Saint-Gervais-les-Bains

The Thermes de Saint Gervais Mont-Blanc is a spa organized around thermal springs, located in the valley of the Arve, in the hamlet of Fayet, in the municipality of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie.

Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet station (French: Gare de Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet) is a railway station serving the town Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie department, southeastern France. It is the southeastern terminus of the standard gauge La Roche-sur-Foron–Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet line from La Roche-sur-Foron, the southwestern terminus of the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine line from the Swiss border, and the western terminus of the Mont Blanc Tramway. It is the southeastern terminus of the L3 line of the Léman Express, a suburban rail network for the Grand Genève, which began operation in 2019. The station is the base for maintenance equipment including a snow plough for the Mont Blanc Express.

The canton of Le Mont-Blanc (French: Canton du Mont-Blanc) is an administrative division of the Haute-Savoie department, Southeastern France. It elects two members of the Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie, known as departmental councillors (conseillers départementaux). It was created at the 2014 cantonal reorganisation process, which came into effect for the 2015 departmental election. Passy (French pronunciation: [pasi] ) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It is part of the urban area of Sallanches.Located there is the Sancellemoz sanatorium, where Professor Marie Curie died in 1934. Lac Vert is located in the commune. The commune has a railway station, Chedde, on the Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine line.

Plateau d'Assy (French pronunciation: [plato dasi]) is a region in the French Alps, in Haute-Savoie department, France, near the border of Italy. The plateau is at an altitude of 3,450 feet (1,050 metres) in the foothills of Mont Blanc. Primarily an agricultural district, the plateau is also a winter sports area. The village of Passy is located here. The plateau, situated below the Fiz mountain range, is popular with paragliders and hang-gliders, and hosts the largest paragliding school in France. In the 1950s the plateau was serviced by a cable car from Chedde, but this no longer exists. A notable feature of the area is the modern church of Notre Dame de Toute Grace, begun in 1937 and consecrated in 1950. It was designed by the architect Maurice Novarina, and the artists who contributed to its decoration, include Fernand Léger, Jean Lurçat, Germaine Richier, Marc Chagall, Jacques Lipchitz, and Georges Rouault. The church was built through the efforts of Father Marie-Alain Couturier, a Dominican priest, who sought to revitalize church architecture through the contributions of the best contemporary artists regardless of their faith. It was also host to a sanatorium for TB victims, and still hosts a hospital for the mentally infirm. In 1970, 74 people died including 56 children when a blanket of snow buried a sanatorium at the Plateau d'Assy.

Sancellemoz is a sanatorium in the town of Passy, in Haute-Savoie, eastern France. Professor Marie Curie died in the sanatorium Sancellemoz.

The church of Notre-Dame de Toute Grâce du Plateau d'Assy (Our Lady Full of Grace of the Plateau d'Assy) is a Roman Catholic church in France, constructed on the plateau d'Assy between 1937 and 1946. It faces Mont Blanc, and is within the territory of the commune of Passy, in the Haute-Savoie department. Constructed at the urging of canon Jean Devémy and designed by the Savoyard architect Maurice Novarina, the church is celebrated for its decoration, contributed by some of the best-known artists of the twentieth century. It is also viewed as an important landmark in the development of modern sacred art; its consecration in 1950 caused much consternation within the ranks of the clergy of France, who had hitherto been accustomed to more traditionally classical structures. On June 11, 2004, Notre-Dame de Toute Grâce du Plateau d'Assy was classed as a monument historique de France.

Mont d'Arbois is a mountain of Haute-Savoie, France. It lies in the Beaufortain Massif range, at an altitude of 1833 metres above sea level.

Servoz (Franco-Provençal pronunciation: [ˈsɛr.vo]) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Servoz has a railway station on the Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine railway and the section between Les Houches and Servoz holds the world record gradient for an adhesion railway at a 9% gradient over a distance of 2,000 m (6,562 ft).
