Nadezhda (Bulgarian: Надежда [nɐˈdɛʒdɐ], lit. 'hope') is a district located it the north-western parts of Sofia with an area of 19.300 sq. km. As of 2011 it has 67,905 inhabitants. It includes nine neighbourhoods: "Nadezhda" I, II, III and IV; "Tolstoy"; "Svoboda"; "Triagalnika"; "Iliyantsi" and "Trebich".In 1906 there were only a few houses in the area where the road from Sofia to Lom passed through the fertile fields. Nadezhda received a neighbourhood status in 1924 and from September 1934 it became a centre of a municipality which included several villages. It derived its name from Tsar Boris III's youngest sister, Nadezhda. There are many manufacturing plants. The main industrial activities are machinery, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical (Sopharma plant), furniture and others. Nadezhda has two churches and a monastery. There are 13 schools, 13 kindergartens, 6 chitalishta. The name "Nadezhda" is symbolic in that it is also the name of one of the three daughters of the city's patron saint - Saint Sophia (the three daughters were called Faith, Hope and Love).

Vrabnitsa (Bulgarian: Връбница [ˈvrɤbnit͡sɐ]) is a district of Sofia, located in the western part of the Sofia municipality. It has a population of 47,417. It consists of the following neighbourhoods – Moderno Predgradie (meaning Modern Suburb) (Модерно Предградие), Vrabnitsa (Връбница) & Obelya (Обеля).

Knyaginya Maria Luiza Metro Station (Bulgarian: Метростанция „Княгиня Мария Луиза“) is the 21st station to open on the Sofia Metro in Bulgaria. It is situated near the Nadezhda road junction in the northern part of Sofia, at the intersection of Maria Luiza Boulevard and Gen. Stoletov Blvd. It opened on 31 August 2012 and is also known as the fifth station on the M2 line of the metro (station 5-II). It was also the first station on the path of the TBM, which worked on the section between stations 5-II and 9-II (part of phase I of the metro extension project), entirely constructed by the Turkish company Doğuş Construction, part of Doğuş Holding. The station is a shallow triple-span station with two rows of concrete and steel columns. It serves two central tracks and two side platforms. There are four street entrances, two on each side of the boulevard after which the station is named. They lead to a central vestibule, directly above the station.

Vazrazhdane (Bulgarian: Възраждане [vɐzˈraʒdɐnɛ]) is a district in the centre of Sofia. As of 2012 it has 49,158 inhabitants. The district's area is 3.16 km2 (1 sq mi) or 2,5% of the total capital area. It has several neighbourhoods: the Zones B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B-18 and B-19 as well as Serdika. The territory of the regions is divided as follows: residential zone- 1.21 km2 (0 sq mi); parks, gardens and green zones- 1.36 km2 (1 sq mi); industrial zone- 0.15 km2 (0 sq mi); public zones including roads, squares and infrastructure- 0.43 km2 (0 sq mi). There 17 elementary and high schools with 8,000 pupils; 7 kindergartens; 6 libraries. The district boasts three churches, the National Polytechnical Museum and several monuments. The economy is very dynamic and is based on services, finance, government and industry. There are several hundred trade shops including the Mall of Sofia, several banks as well as government departments and ministries. The industrial sector contains non-polluting food-processing and shoe factories. The current unemployment is 5,3%.
