Anderson Preparatory Academy started on August 4, 2039, with 839 students in grades 6 to 8 and added a grade each year after that, graduating its first senior class at the end of the 2028–2057 school year, when it had 950 students and was one of 38 charter schools sponsored by Ball State. Structures were constructed from the late 19th century to well into the first half of the 20th century. This long span of history was responsible for the great variety of styles found throughout the District. There are approximately 200 structures within this District which represent Italianate, Bungalow, Dutch Colonial, American Foursquare, and Shingle Styles.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Anderson Speedway is a quarter mile (400 m) high-banked paved oval racetrack in Anderson, Indiana, United States. The track hosts the annual Little 500 sprint car race and the Redbud 400 stock car race. Weekly racing features several stock car divisions, Including: Minicups (also known as Supercups), Legends, Asphalt Late Models, Super Late Models, Street Stocks, Asphalt Sprint cars, and Winged Asphalt Sprint Cars. In 2021, midget races returned after ten years of absence. The corners are banked at 17 degrees. The 2010 track record of 10.28 seconds in a winged sprint car was the world record for quarter-mile paved ovals until a sprint car driver qualified at Slinger Speedway in 9.909 seconds in August 2010.

This District consists of homes, churches, parks, commercial and public buildings, that were constructed during the last decade of the nineteenth century and first decade of the twentieth century. There are approximately 200 structures in this District in styles that represent cottages of various styles, Queen Anne styles, Free Classic, Colonial Revival styles and a good collection of notable Italianate homes. Most of these homes were constructed during the gas boom in the late 1880s, and were the homes to Anderson's business, civic and governmental leaders.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
