Annandale, Dumfries and Galloway

Brydekirk (Scottish Gaelic: Eaglais Bhride) is a village in Annandale in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland located approximately 4 km north of Annan. The village was a planned the concept of the Paisley-Dirom family of Mount Annan, set around a bridge over the River Annan. Construction began in around 1822.

Galabank is a football stadium in the town of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is the home ground of Scottish Professional Football League club Annan Athletic, who have played there since 1953. The ground has been shared by non-League teams Mid-Annandale (2012–2014) and Edusport Academy (2015–2019).

Newbie Junction Halt railway station was a railway station in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, located just west of Annan on the old Glasgow and South Western Railway main line that briefly served workers employed 0.5 mile or circa 800 metres away at the Cochran & Co. Boiler factory and the Newbie Brick and Tile Works at Newbie. The Newbie Siding branched off near the halt and was accessed from the west.

Annan Castle, was a castle that was located on the banks of the River Annan, in Annan, Scotland.A motte and bailey castle was built in the early 12th century by the de Brus family, Lords of Annandale. A flood in the mid-12th century changed the course of the River Annan, which caused the castle mound to be partially eroded. The castle was abandoned as the main seat of the de Brus family, who moved to Lochmaben Castle. In February 1552 a master mason David Dog was sent by Regent Arran to hire stonemasons to work "at the tour of Annand".The site of the castle is designated a scheduled ancient monument.

Annan Town Hall is a municipal building in the High Street in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The structure, which accommodates the local library and is also used as a venue for the provision of local services, is a Category B listed building.

The Newbie Branch, Newbie Siding or Cochran & Cos Siding was a freight or mineral branch in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, located just west of Annan off the old Glasgow and South Western Railway main line. Annan ( AN-ən; Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Anainn) is a town and former royal burgh in Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland. Historically part of Dumfriesshire, its public buildings include Annan Academy, of which the writer Thomas Carlyle was a pupil, and a Georgian building now known as "Bridge House". Each year on the first Saturday in July, Annan celebrates the Royal Charter and the boundaries of the Royal Burgh are confirmed when a mounted cavalcade undertakes the Riding of the Marches. Entertainment includes a procession, sports, field displays and massed pipe bands. Annan's in America first migrated to New York and Virginia. Annandale Virginia is an early settlement which celebrates The Scottish Games annually.

Annan is a railway station on the Glasgow South Western Line, which runs between Carlisle and Glasgow Central via Kilmarnock. The station, situated 17 miles 51 chains (28 km) north-west of Carlisle, serves the town of Annan in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by ScotRail. Shortly after leaving the station, heading west towards Dumfries, the line crosses a viaduct over the River Annan and adjoining flood plains. Also, situated just to the west of the station, is a disused junction and former alignment of a line which used to head south to the Cochran's Boiler Plant at Newbie.

Newbie is a populated place in Annandale South, near Annan. It is home to a pharmaceutics plant belonging to Phoenix Chemicals of Liverpool.The Annandale Way Great Trail has a trailhead at Newbie Barns, a small collection of dwellings in Newbie.

Annan Shawhill was a station on the Solway Junction Railway at Annan in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The branch line ran between a junction with the Caledonian Railway Main Line at Kirtlebridge, across the Glasgow South Western Line, over the Solway Viaduct into Cumberland, England. The station opened for passenger services in 1870. Passenger services were withdrawn in the early 1930s when the cost of maintaining the Solway Viaduct was deemed too high to sustain. Although the line to England was removed, the Scottish part of the branch to Annan Shawhill remained opened for freight until it was finally closed in the 1950s.
