Xove is a municipality of Galicia, Spain in the province of Lugo.

Burela is a municipality in the Galician province of Lugo. It is in the comarca of A Mariña. Burela is a coastal town on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea. An extension area of 8.2 square kilometers was created in 1994, following the segregation of the municipality of Cervo. Its fishing port is one of the most important of the Galician coast and has a large fleet of ships. Its economy is based mainly on fishing, in particular, albacore ("bonito del norte") and hake are delivered daily to the rest of Spain. As a result, a canning industry has developed. Due to the high demand for personnel to work at sea, Burela is a multicultural town which has many residents from Cape Verde and has recently had an influx of immigrants from Peru, Indonesia, and other places. The population grew considerably in the latter part of the twentieth century.

A Mariña Occidental is a comarca in the Galician Province of Lugo. The overall population of this local region is 25,659 (2019).

Illa Coelleira, or Colleira (Spanish: Isla Conejera, literal translation: Rabbits' Island), is a small island located in the mouth of the Barqueiro river, off the town of Viveiro, in the Rias Altas coastal region of Galicia, Spain. The island is part of O Vicedo municipality. It is known best as the site of a former monastery, and today houses a lighthouse to aid navigation.

German submarine U-966 was a Type VIIC U-boat of the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) during World War II. She was ordered on 5 June 1941, and was laid down on 1 May 1942 at Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, as yard number 166. She was launched on 14 January 1943 and commissioned under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Eckehard Wolf on 4 March 1943.

San Miguel das Negradas (O Vicedo) is one of the parishes of the municipality of O Vicedo in Galicia, Spain. San Miguel das Negradas is on the north-west coast of the province of Lugo, on the border with the municipality of Mañón in the province of A Coruña. The parish includes the island of San Martiño. In 1991 it had a population of 339 inhabitants distributed in the lugares of: San Roque (previously called Santa Mariña), with a chapel of the same name. Includes, apart from San Roque, Crecide, A Gateriza, A Poceira, A Barreira, and A Gándara O Mosteiro — where a monastery existed during the Middle Ages. Includes also: Chelo, Noche, Salgueiros, A Redonda, As Alpuxarras O Outro Lado (O Morgallón, Creximil, A Aspra, O Montedinsua) O Xurbal, O Muronovo, O Abelaedo.

San Martiño (Saint Martin) is a small island off the north coast of Galician, Spain, at the mouth of the Sor river and the beginning of Ría (estuary) of O Barqueiro. It is formed from a meander of the Sor river. The island belongs to the parish of As Negradas, municipality of O Vicedo.

Creximil is a small village located in San Miguel das Negradas (O Vicedo), in the Sor estuary in Spain.

Estaca de Bares Lighthouse (Spanish: Faro de Estaca de Bares) is an active 19th century lighthouse in Estaca de Bares in the Province of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. It was built in 1850, and has a 10-metre-high (33 ft) tower.

Punta da Estaca de Bares is the northernmost point of Spain and the Iberian Peninsula, at a latitude of 43° 47′ 38″ North. It is located in Galicia. The peninsula of Estaca de Bares penetrates considerably into the Cantabrian Sea, and as a result it is one of the rainiest places in Europe, with more than 2500 mm a year (a Temperate rain forest). These special weather conditions have created over the centuries a unique ecosystem and biodiversity which have made it possible for this area to be declared an Area of National Natural Interest. The history of Estaca de Bares Point is very rich. The ruins of the Phoenician Salt Fish Factory and the Phoenician Port are open to visitors. There is a lighthouse that was constructed in 1850 and still works to this day, under the administration of the Captain of the Port of Ferrol, Spain. There is also a bird sanctuary, ruins of molinas (grain mills) and abandoned military bases located here. There is currently an abandoned military site there. It was first operated by the US Coast Guard beginning in the early 1960s as a LORAN (Long Range Aid to Navigation) Station. The station at Estaca de Bares operated jointly with stations operated by the British Government in East Blockhouse, Wales and, until 1973, the French Government in Pospoder, France. In 1978, after the Coast Guard ended the LORAN operations, the US Air Force assumed control of the base. The US Air Force 2186 Communications Squadron, headquartered at Torrejón Air Base near Madrid, operated the site as a remote Radio Relay Link (RRL) communications site until 1991, and it now sits in ruins. While the site was open, many Americans met and married local citizens. There are also a series of waterways that used to power mills for the local citizens. These mills are located between the abandoned military base and the bird sanctuary. The other site used to be an old signaling station used by the Spanish Navy. It has been converted into a hotel/restaurant. During World War II a German submarine was sunk off the coast there. One of the German officers who survived the sinking returned every year thereafter to mark the anniversary. After his death he had his ashes scattered over Estaca de Bares.
