Venice, Florida

The Diocese of Venice in Florida (Latin: Dioecesis Venetiae in Florida) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in southwest Florida in the United States. It was founded on June 16, 1984. As Bishop John Nevins resigned for reasons of age on January 19, 2007, he was succeeded by Bishop Frank Dewane. The Diocese of Venice in Florida is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Miami.

The Edgewood Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on December 18, 1989) located in Venice, Florida. The district is bounded by School Street, Myrtle Avenue, Venice-By-Way, and Groveland Avenue. It contains 36 historic buildings.

The Venice Seaboard Air Line Railway Station (also known as the Venice Depot) is a historic former Seaboard Air Line Railroad depot located at 303 East Venice Avenue in Venice, Florida. It is the southern trailhead of the Legacy Trail, which runs along the railroad's former right of way. It currently serves as a hub for bus service operated by Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT). On August 17, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Venice High School is a secondary school located in Venice, Florida which educates students in grades 9–12.

The John Nolen Plan of Venice Historic District is a U.S. historic district located on the west coast of Venice, Florida. The district, planned by John Nolen in 1926 for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, is bounded by Laguna Drive on north, Home Park Road on east, the Corso on south, and The Esplanade on west. The district encompasses many other properties and historic districts already listed on the National Register of Historic Places including: Armada Road Multi-Family District Blalock House Hotel Venice Johnson-Schoolcrafy Building Levillain-Letton House Triangle Inn Valencia Hotel and Arcade Venice Depot Venezia Park Historic District Edgewood Historic DistrictIt was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 23, 2009.

The Venetian Waterway Park is a 9.3-mile (15.0 km) concrete trail in Sarasota County, Florida located in Venice. It was a public–private partnership between Venice Area Beautification Inc. (VABI), Sarasota County, and the city of Venice. It consists of two trails paralleling the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) from Downtown Venice to the Gulf of Mexico, with one on the island side of the waterway, and one on the mainland side. The two portions are connected by the Venice Avenue Bridge and the Circus Bridge.

The House at 710 Armada Road South, also known as the Senator Copeland House, is a historic home in Venice, Florida. The home is located at 710 Armada Road South. On August 17, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Valencia Hotel and Arcade (also known as the El Verano Hotel or El Patio Hotel) is a historic hotel in Venice, Florida. It is located at 229 West Venice Avenue. On November 10, 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
