The University of Antwerp (Dutch: Universiteit Antwerpen) is a major Belgian university located in the city of Antwerp. The official abbreviation is UA, but UAntwerpen is more recently used. The University of Antwerp has about 20,000 students, which makes it the third-largest university in Flanders. The University of Antwerp is characterised by its high standards in education, internationally competitive research and entrepreneurial approach. It was founded in 2003 after the merger of three smaller universities. The University of Antwerp ranks as 143rd globally according to 2022 Times Higher Education ranking, 223rd according to 2019 QS World University Rankings and between the 201 and 300th place according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities. The university ranked 7th in the Times Higher Education Ranking for Young Universities (2019) and 18th in the QS University Ranking Top 50 Under 50 (2020). In ten domains the university's research is among the best in the world: Drug Discovery and Development; Ecology and Sustainable Development; Port, Transport and Logistics; Imaging; Infectious Diseases; Materials Characterisation; Neurosciences; Socio-economic Policy and Organisation; Public Policy and Political Science; Urban History and Contemporary Urban Policy.In September 2020, the University of Antwerp chose to start the new academic year with stricter coronavirus measures than those recommended by the government.

The Antwerp Management School (Dutch: Antwerp Management School) is the University of Antwerp's autonomous business school. It is located in the historical center of the city of Antwerp. The school offers eight full-time master programs and more than sixty short or long-term executive programs on a variety of subjects. The majority of students at Antwerp Management School come from abroad, which reflects the global perspective of the school. Additionally, the school has strong ties with many Chinese institutions.

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (Dutch: Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen) is an art academy located in Antwerp, Belgium. It is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. It was founded in 1663 by David Teniers the Younger, painter to the Archduke Leopold Wilhelm and Don Juan of Austria. Teniers was master of the Guild of St Luke—which embraced arts and some handicrafts—and petitioned Philip IV of Spain, then master of the Spanish Netherlands, to grant a royal charter to establish a Fine Arts Academy in Antwerp. It houses the Antwerp Fashion Academy.

St. James' Church (Dutch: Sint-Jacobskerk) is a former Collegiate church in Antwerp, Belgium. The church is built on the site of a hostel for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. The present building is the work of the Waghemakere family and Rombout Keldermans, in Brabantine Gothic style. The church contains the grave of Peter Paul Rubens in the eastern chapel.

Callewaert Vanlangendonck Gallery is a Belgian art gallery for abstract art in Antwerp. It was founded in 2012 by Yoeri Vanlangendonck and Brecht Callewaert in the Wolstraat in Antwerp. In 2013 a second space opened in the same street. In 2017, the gallery expanded with a 17th-century building in the Antwerp university area, renovated by architects Rolies + Dubois and opened by Minister of Culture Sven Gatz and university Rector Herman Van Goethem.Artists such as Guy Vandenbranden, Paul Van Hoeydonck, Pol Bury, Michel Seuphor, Jan Dries, Jan Cox, Mark Verstockt and Gilbert Swimberghe exhibited at the gallery. In addition to exhibiting the work of abstract artists from the fifties and sixties, the gallery also represents the estate of Guy Vandenbranden and manages its artists' archive. The gallery also collaborates with contemporary artists such as Koen van den Broek, Guillaume Bijl, Timothy Segers, Jef Meyer and Boy & Erik Stappaerts.

AP or in full Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp (Dutch: Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen), founded in 1995, is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the city of Antwerp (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants) and created as a merger between Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen and Plantijn Hogeschool. In the 2013–2014 academic year, the university college started with 22 bachelor programs, 6 art courses and more than 8,500 students. On 12 December 2012, Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerp was announced as the new name for the Antwerp merger.[1] [2] The Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool is also a member of AUHA, the Association University and Colleges Antwerp.

The Snijders&Rockox House (Dutch: Snijders&Rockoxhuis) is a museum in Antwerp, Belgium. It is located in two neighbouring townhouses formerly owned by the artist Frans Snyders (1579–1657) and the mayor Nicolaas Rockox (1560–1640). It is owned by KBC Bank and showcases a collection of 16th century art.

The Violieren (wallflower or gillyflower) was a chamber of rhetoric that dates back to the 15th century in Antwerp, when it was a social drama society with close links to the Guild of Saint Luke. It was one of three drama guilds in the city, the other two being the Goudbloem and the Olyftack. In 1660 the Violieren merged with former rival Olyftack, and in 1762 the society was dissolved altogether.

De Olijftak (The Olive Branch), or in full Gulde van den Heyligen Geest die men noempt den Olijftak (Confraternity of the Holy Spirit called the Olive Branch) was a chamber of rhetoric that dates back to the early 16th century in Antwerp, when it was a social drama society drawing its membership primarily from merchants and tradesmen. In 1660 it merged with its former rival the Violieren (which was more closely associated with artists and intellectuals), and in 1762 the society was dissolved altogether.

The Goudbloem (marigold) was a chamber of rhetoric, a society to promote poetry and drama, that dated back to the 15th century in Antwerp. It was one of three drama guilds in the city, the other two being the Violieren and the Olyftack. It ceased to exist around 1654. The Violieren and Olyftack merged in 1660, and survived until 1762.

The Letterenhuis ("House of Literature") is a Belgian non-profit organization located in Antwerp. The Letterenhuis collects and archives information of Flemish writers and artists, and portraits concerning Flemish culture as from 1750. The Letterenhuis fulfills two tasks: on the one hand it is an archiving and documentation centre and on the other hand it is a museum. The most interesting part of its collection are the manuscripts of famous Belgian authors like Hendrik Conscience, Willem Elsschot and the contemporary writer Tom Lanoye. In 2012 the Letterenhuis featured a theme exhibition about Louis Paul Boon to honor his one hundredth birth year.

The bourse of Antwerp was the world's first purpose-built commodity exchange. Falling into disuse in the 17th century, from 1872 until 1997 the restored building housed the Antwerp Stock Exchange. After further restoration, the building is now part of an events venue that goes by the English name Antwerp Trade Fair. The Royal Exchange, London was modelled on the Antwerp Exchange.
