Calgary-Fish Creek is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district is largely urban located in the south portion of the city of Calgary. It was named after Fish Creek Provincial Park and was created in the 1979 boundary redistribution from the south halves of the electoral districts of Calgary-Glenmore and Calgary-Egmont. The district has been represented by only three MLA's since 1979. The first was Progressive Conservative William Payne who served here from 1979 to 1993 and the second is Heather Forsyth who has represented the district since 1993 was first elected under the Progressive Conservative banner but crossed the floor to the Wildrose Alliance in 2010. Forsyth was re-elected in the 2012 provincial election under the Wildrose banner. In 2015, Richard Gotfried was elected, as a Progressive Conservative.

Calgary South was a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from 1963 to 1971. The district was one of 63 districts in 1963, and 65 in 1967, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting.

Queensland is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by the community of Diamond Cove, to the east by the Bow River and Fish Creek Provincial Park, to the south by Canyon Meadows Drive, and to the west by Bow Bottom Trail. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and Queensland was established in 1973. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Deer Ridge is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located in the Bow River valley, and is bounded to the north by Canyon Meadows Drive, to the east by Deercliff Road and the Bow River, to the south by Deerfield Circle and the community of Deer Run and to the west by Bow Bottom Trail. Fish Creek Provincial Park is located immediately east. The land was annexed into the City of Calgary in 1961, and Deer Ridge was established in 1978. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Lake Bonavista is a neighbourhood in Southeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded by Anderson Road to the north, Macleod Trail to the west, Canyon Meadows Drive to the south, and Bow Bottom Trail to the east. The small community of Bonavista Downs resides in the northeast corner of the neighbourhood.

Sundance is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located east of Macleod Trail, is bounded to the north and east by Midnapore and Fish Creek Provincial Park and to the south by Stoney Trail. The 33-acre (130,000 m2) man-made Sundance Lake was constructed in the middle of the community, and residents have easy access to the public beach of Sikome Lake. Sundance was established in 1982. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Deer Run is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located in a bend of the Bow River, and is surrounded to the east and south by the Fish Creek Provincial Park. It is bounded to the north by North Deersaxon Circle and the community of Deer Ridge and to the west by Bow Bottom Trail. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and Deer Run was established in 1978. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Diamond Cove is a small residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Anderson Road and Deerfoot Trail, to the east by the Bow River, to the south by Queensland, and to the west by Bow Bottom Trail. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and the neighbouring community of Queensland was established in 1973. Diamond Cove was established as an estate community with construction commencing in 1989, however the community was officially recognised in 1991. The community has a dedicated entrance, accessed from Bow Bottom Trail about 1.5 km north of Canyon Meadows Drive. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Midnapore is a community within the City of Calgary in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is bounded to the north and east by Fish Creek Provincial Park, to the south by Sun Valley Boulevard and to the west by Macleod Trail.

Centennial High School is a high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, teaching grades 10 through 12. The school's name was chosen as a reference to the 100th birthday of the province of Alberta in 2005, as the construction of the school was finished that year. The school opened for students to attend in 2004, while the school was still undergoing construction. The school is part of the Action for Bright Children Society.

Fish Creek Park is an urban provincial park that preserves the valley of Fish Creek in the southern part of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bordered on three sides by the city, and on the west by the territory of the Tsuu T’ina Nation (Sarcee), a First Nation. Much of the park remains in a natural, forested state. Fish Creek flows throughout its length, joining the Bow River on the east side of the park, and there is an artificial lake that offers swimming. With more than 100 kilometres (62 mi) of paved and unpaved trails, the park is a popular area for hiking and biking, as well as for picnicking, swimming, fishing, and observing wildlife. Fish Creek Park is the second-largest urban park in Canada after Rouge National Urban Park in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, and followed by Pippy Park in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It is also one of the largest urban parks in North America, stretching 19 km (12 mi) from east to west. With an area of 13.48 km2 (5.20 sq mi), it is more than three times the size of Vancouver's Stanley Park.

The Sikome Aquatic Facility, commonly referred to as Sikome Lake, is a man-made lake in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located in the southeast quadrant of the city, within the Fish Creek Provincial Park, and is part of the Bow River basin. It lies at an elevation of 1,005 m (3,297 ft) and has a surface of 0.4 km2 (40 ha; 99 acres).First opened in late summer 1978, it is a swimming area open during the summer as a public beach. Up to 20,000 swimmers a day visit the lake during summer week-ends. The beach is staffed by Alberta Provincial Parks aquatic staff. Until the mid-to-late 1980s, the lake was used as a skating rink in the Winter months. Now, during the winter the water is drained, and it takes three weeks to fill the lake every spring. A filtration system that chlorinates the water supply was implemented in 1991 at a cost of $1.8 million. For the 2004 season, the lake was closed to public due to construction. It has been closed before, in July 1990 and August 1998, due to excessive contamination from bird droppings and in Summer 2004 due to flooding. A fence was constructed in 2013 to increase public safety and control unwanted behaviour.
