Charlotte Park, Florida

Punta Gorda (; English: Fat Point) is a city located in Southwest Florida and is the county seat of Charlotte County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census the city had a population of 19,471. Punta Gorda is part of the Sarasota-Bradenton-Punta Gorda Combined Statistical Area.Punta Gorda was the scene of massive destruction after Charley, a Category 4 hurricane, came through the city on August 13, 2004. Charley was the strongest tropical system to hit Florida since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and the first hurricane since Hurricane Donna in 1960 to make a direct hit on Florida's southwest coast. In the years following the storm, buildings were restored or built to hurricane-resistant building codes. The new buildings, restorations and amenities concurrently preserved the city's past while showcasing newer facilities. During this time, Laishley Park Municipal Marina was built and the Harborwalk, Linear Park and various trails were created throughout the city for bicycle and pedestrian traffic.

The following buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Punta Gorda Multiple Property Submission (or MPS).

Charlotte High School is a historic public high school in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States serving ninth to twelfth grade students. The school is part of the Charlotte County Public Schools district, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. Established in 1926, Charlotte High is located at 1250 Cooper Street. The school carries the slogan of "Charlotte County's First and Finest" since it remained the only high school in Charlotte County for many years until its top rival schools, Port Charlotte High School and Lemon Bay High School, were built. With 1,596 students, Charlotte High School is the largest high school in Charlotte County by student population.On December 12, 1990, its main three-story building was added to the United States' National Register of Historic Places. The main building was destroyed in 2004 by Hurricane Charley, causing Charlotte High School to need to be rebuilt. The second phase of the school's rebuild opened in August 2009, housing all 9th and 10th graders in their academies. In January 2010, the 11th and 12th grade students moved into their academy in the existing renovated 2-story building. In August 2010, the remaining elective classes found their home on the fully complete Charlotte High School campus.

The Punta Gorda Atlantic Coast Line Depot is a historic Atlantic Coast Line Railroad depot in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States. It is located at 1009 Taylor Road. Owned and maintained by the Punta Gorda Historical Society, the building houses a Black history exhibit and an antique mall. On December 12, 1990, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Punta Gorda Residential District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on January 7, 1991) located in Punta Gorda, Florida. The district is bounded by West Retta Esplanade, Berry Street, West Virginia Avenue and Taylor Street.

The Punta Gorda Ice Plant (also known as the Kazwells Furniture Store) is a historic ice plant in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States. It is located at 408 Tamiami Trail. Currently, it houses a pub and pizzeria. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Fishermen's Village is a waterfront shopping, entertainment, and resort complex located along Charlotte Harbor in Punta Gorda, Florida. It includes over 30 shops and restaurants and The Suites accommodations located on the second floor. It also includes a full service marina. Live music and other forms of entertainment are also common at Fishermen's Village

The First National Bank of Punta Gorda (also known as the Old Merchants Bank of Punta Gorda) was a bank headquartered in Punta Gorda, Florida. In 1985, it was acquired by First Florida Bank, which became part of Bank of America in 1999.On March 14, 1991, its branch location was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Punta Gorda Woman's Club is a historic woman's club in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States. It is located at 118 Sullivan Street, and at one point was the area's first community library. Tt was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The building is owned by the Punta Gorda Historical Society.

The H. W. Smith Building (also known as the Smith Arcade) is a historic site in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States. It is located at 121 East Marion Avenue and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. As of 2023, the building houses The Perfect Caper restaurant and a Florida Department of Corrections state probation office

The Blanchard House Museum is an African-American history museum in a historic former home in Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, Florida. It specializes in African-American history of Charlotte County and Southwest Florida.

The A. C. Freeman House (also known as the Gilchrist House) is a historic house located at 311 West Retta Esplanade in Punta Gorda, Florida. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
