artery between Great Junction Street and an area known as the Shore, where the Water of Leith runs into the Port of Leith/Leith Docks. Henderson Street lies within the boundaries of the Leith Conservation Area and includes several listed buildings. The street is named after Dr John Henderson, M.D. (1819–1901), a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and twice Provost of Leith: from 1875-81 and again in 1887. Dr. Henderson worked to secure the implementation of the Leith Improvement Scheme (see below) which ultimately led to the street being built.

Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce (English: Parkside Primary School, referring to the adjoining Pilrig Park) is a Gaelic medium primary school in Edinburgh, Scotland. Administered by the City of Edinburgh Council, the school is open to any parents in the city or surrounding areas who wish to have their children learn and be educated through Scottish Gaelic. The opening of Edinburgh's first dedicated Gaelic school on 16 August 2013, after many years of campaigning by parents and supporters, was hailed as a "landmark day" for the Scottish capital.Situated in the south of the district (and former municipal burgh) of Leith, Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce is housed in the refurbished former Bonnington Primary School building. The original 2-storey T-shaped school was built between 1875 and 1877 to the plans of James Simpson (1832-1894), then architect of the Leith School Board, and subsequently extended in 1907 by Simpson's old apprentice and eventual successor, George Craig (1852-1928).As of March 2021 Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce has a pupil roll of 418 pupils across 16 classes, as well as provision for a 40:40 Nursery. The school originated in the highly successful Gaelic unit within Tollcross Primary School. The unit opened in 1988 as a single class with seven children and subsequently grew in size and stature. The majority of children in Gaelic-medium education at Tollcross Primary School transferred to Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce at its opening. The school feeds into James Gillespie's High School, which has a Gaelic language unit for 120 pupils, for Secondary education. The City of Edinburgh Council are currently considering options for a replacement, standalone Gaelic Medium secondary school. Sites which have been considered include on a shared campus with Liberton High School or on vacated sites at the former Lothian and Borders Police headquarters in Fettes or the Royal Victoria Hospital in Craigleith.
