1100 Wilshire is a 37-story, 151.18 m (496.0 ft) residential and commercial skyscraper completed in 1987 in Los Angeles, California. It is the 24th tallest building in the city, the 2nd tallest residential building in the entire Southern California region, and the 4th tallest residential building in the state of California. The 35,262 m2 (379,560 sq ft) tower was designed by AC Martin Partners. The bottom 16 floors are primarily parking, with commercial space on the ground floor/street level. 1100 Wilshire was unsuccessful as an office building and sat nearly vacant for almost two decades. It was purchased by Hampton Development, TMG Partners and Forest City Residential for $40 million, and from 2005 to 2006 the property was converted to owner-occupied residential condominiums with 228 units. In 2014, the building was used for a promotional stunt by GreatCall. In the ad, John Walsh, the company's spokesman at the time, jumps off the building and parachutes safely to the street, explaining the abilities of the 5Star Medical Alert System as he falls.

The Quality Cafe (also known as Quality Diner) is a now-defunct diner at 1236 West 7th Street in Los Angeles, California. The restaurant ceased to function as a diner in late 2006 but has appeared as a location featured in a number of Hollywood films, including Million Dollar Baby, Training Day, Old School, Se7en, Ghost World, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Stepfather, What's Love Got to Do with It, Sex and Death 101, and Catch Me If You Can. It was also featured in Season 1 of the 2007 television series Mad Men, in the episode "5G". It was completely refurbished in 2014 and transformed into a bar of the Teragram Ballroom, a music theatre.

Wilmington Branch is a branch library of the Los Angeles Public Library located in the Wilmington section of Los Angeles, California. It was built in 1927 based on a Spanish Colonial Revival design by architect W.E. McAllister. In 1987, the Wilmington Branch and several other branch libraries in Los Angeles were added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of a thematic group submission. The application noted that the branch libraries had been constructed in a variety of period revival styles to house the initial branch library system of the City of Los Angeles. A new building, on Avalon Boulevard and M Street, was constructed in 1988 and is the current home of the Wilmington Branch Library.

The Mayfair Hotel is a historic hotel in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The Sun Realty Company commissioned the building in 1926 and architectural firm Curlett & Beelman designed it in the Renaissance Revival style. The hotel opened on February 1, 1927.

ARCO Tower (currently known as 1055 West Seventh) is a high-rise office building located at 1055 West Seventh Street in Los Angeles, California. It has 33 stories and stands at a height of 141 m (463 ft), making it the 32nd tallest building in Los Angeles, and the second tallest in Westlake. It has a prominent position in the local skyline, as it is across the 110 (Harbor) Freeway from the majority of the skyscrapers in downtown Los Angeles and the only other nearby building taller than it is 1100 Wilshire. The building has a floor area of 205,054m² and was designed by Gin Wong Associates. Construction of the building began in 1988 and was completed in 1989. The building was one of three ARCO Towers within blocks of each other in Los Angeles when constructed. It changed its name to 1055 West Seventh in 1998 due to ARCO relocating. In 2013, Healthcare provider LA Care now has its headquarters in the building.

Los Angeles Center Studios, located in the Westlake District of Los Angeles, California, is a multipurpose facility in the former Unocal Center building (opened as Union Oil Center in April 1958) next to the 110 Freeway. Architect William Pereira designed what was the headquarters of Union Oil Company of California. The studio itself was opened in 1999, three years after Union Oil Company of California vacated the premises. The complex now includes six film production sound stages and areas available as theatres or for events. It is located near W. 6th Street and Beaudry Avenue; the main gate's address is 450 South Bixel Street. Most film and TV production facilities in the Los Angeles region are located either in suburbs of the city (such as Hollywood itself) or adjacent cities like Burbank and Culver City; Los Angeles Center Studios is one of the only facilities actually located near downtown L.A. The Los Angeles Center Studios is where many films and shows have been filmed. The office building has played roles in several movies and TV shows: in Cold Case, as the Philadelphia Police Department; in Numb3rs as the Los Angeles FBI field office; in TNT's Legends it houses the FBI's "Deep Cover Operations" (DCO) unit; and in Life as the "Bank of Los Angeles" (with that title on the south face of the tower in huge letters). It is also the external facade of the hospital in the movie Constantine.

The Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts, founded in 1915 by Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn in Los Angeles, California, helped many perfect their dancing talents and became the first dance academy in the United States to produce a professional dance company. Some of the school's more notable pupils include Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Lillian Powell, Charles Weidman, Jack Cole, and silent film star Louise Brooks. The school was especially renowned for its influence on ballet and experimental modern dance. In time, Denishawn teachings reached another school location as well - Studio 61 at the Carnegie Hall Studios.

Studio School Los Angeles was a performing arts and film school located in downtown Los Angeles. The school was founded in 2013 by Glenn Kalison, American actor, producer and entrepreneur, as Relativity School with the former film studio, Relativity Media. The name was changed to Studio School in 2017 following Relativity Media's bankruptcy. Hussian College Los Angeles initially launched its accredited BFA programs in October 2014, as a branch campus of Philadelphia's Hussian School of Art, and did so in affiliation with a major film studio. Recently, the Studio School Los Angeles name was changed to Hussain College Los Angeles (HCLA), and later to Hussain College - In Studio, its current name. The school graduated its inaugural class in Spring 2018 in a commencement ceremony that took place at historic Mack Sennett Studios. Ikumi Yoshimatsu, Japanese actress and social activist, and Lance Young, former DreamWorks Animation head of Creative Affairs gave the commencement addresses. By May, 2023, the college permanently closed after the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges warned it of concerns about student achievement. An instructor who had been hired in 2022 had been warned that enrollment had been falling.

Global Cinematography Institute (GCI) is a film school that teaches new emerging technologies and concepts in the field of cinematography. Founded by Yuri Neyman, ASC and Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC, the Global Cinematography Institute aims to prepare filmmakers to take advantage of on-going advances in digital and virtual cinematography technologies through a curriculum known as Expanded Cinematography.In 2021, GCI announced that they were deferring all sessions and stopped taking student applications, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Los Angeles School of Global Studies (LASGS) is a high school located within the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex. LASGS opened in the fall of 2006 with only Freshman and Sophomore classes as one of four New Technology High Schools in the Los Angeles area. In the 2008–2009 school-year they reached their target and current capacity of 360 students in their first year with all four grade levels. New Tech Network schools promote the use of project-based learning and the team-teaching of courses. LASGS in particular has made a concerted effort to integrate those team-taught courses. Most notably all Humanities courses are taught in this model and although there are still come modifications being made to the Math and Science pairings, they are also team-taught and integrated at a far higher level than most other schools in the network. The GeoDesign course that is currently taught by Dina Mahmood, Geometry teacher, and David Brown, Design Media instructor, is another integrated, co-taught course offered to all students at LA Global Studies.

Young's Market Company Building built in 1924 is a historic building located at 1610 West 7th Street, corner South Union Avenue, in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was originally a retail market and office building, designed by architect Charles F. Plummer. The Spanish Renaissance Revival style building features marble columns and a terra-cotta frieze. In 1958, Young's moved to a headquarters building on Central Avenue. It has been renovated into 44 live-work lofts in 1997. The original architect was Charles F. Plummer. The Young's Market Company Building commercial block is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. On June 15, 2004, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Mary Andrews Clark Memorial Home is a four-story, 76,000-square-foot (7,100 m2) "French Revival Chateauesque" brick structure in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles near downtown. It was built in 1913 as a YWCA home for young working women. The house was built by William A. Clark (1839–1925), the copper magnate after whom Clark County, Nevada, was named, as a memorial to his mother Mary Andrews Clark (1814–1904). The home was operated by the YWCA from 1913 to 1987, when it was closed as a result of damage sustained in the Whittier Narrows earthquake. The building reopened in 1995 as housing for low income single workers. The building has been designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
