Fort Widley

The Queen Alexandra Hospital (commonly known as QA Hospital, QAH or simply QA) is a large NHS hospital in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Located in Cosham, it is run by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and has a Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit attached.

Wymering is a residential area of the city of Portsmouth in the English county of Hampshire. Unlike the majority of Portsmouth, it is located on the mainland rather than Portsea Island. Wymering was one of the estates held by Hampshire's biggest landowner Edward the Confessor immediately before the Norman conquest. Wymering is mentioned in the Domesday Book and was a small village in rural area until it was incorporated into Portsmouth in 1920. On incorporation into Portsmouth a 300-house council housing estate was built there, being completed by 1929.In addition to the mediaeval church, one building that did remain is Wymering Manor. The manor is the oldest building in Portsmouth. It has been a Youth Hostel in its past but is now unoccupied and is reputed to be haunted.

Cosham ( or ) is a northern suburb of Portsmouth lying within the city boundary but off Portsea Island. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 along with Drayton and Wymering (mainland) and Bocheland (Buckland), Frodington (Fratton) and Copenore (Copnor) on the island.

Cosham railway station serves Cosham, a northern suburb of the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire in southern England. It is 90 miles 6 chains (90.08 miles, 144.96 km) from London Waterloo.Opened in 1848 by the London and South Western Railway (LSWR), it is located on the West Coastway Line which runs between Brighton and Southampton. It is currently served by the South Western Railway, Southern, and Great Western Railway train operating companies. The station used to have a small goods yard which served local freight trains around Portsmouth. Today all that remains is an old loading gauge, with the original site being built upon.

Wymering Manor is a Grade II* listed building, which is the oldest in the city of Portsmouth, England, and was the manor house of Wymering, a settlement mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. It is first recorded in 1042, when it was owned by King Edward the Confessor. After the Battle of Hastings it became the property of King William the Conqueror, until 1084.

Purbrook Heath is a hamlet in the civil parish of Purbrook in the Havant district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Waterlooville, which lies approximately 1.5 miles (2.6 km) north-east from hamlet. The Heath includes many attractions such as the cage where the locals can play football or basketball. There is also a cricket pitch, tennis courts and woodlands that has become popular for both dog walkers and the homeless.

Southwick and Widley is a civil parish in the English county of Hampshire forming part of the area administered as the City of Winchester. It comprises the village of Southwick and parts of the Havant suburb of Widley.

Portsbridge Creek, known officially as Portsea Creek, formerly as Portsea Lake and informally as Ports Creek, Port Creek, Portcreek and Canal Creek, , is a tidal waterway just off the southern coast of England that runs between Portsea Island and the mainland from Langstone Harbour to Tipner Lake. The unofficial Portsbridge Creek name for the creek is an outdated name, formerly used when Portsea Island used to have only a single road bridge (named the Portsbridge) crossing between Portsea Island and the mainland. In modern times, Portsea Creek now has other crossings via road, rail and pedestrian bridges. Through its history, Portsea Creek has been made navigable a number of times and it is today navigable for small boats, depending on tide.

Hilsea Lido is a freshwater lido at Hilsea, Portsmouth, England. The lido was closed for a number of years but reopened undergoing refurbishment under the control of Hilsea Lido Pool for the People.

Widley is an area of the Greater Portsmouth conurbation in the South East of England near Waterlooville and Purbrook. It is on the dip slope of the South Downs just north of the ridge called Portsdown Hill. Widley is served by the A3(T), trunk road which runs from Portsmouth to London. The main A3 to London (at this point the A3(M) motorway) is very close by, making it commutable by road. Widley is served by Cosham or Havant rail stations.

The Hilsea Lines are a line of 18th- and 19th-century fortifications built at Hilsea to protect the northern approach to Portsea Island, an island off the southern coast of England which forms the majority of the city of Portsmouth and its key naval base. They are now used as a greenspace and leisure area, also known locally as Foxes Forest.

UTC Portsmouth is a university technical college which opened in September 2017 in Portsmouth, England. UTC Portsmouth specialises in teaching STEM subjects with a particular focus on Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. The UTC's sponsors include the Royal Navy, BAE Systems, QinetiQ, the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth City Council.The UTC's building, in the grounds of Trafalgar School, was constructed by BAM Construction over a twelve-month period and was completed during August 2017.
