The DS Automobiles Italian Open (Italian: Open d'Italia) is the men's national open golf championship of Italy. It was founded in 1925 and, except for 1933 and during World War II, was played annually until 1960. After an eleven-year hiatus, it returned in 1971 when it was one of five tournaments in Continental Europe that were included on the British PGA Order of Merit circuit. The following year of that circuit has since been recognised as the first official season of the European Tour, and the Italian Open is one of few tournaments that have featured on the schedule every year. The 2018 event was the 75th edition of the championship. In 2017 the European Tour created the Rolex Series, a group of events with higher prize money, with the Italian Open being one of the designated events with total prize money increased to US$7 million, more than double that of the previous year. In 2020 the tournament was not part of the Rolex Series, having been rescheduled with much lower prize money due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Peschiera del Garda (Italian pronunciation: [peˈskjɛːra del ˈɡarda]; Venetian: Pischera; Latin: Ardelica, Arilica) is a town and comune in the province of Verona, in Veneto, Italy. When Lombardy-Venetia was under Austrian rule, Peschiera was the northwest anchor of the four fortified towns constituting the Quadrilatero. The fortress is on an island in the river Mincio at its outlet from Lake Garda. The town is encircled by massive Venetian defensive systems that have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 9 July 2017.

Peschiera del Garda railway station (Italian: Stazione di Peschiera del Garda) serves the town and comune of Peschiera del Garda, in the region of Veneto, northern Italy. Opened in 1854, it forms part of the Milan–Venice railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. The train services are operated by Trenitalia and Trenord.

The Battle of Volta Mantovana of 1848 was an engagement during the First Italian War of Independence fought throughout Volta Mantovana on 26 and 27 July 1848 between the Second Austrian army corps of General Konstantin D'Aspré and the 3d Piedmontese division of general Ettore De Sonnaz. The Battle of Volta Mantovana was fought on the 15th of October 1080 between troops raised by the schismatic bishops of Lombardy loyal to the emperor Henry IV and to anti-pope Guibert of Ravenna against forces commanded by Matilda of Tuscany. Margravine Matilda was defeated and the pro-Imperial forces gained the upper hand.

Shaman is a steel roller coaster located at Gardaland, Castelnuovo del Garda near Verona, Italy. Manufactured by Vekoma, the roller coaster originally opened as Magic Mountain, featuring Arrow Dynamics trains, which were replaced with newer Vekoma trains in 2008. A VR experience and additional new theming was added to the ride in 2017, and it was renamed Shaman. The VR was removed the following year. In November 2020, Gardaland began removing parts of the track. It was replaced with new track pieces, similar to what was done on Python at Efteling, to improve the smoothness of the ride experience. The supports & other theming items were also repainted to improve the theming of the area.

Sequoia Magic Loop was an S&S - Sansei Technologies inverted Screaming Squirrel steel roller coaster located in Gardaland, Italy. The ride opened in 2005 with the name Sequoia Adventure. Riders spent a considerable time inverted, with 3 'saxophone' inversions where the cars turned 180 degrees onto a flat inverted section of track. The ride closed in June 2017 because of mechanical issues and was scheduled to reopen in 2018. The technical problems however were very hard to solve. The ride remained closed for the 2018 season. However, in November 2018, it was confirmed by Gardaland that the ride would reopen in 2019 with a magic theme and a new name, Sequoia Magic Loop. The ride closed again in 2021 due to unclear reasons. In December 2022, the park filed for an application/permit to remove the ride. In January 2023, the ride was removed from Gardaland after standing but not operating for the 2022 season.

The Scaligero Castle is a fortress from the Scaliger era, access point to the historical centre of Sirmione, on Lake Garda. It's one of Italy's best preserved castles. In 2019 it was the 22nd most visited attraction in Italy, with 308,459 visitors.

Sirmione (Brescian: Sirmiù; Venetian: Sirmion) is a comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy (northern Italy). It is bounded by Desenzano del Garda (Lombardy) and Peschiera del Garda in the province of Verona and the region of Veneto. It has a historical centre which is located on the Sirmio peninsula that divides the lower part of Lake Garda.
