The Woodstock Square Historic District is located in the county seat of McHenry County, Illinois, which is Woodstock. The district is located in downtown Woodstock and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. Within the district two of Woodstock's other Registered Places can be found, Woodstock Opera House and the Old McHenry County Courthouse.

The Old McHenry County Courthouse, in McHenry County, Illinois, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1974. Once the courthouse in the county seat of McHenry County, Woodstock, today the courthouse is occupied by various private tenants including a restaurant and an art gallery. It is one of the key structures in the Woodstock Square Historic District.

Woodstock is a commuter railroad station on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line located in Woodstock, Illinois. The station is located on the Harvard branch of the Northwest Line and is the last stop before Harvard; inbound trains run as far as Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. The station is located in fare zone 4. Woodstock is 51.7 miles (83.2 km) from Chicago via Metra. The station consists of two grade-level side platforms which serve two tracks; there is a rail crossover located just north of the station. As of 2018, Woodstock is the 149th busiest of the 236 non-downtown stations on the Metra system, with an average of 273 weekday boardings.As of May 30, 2023, Woodstock is served by 27 trains (14 inbound, 13 outbound) on weekdays, by 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by 15 trains (seven inbound, eight outbound) on Sundays. At the present time, there is no ticket agent at the Woodstock station. Passengers boarding at Woodstock may buy one-way or weekend pass tickets from the Conductor for cash, or purchase an electronic ticket with Ventra. Purchases of other types of tickets or purchases using other payment methods must be done at a station with a ticket agent. The closest station with a ticket agent is Crystal Lake.

Woodstock High School is a public high school located in Woodstock, Illinois, a part of Woodstock Community Unit School District 200. Established in 1921, it has an enrollment of approximately 1,050 students.

Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital (formerly Centegra Hospital - Woodstock) is a hospital in Woodstock, Illinois. The hospital is a division of Northwestern Medicine since 2018 when Northwestern Medicine partnered with Centegra Health System.

The Woodstock Opera House is a historical venue for performing arts and receptions located in Woodstock, Illinois. It was built in 1889 and designed as a multi-use facility with space for city administration offices as well as police and fire departments. The building was planned by architect Smith Hoag and built by contractor Simon Brink for a cost of $25,000. Today, the City of Woodstock still owns the building, but the building is used exclusively as a performance space. In 2013, the stage was dedicated to Orson Welles, who grew up in Woodstock and performed at the venue during his formative years.

The Woodstock Mozart Festival was a summer music festival in Woodstock, Illinois that presented classical music concerts, primarily of Mozart's music, by the Woodstock Mozart Festival Orchestra and guest artists.

Marian Central Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Woodstock, Illinois, United States.[1] It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockford.

Woodstock North High School is a public high school located in Woodstock, Illinois, United States. It is a part of Woodstock Community Unit School District 200. Opened in 2008, it is located forty minutes south of Wisconsin and one hour northwest of Chicago. It has an enrollment of approximately 950 students.

Dorr Township is located in McHenry County, Illinois. As of the 2020 census, its population was 21,752 and it contained 8,929 housing units. Dorr Township changed its name from Centre Township on December 28, 1850.
