Welwyn Garden City railway station serves the town of Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, England. It is 20 miles 25 chains (20.31 miles, 32.69 km) from London King's Cross on the East Coast Main Line. Train services are currently provided by Thameslink and Great Northern.

The Nabisco Shredded Wheat Factory is a disused factory which formerly produced variants of the shredded wheat breakfast cereal in Welwyn Garden City, in the United Kingdom. It was designed by architect Louis de Soissons to encourage companies to establish factories in the industrial areas of garden cities. The design of the Welwyn Garden City factory was inspired by an existing one in Niagara Falls, USA, also operated by the Shredded Wheat Company of America. Two buildings were operational at the time of its opening: a southern grain silo complex of 18 silos, and a western three–storey production area. Further expansions to the factory took place in the 1930s and 1950s with the construction of 27 additional silos, a new production area, and office space. The factory is considered a local landmark, with its image used heavily in marketing for Shredded Wheat to portray the cereal as healthier and more hygienic than alternatives. Some buildings on the site were granted Grade II heritage status by the Department of the Environment on 16 January 1981. Since closing in 2008, there have been proposals to redevelop the factory as a brownfield site for residential and commercial purposes. Parts of the factory have been demolished in preparation for anticipated construction work, including the newer 1930s silos.

Templewood Primary School is a primary school in Pentley Park, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. It is one of a number of modernist schools commissioned by the Hertfordshire County Council in the 20th century and is a Grade II* listed building.

The Barn Theatre, located in Welwyn Garden City, England is a Grade II listed, 17th-century timber-framed barn converted to a community theatre in 1931. It is owned by The Barn Theatre Trust and used by a local amateur theatre company, The Barn Theatre Club. It has two performance spaces: a main auditorium and a studio.

Stanborough Reedmarsh is a 3.3 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire. It is owned by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.The site is wet willow woodland on the bank of the River Lea. It is important for water voles and birds such as reed and sedge warblers. Water figwort, common meadow rue and water chickweed grow along the river bank.There is access to the site from Stanborough Road through Stanborough Park.

Sherrardspark Wood (grid reference TL230139) is a 74.9 hectare (185.1 acre) biological site of Special Scientific Interest in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The site was notified in 1986 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.It is located to the north west of Welwyn Garden City and is an ancient woodland consisting mainly of Sessile oak and Hornbeam. It is used by dog walkers, joggers, cyclists, and horse riders. The area was designated by English Nature a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1986 as well as a Local Nature Reserve in 1998. The Sherrardspark Wood Wardens' Society assists with the maintenance of the wood. There are a number of walks through the wood, one of which follows the disused Luton/Dunstable branch line from Welwyn Garden City railway station. This line closed in the 1970s and runs from the White Bridge on Digswell Road west and then north to the Great North Road next to the A1(M) motorway, close to the Red Lion pub. The trail continues from Ayot St Peter on the other side of the motorway along Ayot Greenway.

Digswell House is a Grade II listed Mansion in Hertfordshire, erected c. 1805–07 by Samuel Wyatt for the Honourable Edward Spencer Cowper, who lived there for some years. It was built in the parish of Digswell from which it takes its name, but was transferred to Welwyn Garden City in 1921. The house is now in the Knightsfield area of Welwyn Garden City. The current house was erected a little eastward of the site on which its predecessor had stood and was built as a commodious country gentleman's home, in an architectural style that can best be described as neoclassical. A portico, with four massive Ionic columns, on the south front is its most impressive external feature.

Stanborough School is a secondary academy school located in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. Like most secondary schools, it has a sixth form. It is situated off Stanborough Road (A6129), near the A1(M), and across the road from the headquarters of Hertfordshire Constabulary, a golf driving range and the Gosling Sports Park (with an athletics track and ski slope). The East Coast Main Line is about 1 km away.

Digswell Park is a cricket ground in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1866 between The Node and Southgate. In 2000, the ground hosted its only Minor Counties Championship match to date, which was between Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. In 2003, the ground hosted 2 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. Hertfordshire resumed their usage of Digswell Park and have to date played 4 further MCCA Knockout Trophy matches on the ground.The ground has played host to 3 List-A matches, the first of which came in the 2000 NatWest Trophy between Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, with the second List-A match coming in the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy between Hertfordshire and the Durham Cricket Board. The third and final List-A match played on the ground was between Hertfordshire and Staffordshire in the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.In local domestic cricket, Digswell Park is the home ground of Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club who play in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League.
