Ponte Caffaro

The Caffaro is a 25 km river of northern Italy whose course lies within the Province of Brescia, sometimes forming the border with Trentino. It belongs to the basin of Lago d'Idro. Its source is on Cornone di Blumone, a peak in the Rhaetian Alps, near the Passo del Termine within the commune of Breno, in the Parco regionale dell'Adamello regional park. The river then runs through the Val di Caffaro entering the territory of Bagolino and flows into the Chiese just before the latter enters lago d'Idro at Ponte Caffaro. The Caffaro's principal affluents are the Riccomassimo, the Rio Frèi, the Dazare, the Bruffione, the Lajone, the Sanguinera, the Vaia, the Dasdanè, the Racigande, the Berga and the Leprazzo. The river provides a significant source for the production of hydropower.

Bondone (Bondù, /bon'du/ in local dialect) is a comune located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southwest of Trento in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, on the border with Lombardy. It is As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 693 and an area of 19.2 square kilometres (7.4 sq mi) divided approximately equally between the capoluogo and the frazione Baitoni which lies on the shores of Lake Idro. The territory of the commune rises from an elevation of 368 metres (1,207 ft) at the lakeside to a maximum of 1,946 metres (6,385 ft). The Castello di San Giovanni, offers panoramic views of the lake, and of the valley of the Chiese, with the Dolomites of Brenta visible in the distance. Bondone is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").

Mount Cingolo Rosso is a mountain in the Brescia and Garda Prealps belonging to the Caplone-Tombea group, a subgroup of Mount Stino, and reaches an altitude of 1,102 metres.

Lake Idro (Italian: Lago d'Idro, also Eridio from Latin: Eridius lacus, Lombard: Lac d'Ider, German: Idrosee) is an Italian prealpine lake of glacial origin situated largely within the Province of Brescia (Lombardy) and in part in Trentino. At 368 m above sea level it is the highest of the Lombard prealpine lakes. The lake is fed principally by the waters of the river Chiese; that river is also its only emissary. It has a surface area of 11.4 km2 and a maximum depth of 122 m. The lake is surrounded by wooded mountains. The shoreline of some 24 km is shared across four communes: Idro (the frazioni Crone and Lemprato), from which the lake takes its name, Anfo, Bagolino (fraz. Ponte Caffaro) and Bondone (fraz. Baitoni). Lake Idro currently faces severe problems of eutrophication resulting from the absence of adequate sewerage systems and the use of its feed-waters for irrigation and the generation of hydropower: it has become a site of conflict between environmental, agricultural and electricity industry interests. The name derives from a legendary monster (Idra) who supposedly lived there

The Ladinian was preceded by the Anisian and succeeded by the Carnian (part of the Upper or Late Triassic). The Ladinian is coeval with the Falangian regional stage used in China.

Rocca d'Anfo (English: Rock of Anfo or Fort Anfo) is an historic military fortification in Anfo (now in Brescia, northern Italy) adjacent to Lake Idro. It was first built by the Venetian Republic in the 15th century on the eastern slope of Mount Censo in the Brescia and Garda Prealps. The stronghold was later expanded under Napoleon in the early 1800s.

Bagolino (Brescian: Bagulì) is a comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, Italy, in the valley of the river Caffaro, on the right side of Valle Sabbia. Bagolino is known for the cheese named Bagòss and the carnival. Similar to grana padano, Bagòss is a salty cheese with traces of natural mold at times. The village retains its medieval appearance, with abutting historical buildings and winding streets, arcades, squares, fountains, and narrow stairs that go up to the church of St. George. The frazione Ponte Caffaro lies on the shore of Lake Idro.

The Re di Anfo is a stream (or torrente) in the Province of Brescia, Lombardy. Its source is on Cima Meghè and it flows into Lago d'Idro at Anfo on the western side of the lake. Its entire course is contained within the territory of the Commune of Anfo. A short stretch of the river is suitable for the sport of canyoning.

Anfo (Brescian: Anf; Latin: Damphus) is a comune in the province of Brescia in northern Italy, roughly halfway between Milan and Venice. It is in the Lombardy region near Lake Idro and is bounded by other communes of Bagolino and Collio.
