The St. Joseph's Plantation was established in 1816 during the Second Spanish Rule (1783–1821) of Florida after Joseph Marion Hernandez purchased an 807.5-acre Spanish land grant. The forced-labor farm was located near the present-day intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Old Kings Road in Palm Coast, Flagler County, Florida. Until the early 1970s, ruins of some of the foundations of buildings, roads and canals of this once sprawling and thriving plantation complex were visible above ground. The ruins were bulldozed and covered over to construct new homes, roads, and commercial buildings in Palm Coast, Florida.

WBHQ (92.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Beverly Beach, Florida, and serving Flagler County. It is owned by Flagler County Broadcasting and broadcasts an adult hits radio format known as "Beach 92.7". Unlike other adult hits stations that mainly play classic rock and classic alternative rock hits of the 1980s and 1990s, WBHQ includes a good deal of the pop hits in its playlist. Like most adult hits stations, it uses no disc jockeys, but it does not have a voice making sarcastic or ironic quips, as heard on Jack FM and Bob FM stations. It was assigned the WBHQ call sign by the Federal Communications Commission on February 20, 2009.WBHQ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 5,500 watts. WBHQ broadcasts using HD Radio technology. Its HD2 digital subchannel simulcasts the talk radio format of sister station WNZF (1550 AM_. The HD3 subchannel has an oldies format known as "Kool 100.9". That subchannel feeds FM translator W265CF at 100.9 MHz in Palm Coast.

Matanzas High School (MHS) is located at 3535 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast, Florida. The school's sports teams are known as the Pirates. As of 2013–2014, it was A-rated. The school colors are royal blue, silver and black.On February 21, 2023, a 17-year-old student was arrested after attacking his teacher and beating her into an unconscious state, allegedly because his Nintendo Switch was taken from him during class. The student is set to be charged as an adult and faces up to 30 years in prison.

WNZF (1550 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station, licensed to Bunnell, Florida, the county seat of Flagler County in Northeast Florida. The call sign stands for "News Flagler". WNZF is licensed to Flagler County Broadcasting, LLC, which is owned by James Martin, Gary Smithwick, David Ayres, and Tricia Woods. Martin has owned and operated more than 20 radio stations. Smithwick is a Washington, D.C. communications attorney who has participated in ownership of five radio stations in Florida with Martin. Smithwick was also president and part owner of a television station. WNZF has its transmitter off North Bay Street in Bunnell. It transmits 5,500 watts by day, but because AM 1550 is a clear channel frequency, WNZF must reduce power at night to 57 watts, to avoid interfering with other stations. WNZF is also heard on an FM translator, W235CW at 94.9 MHz.

During the 1930s, the Flagler County, Florida Jail (also known locally as the "Stockade") was in dire need of repairs and enlargement. Flagler County Commissioners were under pressure from local citizens and grand juries to repair the building or erect a new one. After months of negotiations, during 1938, between the Flagler County Board of Commissioners and the Works Progress Administration WPA an agreement to build a new Flagler County Jail building was approved. A WPA Project, No. 4242, was approved that cost approximately $24,000 ($498,950 in 2022 dollars). It was agreed that the costs would be divided between Flagler County and the WPA. Construction of the new Flagler County Jail started January 25, 1939 under the management of Z. D. Holland, WPA Supervisor and well known local contractor. It was built on 2.04 acres of county-owned property located at 1600 Old Moody Blvd., Bunnell, FL.The construction project took a little over one year to complete as it was finished in early February 1940. The WPA, represented by Z. D. Holland, officially transferred sole responsibility of the finished building to the Flagler County government on February 2, 1940. Flagler County Commissioners promptly turned the keys to the building over to Flagler County Sheriff Ernest Walton “E.W.” Johnston who moved the county’s sheriff department into the new building and officially opened the jail.

AdventHealth Palm Coast is a non-profit hospital campus in Palm Coast, Florida, United States owned by AdventHealth. It became the first hospital built in Flagler County and it is also the second largest employer in the county.

Painters Hill is an unincorporated community in Flagler County, Florida, United States. It is located just north of Beverly Beach and southeast of Palm Coast on State Road A1A. The community is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach, FL metropolitan statistical area.

Flagler Executive Airport (ICAO: KFIN, FAA LID: FIN) is a county-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) east of the central business district of Bunnell, a city in Flagler County, Florida, United States. The airport's former FAA location identifiers were X47 and XFL. The airfield was originally constructed by the United States Navy during World War II as Naval Outlying Field Bunnell (NOLF Bunnell), an auxiliary airfield for flight training operations originating from nearby Naval Air Station Jacksonville, NAS Daytona Beach and NAS DeLand. Following the end of the war, the airfield was transferred from the Navy to Flagler County for use as a general aviation airport. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data, the airport ranks as the fourth busiest in Florida out of 105 General Aviation airports, with 190,000 takeoffs and landings per year. This is primarily due to its use as a practice field by students from nearby Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, adjacent to Daytona Beach International Airport. Due to the increase in air traffic, the Flagler County Airport now has an FAA Level 1 Contract Air Traffic Control Tower that operates from 7am - 9pm, 365 days per year.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Flagler County Airport is assigned FIN by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.The airport is also home to the Flagler Palm Coast Army Readiness Center that opened in October 2020. Listed on the FAA Airport Diagram as a "National Guard Armory," the facility actually supports units of both the U.S. Army Reserve and the Florida Army National Guard. Although no military aircraft are permanently assigned, the facility contains a flight line ramp area capable of accommodating UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, and C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The Vocational Agriculture Building (also known as the Little Red School House) was built by the Works Projects Administration (WPA) in 1938 with funding from the Flagler County Board of Public Instruction and the WPA. It is located at 1001 E. Howe St., Bunnell, Florida, United States. Interestingly, it never served as a schoolhouse as it was used as Bunnell High School's vocational agriculture department and housed the local chapter of the Future Farmers of America, which is now known as the National FFA Organization. The building is also often mistaken for a one-room schoolhouse, but it actually has two large rooms and a smaller storage room. This building is one of only three structures built in Flagler County during the Great Depression with funding provided by New Deal dollars. The other two are the Bunnell Coquina City Hall and the Flagler County Jail (WPA-Built).On February 21, 2007, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
