Otto Township is one of seventeen townships in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,582 and it contained 937 housing units. It was formed from portions of Aroma and Limestone townships on December 11, 1855 as Carthage Township; its name was changed to Otto Township on March 11, 1857.

Sammons Point is a village in Otto Township in south-central Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. Initially incorporated as a village on March 21, 2006, it was disincorporated on August 8, 2007, and incorporated again on February 5, 2008. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 279.The village is part of the Kankakee–Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Kankakee County.

The town is set up in a rectangular grid. Although Sugar Island is located in Kankakee County, it is on the border of Iroquois County.

Greater Kankakee Airport (IATA: IKK, ICAO: KIKK, FAA LID: IKK) is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) south of the central business district of Kankakee, a city in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.The airport was opened in 1962 and continues to operate as a general aviation facility serving the Kankakee area and South Chicago. It is 60 miles (97 km) south of Chicago and 75 miles (121 km) north of Champaign, Illinois. It is the largest airport between the Chicago Midway Airport and the Champaign Airport. Greater Kankakee is a general aviation airport, consisting of mostly private aircraft with a mix of corporate and business aircraft usage. The airport is owned and operated by the Kankakee Valley Airport Authority. The authority has an appointed board of directors totaling six members: three members from the Kankakee County Board and one each from the communities of Kankakee, Bradley, and Bourbonnais. The airport received $1.6 million from the State of Illinois as part of the Rebuild Illinois program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airport planned to upgrade the airport's north–south runway and relocate one of the main taxiway ramps. Talks to upgrade these facilities had already been in the works for years as the airport aims to be able to accept larger aircraft on a more frequent basis by adding width and runway strength. Upgrades are expected to be completed in 2023.

Kankakee Community College (KCC) is a public community college in Kankakee, Illinois. The main campus is located on the southern border of the city of Kankakee and spans 178 acres (0.72 km2) along the banks of the Kankakee River. KCC is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges. The college was founded in 1966. Its president is Michael Boyd. The college offered its first classes in September 1968. Since that date, it has served as an educational, vocational, and recreational center for residents of Community College District 520, an area encompassing all or part of Kankakee, Iroquois, Ford, Grundy, Livingston, and Will counties. The school serves a population of approximately 150,000.

The Hunter–Hattenburg House is a historic Queen Anne-style house in Kankakee, Illinois, United States. It was built for William R. Hunter, a prominent lawyer in Kankakee who had previously served as Kankakee City Attorney and would later serve on the 12th Illinois Circuit Court. In 1942, the house was purchased by Kankakee mayor Albert F. Hattenburg.
